We were visiting my grandparents when I was a little girl, and a close friend of my dad’s passed away. My mom and dad had to go in to town to buy clothes to wear to the funeral as they had brought nothing funeral appropriate with them. After that, funeral appropriate clothes were always packed along with our other clothes. I have now been married 50 years and still do this. I am so sorry for your family’s loss ♥️🙏
What a beautiful video. Thank you. Loved your jewelry case. I saw on Pinterest you can thread your more dainty chained necklaces through a straw to keep them tangle free. I’m so sorry for the loss of your Father-in-law. ❤️🌹
Hope Sainsburys sponsored you ! They’re a good general supermarket - but I think you would prefer Waitrose. Possibly a BIT more expensive, but the added benefit of John Lewis (V good dept. store) own brand products, not food . Try Fage Greek yogurt - the best and no added sugar. The UK is SWELTERING along with the rest of the world …… and beautiful (usually) green West Surrey/Sussex border where I live looks like the Gobi desert. Clever of you to find a green bit to share !
Darcy from Texas- I'm sorry for your great loss. I know that you know the Lord is celebrating his Homecoming in Heaven. Thank you for your vlog n showing us what graciousness looks like.🌹
I'm originally from Essex but now live in St Helens where my husband is from. I went from south to north. Ooh er! So nice to think of you visiting my country. 😊
It was a real treat seeing life from England. I'm so sorry that your family experienced such a deep loss upon your arrival. I do hope that the remainder of your stay is beautiful and restful. Blessings to you and your family. 💕
Jennifer - I did not think it was weird at all. I love seeing good balanced breakfast ideas and one of my favorite things to do when I’m abroad is to go to the grocery store. So this was delightful. Thank you! 🙂
Despite what may be occurring in your life, Jennifer, you always have such a calm nature and leave me with a feeling of peacefulness. Thank you. Take care.
Hello Jennifer... Welcome to England..... Glad to see you're enjoying our beautiful countryside and thank goodness its not raining!!! God Bless you and your family..... Have a lovely holiday and come back soon... ❤️from rural Shropshire. 🇬🇧
I have been watching your channel for over a year and it has changed my life, thank you!. You can get Taramasalata in the States, this is a Greek spread made from fish roe, I love it too! Find any authentic Greek restaurant and I bet they will have it! Enjoy your beautiful vacation and thank you for sharing it with us!
You can get Taramasalata (also called Tarama) - a red caviar spread - in California. Just go to a Greek, Middle Eastern or Armenian grocery store. You should find it in a jar in the refrigerated section, made by Krinos. You can add olive oil, mix, and then add fresh lemon juice, mixing them in alternately until you get the right amount of tang and fluffiness you like.
Love your breakfasts! They are actually very Swedish. Yoghurt with granola or müesli and open faced sandwiches with savory spreads, like pâté, cheese or deli meat is very commonly eaten as breakfast here. You would find all of this on any breakfast buffet in any hotel here, as well as in most homes. You should try some thin cucumber slices or some pickle slices on the pâté sandwich, it’s delicious!
Enjoyed the little gander into the refrigerator and your insight into the compote and Greek yogurt as well as what you eat for breakfast that you feel seems unusual .... I think that’s what makes you relatable and not stuffy . My mom would love fresh cold watermelon for breakfast, or occasionally a leftover piece of fried chicken that was cold out of the fridge for lunch and even deep pan pizza heated up in a cast-iron skillet for breakfast . The pizza was a rare treat for our big family and it was really big a treat the next morning if there were a few pieces left 😊
I was so glad to hear you like to visit grocery stores in other countries! No matter where we go, finding a local grocery store is always on our itinerary!🥰
Hi Jennifer! I loved your video! I especially loved the beginning, with the beautiful images of nature and your inspiring reflections. Yes, the details are important on our journey, and I too don’t want to miss them, but I have to remind myself of that! I’m still praying for you and Ben, your mother-in-law, and all the family members and friends in mourning. It’s so nice to discover food in other countries, and like you and many who commented, I enjoy that a lot! I found it very interesting that you showed us what was in your fridge and explained it, and told us how good it was! I always wanted to go to England. I’m an Anglophile, and this country and its history always fascinated me. So your videos from there are much welcomed! I wish you a nice stay! Be blessed! 🙏🌷🌺
Jennifer, taramasalata is a Greek dish and you definitely can get it in America. Just go to any ethnic grocery store and you will find it in the Greek foods aisle. All the best!
You fit so many interesting things into one Vlog, Jennifer. Thank you! I enjoyed it all. Your words and walk down the path to the lake set a peaceful tone at the beginning. I’m really impressed with the jewelry case. I use little cases that individual necklaces or pieces of jewelry come in, but the necklaces tend to get tangled. I loved every bit about your breakfasts. We were particularly impressed with the different types of bacon (and their descriptive names) when we were in England. I must admit, that I thoroughly enjoyed the full British breakfasts at our Bed & Breakfast over there. Ever since we were there I occasionally will prepare the mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast or a side dish. I never tried the black pudding! I always like seeing you in your APC dress. Your refrigerator and closet tours were enjoyable. I continue to pray for you all. Lovingly, Paula
Hi Jennifer I’m so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your father in law. I love your channel and what you share with us. Like you I am loving my yogurt for brunch with berries, chia seeds, walnuts, pecans and sunflower seeds. Very yummy. The taramasalata dip you have been enjoying is known as a caviar dip and is very Greek. This is a very popular dip in Australia which is where I am from. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing your holiday time with us.
What I really enjoyed was the hybrid video - part recorded video with a voice over and part in-person. It was like getting the best of both of your approaches to vlogging. Continuing to hold your family with gentle thoughts during this sacred time for you and yours.
Jennifer, What a delightful travel vlog! So fun to se the different foods and routines. The older I get, the less I prefer a sweet breakfast; are you having tea time daily? Thanks for taking us on holiday with you. Continuing to pray for your family and extended network of friends as you walk through this new path in your lives. Julie 🌷
Lovely words and video! So sorry for your family’s loss. I’ve been watching and following your posts for years and own your first book. I’m glad I’m not the only “weird” one who prefers savoury breakfasts - I chuckled when I saw the pâté on toast because that’s something I do myself (or different kinds of cheeses). May I recommend an ajvar spread with some feta or akawi/halloumi cheese if you like savoury - or a yogurt cheese (labneh: like a Greek yogurt but spreadable) with a pinch of dry mint and olive oil. Delish!
What a wonderful treat. How fun to see your fridge. All the different brands and labels are so fun. Have you considered an England girls trip with your UA-cam fans!?? It would be so wonderful for us all!
Lovely video, Jennifer! Pâté on toast is not weird! I live for pâté, but I am all about the densely nutritious Weston A. Price/Nourishing Traditions diet - Liver is a superfood. When I lived near Waitrose, I got taramasalata all the time! I just wish it was made with olive oil rather than canola. They do have it in the States, but the one I commonly see is not a freshly whipped version. When I first moved to England, I marveled at the entire row of yogurt (and their crisps selection is no joke either!)- I loved rhubarb yogurt! I’m getting back into fragrance, and with the TSA liquids limit, the Pinrose wipes are a great idea. I will probably try them. I’ve always loved that APC dress; I prefer their designs from 10+ years ago.
Hi Jennifer, I am one of your subscribers from England and it has been interesting to watch your trip here. Sorry for the loss that your family has experienced. It looks as if you are still managing to find some time to relax which is good. Your breakfasts look delicious, I often eat a similar breakfast despite it not being traditional English. My husband and I walk most mornings in the countryside near to where we live in north Bedfordshire and everywhere has become so dry. The weather has been so warm this summer with very little rain. Completely understand that you like to try new foods when travelling, I enjoy doing the same. Thank you for another good video.
My favorite thing on vacation is to check out the local grocery stores and farmer's markets. I just adore the décor in that apartment, so beautiful and calming.
Lovely video, I’m in the UK and have watched you for a long time. So glad you decided to do some videos from here, it’s fascinating to see your take on English food and I loved (and laughed) at the fridge tour. Very much agree with your preferences! My condolences to you and your family but I hope you can still enjoy your time here..
Loved waking up to see a new video from you. Whenever I visit a new grocery/specialty store and I see jars of lemon curd I always think of buying it and then baking. Haha. Thanks for sharing Jennifer.
I enjoyed seeing the British foods. I miss Sainsburys. I lived in Scotland for three years and also spent a lot of time in Ireland. The dairy products were always so much better than in North America, and the rashers and sausages in Ireland were particularly delicious!
One of my favourite breakfasts - hummous on toast. Especially nice if it's jalapeno hummous and a nice hot cup of tea! Love and blessings from England xx
Taramasalata is Greek and it has cod roe and lemon juice in it and is often coloured with a bit of beetroot juice. It’s not normally as pink in Greece x
I love shopping for food in different countries, especially England. I find, for the most part, the food is fresher and has less "junk" ingredients in it. I'm new here but am loving your videos so thank you. Lastly, I wanted to send my deepest condolences to you and your family❤
Thank you for the video; it is lovely to see a bit of your travels in England. Your apartment is absolutely stunning! Also, you may be happy to hear that having liver pate on your breakfast toast is very common in Sweden! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'm sending my deepest condolences to you all.
Jennifer, the morning unplanned walk near a lake was a nice break with a nice lesson about life. Your white on white looks was good. I wondered how that would look.
I'm glad you are doing better, it's nice to see a smile on your face! What a cute jewelry case its the perfect size. Going to grocery stores when I travel is so much fun I love finding new things and the packaging always interesting! Thanks Jennifer 😊
A lovely video, and you look beautiful in your well-chosen outfits. It's wonderful to see you enjoying England so much, from the yoghurt to the countryside. I saw that you'd bought a plant-based yoghurt - as I'm vegan I eat the Alpro yoghurts frequently. The Alpro Greek yoghurt is delicious. I wonder, have you ever visited the Lake District? Here in the northwest of England there are some unforgettable places.
Glad you are enjoying your stay here. I’m from the south of England (Kent) We have had lots of dry hot weather which is not usual for us. We are desperate for some rain (climate change). Enjoy the rest of your stay 🌿
Lovely video Jennifer! I loved the introduction you have done: it made me thinking about the different paths we take in life and the journey we make! I've noticed that you had some greek products for breakfast: yoghourt and taramosalata. Taramosalata is a greek salad made by fish eggs like caviar, and it is traditionally eaten during the fasts (we have a lot throughout the year as orthodoxies). We have it for breakfast, with bread and olives ( I am sorry to inform you that it doesn't matches with sweet jams or marmelades....) and as a starter (we called it "meze", like "tapas" in Spanish) with olives, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and we drink ouzo or tsipouro. Enjoy your staying in England and if you find more greek products, let me- us know! I suggest a visit to Greece is necessary!
Hi Jennifer, I think Europeans understand the attraction of foreign grocery stores very well, because we go abroad more often on account of our countries being smaller. It’s one of my favourite holiday experiences and I often take herbs home with me
I am the same way when I go to the UK (specifically Scotland 😍) I go crazy for all the stuff we don’t have in America. About the yogurt, my husband and I found that we feel the same way about the milk in the UK. I don’t like milk, but the milk in the UK is just the best that I’ve ever had. I hope you enjoyed your time in the UK despite the circumstances.
I am very sorry for you loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I love to see different foods from different countries and your fridge was a treat for me. Please never feel self conscious about showing us your fridge or what you eat. Again, I was so sorry to hear of our father in laws passing. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
Jennifer, I send my condolences to your family at this difficult time. I’m glad you have had some quiet moments to savor the joys of life. It has been my good fortune to visit the UK several times, and I heartily agree that the yogurt and cheese is outstanding! It’s one of my favorite food experiences there.
I am very sorry for the loss of your father in law. I love foods from different countries and the yogurt in the Middle East is exceptional! The same thing happened to us several years ago when visiting my father. He had been sick but was improving and we went to visit them the next morning he passed away. I think for the wake and funeral clothes is an experience I’ll never forget. 🙏🏻
Oh Jennifer! The opening was just beautiful and moving. I watched it twice :) I'm a bit late in getting to your videos of the past few weeks as I, myself, recently returned from England but wanted to reach out and extend love and peace to you and your family for all you have been through. You look so much stronger now than a few weeks ago and sending blessings to you, Ben, the kids, and your mother-in-law. Lovely video and thinking of you all.
Thank you for posting at this difficult time Jennifer. The foods are so interesting. I love the thought of fresh fruits and yogurts and cheeses from the countryside. Do you have those for tea? Enjoy!
Hi Jennifer, Your breakfasts look delicious. I have Greek Yogurt most mornings with a little fruit, handful of almonds, a little cereal, some cinnamon and a splash or real maple syrup because the Yogurt is sour. The British Greek Yogurt looked really good. Love seeing the English countryside and your wardrobe. So sorry that your father in law passed. You have honored him so lovingly. xoxo, Karen
Hi Jennifer, taramosalata is a Greek spread made of fish roe - it IS delicious! I love going to foreign supermarkets, I always love to bring something back to remind me of the trip. We'll be heading to Scotland soon - it's not foreign to me, I was born there but I don't get back that often, so I love seeing what's new in the supermarkets. I find that in Britain especially the supermarkets are very innovative, so many interesting products. My condolences on the loss of your father-in-law, I'm sure that your mother-in-law is grateful to have the family around her at this time.
I am sorry for your loss. He seems like an old time gentleman. Someone worth knowing. On a different note, when we are abroad i always visit the local supermarket and look for different foods, cheese, sausage, fruits whatever. I find it interesting trying to discover culinary differences. I do understand how you can eat taramosalata in the morning or any other time of day-once you start you cannot stop eating it! Enjoy the rest of the trip.
Really hope you enjoyed your time in the UK, and my condolences for your family’s loss. Going to grocery stores is something I like to do when I’m abroad too - it can be really eye-opening to see how other cultures eat. I’m from Northern Ireland and it gives me a strange kind of joy to see Americans marvelling over things from Sainsbury’s! I get that exact Greek yoghurt and doux de montagne cheese and highly recommend both :)
Greetings from the UK 🌿 Jennifer, this was utterly delightful and enchanting. Just beautiful. I’m chortling at the recognisable cultural elements here. I love your jewellery case! 💚
I am amused by your reaction to what you picked up in Sainsbury’s; glad you like the groceries over here! You are right Jennifer, that’s not what we might call an English breakfast but it is what a lot of us eat (minus the pate/fish paste). A full English breakfast is sausage, bacon, black pudding (congealed pork or beef blood, sorry, no offence intended but that’s what it is), hash browns (fried potato I think), grilled tomatoes, fried eggs. I’ve probably missed something. I don’t eat it but some people go nuts for it and have a bit of everything or maybe just a modified version. Have you tried marmite? I have a feeling you might like it. I like your dress that you wore to your father-in-law’s funeral. You looked really elegant and classy.
Just wanted to say that I love seeing the grocery items and the items in the fridge!! Thank you for the lovely videos and my condolences to your family for your loss.💕
Jennifer, I know you love a good lipstick. The amazing British makeup artist Lisa Eldridge currently has a pop up shop in Covent Garden in London. I so wish I could go, but I'm in the US right now. However, her lipsticks are amazing! I think you would really like them. If you do happen to stop by the shop, I would love to live vicariously through you! 😆😃
Jennifer I didn’t notice that you weren’t dressed for a trip to the lake. I was taking in the scenery so beautiful and serene and your narrating the message of wisdoms I needed to hear today. Thank you. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Yay! So glad you're vlogging on your holiday. Loved seeing all of the things! When I first saw you walking in the woods I thought, wow she really does wear the same thing but then you mentioned you weren't dressed appropriately but I thought it looked very much like you. Thanks for taking us along on your enchanted adventures abroad. Sorry for your loss.
I really enjoyed the video, love taramasalata and pate yum. I do ITF and found it so hard on our cruise with breakfast before our daily tours and dinner at 7:00 pm and we were on the ship for 15 days. I just went with it as I was on vacation and the food was wonderful but I felt bloated. The two weeks in England were easier because we were in a hotel and then with family, but my family all eat late. Loved the peep into your fridge when I’m home I indulge in all the things I can’t get here in the US. Looking forward to hearing how you managed you ITF. Enjoy your holiday.
Wonderful vlog post! I think the beeping could be the door alarm on the refrigerator from keeping it open too long? Also, we just returned from three weeks in Europe, and my jewelry roll isn't working the way I would like. I gave my husband the link for the jewelry case you showed for a gift idea, and think I will love it.
What beautiful countryside and lake, and a balm for your family's sadness over the loss of your father-in-law. Good planning on your packing for your trip. The first time I visited London was in August and the weather was all over the place. Good to have options! Oh yes, food shopping in other locales is very fun. Love to see what you've found there!
Thanks for sharing Jennifer! I LOVED seeing your fridge! I love going to supermarkets around the world. It is SO interesting! I use a jewelry wrap for traveling which fits in your case just like clothing. Enjoy the rest of your stay XX
I'm glad I'm not the only one intrigue by foreign supermarkets 😂 I'm Australian and we have our brands that we've all grown up with, and I find it really interesting to see what other foods and brands people from other countries have grown up with.
We were visiting my grandparents when I was a little girl, and a close friend of my dad’s passed away. My mom and dad had to go in to town to buy clothes to wear to the funeral as they had brought nothing funeral appropriate with them. Good old Sainsburys! We love browsing food shops abroad too
Learn to love without condition. Talk without bad intention. Give without any reason. And most of all, care for people without any expectation.
ThankYou for sharing this 💞 Lady Jennifer. Your mindfulness is lovely
Despite what may be occurring in your life, Jennifer, you always have such a calm nature and leave me with a feeling of peacefulness. Thank you. Take care.
I shops in sainsburys practically daily and NO I loved seeing what you got... its given me new inspiration what to get. X 👍
Hello Jennifer... Welcome to England..... Glad to see you're enjoying our beautiful countryside and thank goodness its not raining!!! God Bless you and your family..... Have a lovely holiday and come back soon... ❤️from rural Shropshire. 🇬🇧

In Norway also for sure, and I'm assuming it's everyday staple in Denmark also, but not 100%certain as I am not Danish.
@@TheKatelinn My father in law lives in Copenhagen and it seems to be very much the same there.

Pate and seafood spread for breakfast is not weird. Enjoy🙂

We noticed this too - much more fresh bread, fruit, etc., and way less processed foods, junk food.
Welcome, Erin! Thank you ♥
I love to have tiny pumpernickel bread with Gouda, Norwegian smoked salmon and cucumber for breakfast.
Thank you for the video; it is lovely to see a bit of your travels in England. Your apartment is absolutely stunning!

So good to see you Jennifer! I, too, find everyday details from other countries fascinating. Thank you for the peek into your visit.
Not strange breakfasts at all - I love savoury meals as well at breakfast
A favorite thing of mine is exploring grocery stores on vacation.
Hello ! Thank you for this video ! I just want to share my hope that we will soon all be producing much less waste from food packaging...
They sell taramosalta by Krinos in the US. You can usually find at a local Eastern European market :)
I love pate in the morning on toast! I gave a type of pate called Creton. It's typical of Quebec.
Taramosalata is Greek caviar. It’s essentially fish eggs with olive oil.
I love pate and toast for breakfast too, it is a good form of fats in the morning and tastes great!
try putting your necklaces in a straw to keep them separate
Loved the video Jennifer!! Your England videos are my favorite! 😊
The seafood spread sounds delicious! I love the music in the background, so relaxing 😌.
I’ve been praying for your family and mother-in-law. Always love your videos! God bless you!
I loved your introduction! A beautiful walk...
Very calming and reassuring! So sorry for your loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss ♥
I love grocery shopping in places away from home too! It's an adventure!
My sister and I travel to Europe every year...by ourselves and like to go to hardware type stores as well.
I love grocery shopping, even better in goreogn locations. What I really enjoyed were the sunblush, semidried, tomatoes.
I love seeing inside people's fridges :)
Thanks for sharing.
Our frig has a similar chime when the door is open too long 🙂. Appreciate your blog. I’ve never travelled in England and it looks lovely.
I was getting ready to white that, but you beat me to it.
It's actually the tumble dryer... I finally sourced where the beep was coming from.
Sorry for your loss.
Greetings from the UK 🌿 Jennifer, this was utterly delightful and enchanting. Just beautiful. I’m chortling at the recognisable cultural elements here. I love your jewellery case! 💚
In Hungary we usually have pate on bread for breakfast, or cold meats e.g. salami or ham - for us it is totally normal :)
I do love marmite!
@@TheDailyConnoisseur considering what you put on your toast…. I knew it!! 😁
Hi Jennifer, it’s so nice to see you in this vlog . I enjoyed these everyday topics and look into life in England. 💕
I love going to the grocery store in other countries too. Even in the States when I visit. My condolences to your family for your loss. 💕
Jennifer I didn’t notice that you weren’t dressed for a trip to the lake. I was taking in the scenery so beautiful and serene and your narrating the message of wisdoms I needed to hear today. Thank you. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Thanks for sharing. Great content. I'm here watching. i send you my thumb my friend🌹💝
I was saddened by the loss of your father-in-law. Prayers for God's comfort and peace in the days ahead.
So nice to see you. Take your time and be gentle with yourself.🤎
My husband loves taramosalata. We buy it at a Greek grocery store, maybe there’s a Greek grocery store near you. Krinos (brand) sells it in a jar.
