Just watched this again and caught that you're giving a few away. Adding a comment for an entry because I can't find these at dollar tree and I'd be great to be able to win one and use it to create some more of my own! Great video.
Clever hack. Those of us who grew up in the vinyl record era used to immediately record onto a cassette any new album we purchased. We could then play the cassette over and over and over again until it wore out, at which point our record had only been played once. I think the same approach could be applied to your plastic puzzle piece. Take the time to produce one perfect duplicate, and then put the plastic part aside for future use. By the way, nice idea with the modifications with corners and straight edges. Scott
A lot of peeps have had that issue :P i havnt been able to find them online to order either, unless its from eBay and the seller wants $20 per frame (the plastic ones) 🤣
New source for material "the Dollar Store" and also every time I drive by one of them the creative juices will get flowing lol 👍 Thanks and great video 🤙
Love the use of Dollar Store just to make a better item! The mix of Oak and Walnut is a beautiful pair! Thanks for the detailed info and as always, looking forward to many more of your videos!
You won! You won! You won! Shoot me an email with your address, and watch the video!! ua-cam.com/video/cNN6mNetzqk/v-deo.html WhosTheVossWoodworking@gmail.com Thanks!!
It's fun watching you build and learning things at the same time. You're talented and a GREAT teacher. Thank you for sharing your wisdom as well as your free plans. I love your channel and your spirit! I'm going to make a planter, WOOT! Keep up the good work!
Dollar Tree FTW! Sitting in bed scrolling UA-cam on Christmas Eve trying to get over the flu 🤧. Definitely gonna try this when I get back in the shop. Hope yall have a Merry Christmas
love the simple explanations of your stuff, and don't edit out errors. And Offerman is an amazing woodworker and actor, so if i win one of your puzzle frames, I WILL make my own Nick Offerman shrine piece with it.
Oh sorry I got so excited. When I found out your birthday was the same as mine I don’t know why just say love picture frames I mean I love the majority of your content it’s creative and you are really detailed and explaining how to go about building it. I also noticed that, you love the greatest showman as well as other musicals as do I anyway, thank you again for your content and look forward to watching a lot more of it. Thanks.
Quick tip, instead of double sided tape that can be a pain to sand off, use blue painters tape on both sides with a little bit of super glue from tape to tape . When done you simply just pull the tape off and there is no glue or tape to sand off.
Ohhh yeahhhh. I was actually out of instant spray and the closest place to buy it is a 40 minute drive. :/ i heard you can use acetone instead of the "instant bond" I haven't tried that yet. :) thanks for the tip!
You won! You won! You won! Shoot me an email with your address, and watch the video!! ua-cam.com/video/cNN6mNetzqk/v-deo.html WhosTheVossWoodworking@gmail.com Thanks!!
I'm ready to go buy every puzzle piece frame from every Dollar Tree near me just for the hardware! lol. Nice little project incorporating a few different techniques.
I literally have been trying to save money on templates. So IKEA has Pandemic Plexiglass dividers for $19 vs. $69. So I bought a bunch they are about 24x30 each. After seeing this video I can now make puzzle templates! AWESOME video! We share the same passion of upcycling and doing what’s needed to save materials…love that you showed the wood splitting as well!
Nice find! Where I work was throwing away an ENTIRE PALLET of the 1/4" thick plexiglass covid protectors that were 30x30, i begged and pleaded to take them home but they declined -___-
I love this idea. Definitely gonna give it a try. If the frame/template is too narrow, I would probably just stick two together with tape or glue. I can see making a nice wall piece using these.
Not a bad option ;) it handled the thinner interior like a dream. Plus, once you made one from nicer wood you could use that as your template, I made one to replace the plastic one :)
I also like how you put everything for free and you do it just to teach (Also shameless double comment for additional entry 😅) Keep up the awesome videos man!
Thanks buddy! Im trying to build a community, not a business ;) plus I get money from the video, I don't need both hands in the jar by selling the plans ;P lol
It shows you never run out of ideas. I'm going to try it myself. I think my wife will go crazy. Thank you for explaining everything properly. Mary Christmas to you and the family.
Aaah, you've discovered one of my secrets: dollar tree objects for router patterns. I usually make a master copy out of MDF from the dollar tree product because the original can be flimsy. Hadn't seen the puzzle frames though, but now I'll head out and get some. Good job.
@WhosTheVoss that's good to know. I didn't know they had those. I have one in my Amazon list, but hobby lobby is close to a dollar tree here. Two birds.
You won! You won! You won! Shoot me an email with your address, and watch the video!! ua-cam.com/video/cNN6mNetzqk/v-deo.html WhosTheVossWoodworking@gmail.com Thanks!!
As alway, great job! I really like the 2 tone piece. I’m going to save this video so I can make some after the holidays. Be safe and have a Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
Also, I now need a Nick Offerman photo in my shop, so whether I win this or not, I'm putting one up. I need him to judge me when I don't clean up my mess.
I am going to Dollar Tree today to get the frames. Great video! When I win your contest I'll send you a photo that your piece fits in my frame. BTW, I am a sisterith woodworker - albeit a novice.
Great idea! I never thought if using something like that for a pattern. It would be cool to make for relatives with different numbers of people in their families, putting each member in a different frame. Or it's good to just have pictures of Nick in the shop too.😂
I ~>>LOVE
Good luck!! :)
Those would workout great for a family wall. Family tree. I like it!!!
If someone was to make like 20+ of these and take up an entire wall, it would be so cool!
Awesome Video. My son loves your channel. 😀
Thanks Terri :)
I like how you show the oops part of wood working and don't edit out mistakes to make it seem like you get it right every time.
;) i show the boo boo's, just not when they scare the poop out of me on the router lol ;)
Just watched this again and caught that you're giving a few away. Adding a comment for an entry because I can't find these at dollar tree and I'd be great to be able to win one and use it to create some more of my own! Great video.
Need me to mail you 2-3 plastic ones? If you live in the states send me an email WhosTheVossWoodworking@gmail.com

Thanks buddy! I plan to make a few good templates to make a larger puzzle :)
Great idea! Video's only been out a month and I already cannot find these frames at dollar tree, bummer!
A lot of peeps have had that issue :P i havnt been able to find them online to order either, unless its from eBay and the seller wants $20 per frame (the plastic ones) 🤣
What an awesome idea !! They could be made smaller too and also sell in multiples
Oooo, a little wallet size photo picture frame would be suuuper adorable!
Cool idea, I’m thinking about making two that form a heart.
Ooooo! That's a good idea!
1:49 takes a deep breath, “wood”! Love it! Too funny Aaron!
🤣😉 I think I got it right ;) lol
This is awesome! Your channel is a goldmine for beginner woodworkers.

I will also be putting up a picture of Nick. Although I have to admit, I wasn't aware of the trend of doing that in shops. Good video!!
Ive come across a couple threads of people doing it 🤷 you gotta put Nick on the wall! ;)

Looks like I'm heading to dollar tree. Might be cool to do a rabbetting bit on the inside and come up with your own hardware and photo mountings.
Totally! I picked up one of the picture frame tab guns at hobby lobby, all you need to do after that is cut a 1/4" back :)
@WhosTheVoss that's good to know. I didn't know they had those. I have one in my Amazon list, but hobby lobby is close to a dollar tree here. Two birds.
