Thank you for this free video. There are really smart and experienced people out there who like to charge arm and leg for their knowledge, especially on these kind of cars.
so i may be picking up a 300td wagon and i heard that it's good to keep up on said valve adjustments, this video is easy to understand and gives me confidence, thank you!
Not exactly, but similar. I would suggest you grab a repair manual, you should own one. It will have the procedure, special tools and torque specs. Give our parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799

Excellent video!!! Thx
You're welcome!
I buy parts for you guys all the time! That said the exhaust valve are set to .35 mm not .305 mm per MB factory manual.
Thanks for that!
I could be wrong, but I think it's one or the other depending on whether you have a turbo. I think turbo version is .35mm and non turbo is .305mm.
Is the adjustment procedure and valve clearances the same for 200 and 230 e (M102 four-cylinder gas engines)?

I just bought a car with the OM617 engine; it sounds just fine; but I don't know when the valves were last adjusted!
Then I would at least take a measurement to be sure an adjustment isn't needed.
