I’ve looked at your wiring diagram your using and it’s fairly straightforward, on the start side though . The positive needs too send power too the accessory too keep the motor running , then positive also too the starter wire for the momentary contact ? I was tossing around the idea of making it push button but I may buy a key ignition with a kill switch lanyard . Thanks man
would this work on a outboard that has been converted to pull start?? i have a 30hp Johnson that still has the starter and everything on it, I was trying to find videos to find out how to hook up a kill switch but my brother told me id be better off going from the red plug that is already on the outboard. so i been looking up vids and ran across your channel. Because if i need to buy a ignition switch I will lol
@@seedless-bud sure, they made that red plug style from around 1978 until 1995 so if you check on Facebook marketplace someone is selling an ignition switch with harness connected. You may have to get the controls as well if it is sold as a set. ebay too. Keithm5734@verizon.net
@@OutboardDad I got the other end of the red plug it was cut so i got about a bit over 5 feet of it to work with lol. I thought I could just by pass everything and rig it up for pull start but i will look online for the ignition key setup and try to rig it up for just turning the key so i can pull start it? i still need to read up on everything lol i know enough to understand everything but still new to it so taking it easy and trying to learn about the system before i get into then water you know, So this helps a lot thank you
@@seedless-bud anytime, i have the drawing in my video. Should be able to rig a switch from ground to the kill wire. Just be sure to safe off all the others. If you email me I can send it to you
