    Nice to see a video from a rider with humility. I'm not a biker but thinking about learning and I've seen a lot of UA-cam videos where people drop the bike more seriously than this or crash and get back up, blame some 'black ice' or something and carry on like it was nothing. It probably didn't help that there was a pedestrian in the road to your left. You should always give way to a pedestrian and these days any more 'vulnerable' road user than yourself even if they are just waiting to cross at a junction due to the updated Highway Code. Not saying that was the cause but if you slow / stop and wait for a pedestrian to clear out the way you can then focus on the cars at the junction too. Also that car probably shouldn't be parked so close to the junction obscuring your view but he did help you out so we'll let him off! But what do I know I've never even been on a motorbike. I was just interested in this Husqvarna so ended up watching. Stay safe and enjoy the cool bike!

      Thank you for you kind words. When I did the post assessment I didn’t even considered the pedestrian. UA-cam is full of “experts” and if you check some of my next videos, I almost failed my DAS exam because I followed advise from these so called “experts”. Said that, there are some great channels here but they are difficult to distinguish if you’re a noob like me. I was lucky enough to have some awesome viewers and usually the comments are very constructive and in good faith ;)
      How come you were checking this bike? Are you thinking of taking the step in our side? If so, please do so! I’ve never been on a bike before (like you) and it is one of the best things I’ve ever done!

    Hey mate, don’t be worrying about the fall. You handled it well and great to see the fact that you put this up on your channel and didn’t try to hide it. It’s good to see this experience for new riders….such as…me!!! I am pleased to say that your videos inspired me and made me do something about my desire to want to ride a motorcycle. @@vanyer401 haha thank you, yeah it’s amazing. I’m in Edinburgh, and used a local company here to do my CBT and they also stock KTM and Husqvarna - they had the svartpilen 125 in stock so I just went for it. I absolutely love the bike, so beautiful. I think I’ll upgrade to the same mirrors as you have. Went for a ride yesterday and it was great, albeit I felt a bit nervous. However a beautiful day in Edinburgh today, went out early, roads were quiet and it was awesome. Just felt like I was riding without needing to over think about braking, gears, etc. It was really enjoyable 👍🏻🙌🏻

    Great video pal, really easy beginners mistake! Try practice some slow speed manoeuvres using the back brake only, if you can find a place! But honestly dropping a bike is part of it, a bike with 0 scratches is owned by the wrong person 😆 especially the husky, they’re made for adventure! Take care out there and enjoy!

    The Husky 125 is a great bike, I had one from March this year til August when I passed my test and traded it in for a Husky 701! As someone has commented below - all you're braking "should" be done in a straight line, the word should is in quotes because you can sometimes be caught out. I remember coming round a corner to a line of cars stopped in front of me, on a curve on a wet road....thought for sure I was either going right into the back of the cars, going down, or going into the trees on the other side.....luckily I managed to use all the road and get slowed down in time. That was on my Husky 125 - the ABS saved my bacon that day! (if I'd been on the 701 I definitely would have been going faster and definitely would have crashed)

    • @vanyer401
      @vanyer401  2 роки тому

      Finally starting to make some sense of the abs capabilities and use. I even found a video where it shows that if you brake in a turn even with ABS you’ll drop the bike (depending on the angle of course). Thank you for the feedback Damian. It really helps me understand. On a different note, I was planning to go for the 401 after I pass my full license. What was the reason for you to go straight to the 701 instead of the 401?

      @@vanyer401 I was besotted - I went up to my dealer to have my 125 serviced and he had one 701 left in the showroom, it was £3,000 more than the 401 but I had to have it. I absolutely love it - best decision ever. It only weighs 10kgs more than the 125, but has 75 HP so it is very punchy!

      as someone who has experience with the 125 and the 701, what do you think about the seat? I also have a 125. I had it for a week and a half, and have done about 1000kms with it. When I leave home it's all good, but after an hour I don't know how to sit or move anymore, because my butt starts to hurt. I have to stop for a while and stretch my legs before I can get going again. Did you have the same problem, or is it just me? And how is it on the 701?

    • @damiandoherty8183
      @damiandoherty8183 2 роки тому

      @@bulldozerke The 701 is a little better - but its not great for rides longer than 90 minutes - you will be butt sore! If you wnat to stay in the saddle all day then the 701 may not be the bike for you.

    I really hope Bajaj is able to read this message. If they are able to launch a 150cc instead of 125cc, among the 150cc segment bikes, this brand will explode the market. They don't have to make it obvious that it has a KTM engine, they should get innovative and launch a 150cc instead

    • @vanyer401
      @vanyer401  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t know how feasible it is. I think a larger engine than 125 is not legal for CBT holders (or similar permits) in Europe, so a 150 engine would exclude this entire segment here. They have the 401 after all. Maybe the law is different in other parts of the world? Where are you from mate? What are the rules there?

    Don't be disheartened. We've all done it. I think you really should take some further training. CBT is just as it says -basic. It's meant to give you enough to get started, but really shouldn't be used as a way to keep riding forever on L plates.
    More training would re-inforce the fact to NEVER to touch the front brake when the bike isn't upright and in a straight line. But hey, it's easy to say that when you're not panicking and trying to avoid a car. TBH the taxi driver was parked too close to the junction (Highway code rule 243).

      @vanyer401  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the supporting words, really appreciate it :) Do you know what'll happen if I brake and engage the abs while cornering? Same result as without abs?

    • @BillyHey72
      @BillyHey72 2 роки тому +1

      @Vanyer I don't think the svart has what's called "cornering abs"/IMU/Motorbike stability control. So if you grab the brake in a corner the bike will either slide out under you or sit itself upright and go straight. With abs it'll probably sit upright . It's probably best to not end up in that situation.
      This might explain it (or just confuse you even more 🤔)
