I bought a toolbox at a garage sale a number of years ago. The word "CRAMPS" was handwritten on the outside. Like you, I had assumed that it was a mistake. Unlike you, I wasn't curious enough to ask Google. Thank you for enlightening me!
Thank you for your humor and making it okay to mess up once in a while. I think woodworking should be enjoyable. Your projects help get me through the long Michigan winters.
Man that is awesome that you went through the whole process, made the mistake, but still uploaded the video with a recap at the end. The anticipation the whole video had me wondering, “When is he going to fix it?” Then your quick recap at the end with humor brought it all together. I’m glad you kept the video the way you did. Great job buddy!
Oh, man. I can totally relate to being so focused and fixated on each individual step of the process that I forget to take a step back and see if it all makes sense. Thanks for keeping it real.
Finaly a project I can make! I'll do it with craft paper because I don't have the tools, the space nor know how to get wood in my country but I like watching woodwork anyway
Just found your channel... Kidding. I'm glad that you kept all of the content in the video. You could have spent way too much time re-doing all of it but you chalked it up to being human and moved on. Also, I was just gifted a 10 yesr old Cricut machine thingy and while looking into all of the projects that it can do, I found that it will print a stencil to be used with a wood burning paste. Print the stencil, apply to wood, rub cream onto wood and wait 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove cream, remove stencil and use a heat gun to get the amount of burn desired. It might come in handy 7 years from now when you can't find this calendar!
Thanks! I just found the button to send a thank you tip. It's not much, but thank you for what you do. Maybe go buy yourself a coffee. Or even better yet, a hot cocoa.
Good Lord Man…it’s PHENOMENAL! Give yourself more credit. The creative process is always a process and it LOOKS FANTASTIC! Reading forever calendars is always hard. I got one from India once. It was 2 circular years. The outside wheel was the year and the inside year was the dates of the month. AS long as you lined up the year and the month, you got the correct day. Whew! Someone spent a long time figuring that out. But once they got it, it worked like a charm. You are the guy who figured it out and that ALWAYS takes time, trials, errs and correction! Thank you for blowing my mind and making something gorgeous!
For your glueup, go ahead and use the Titebond III for the main holding, and put a couple drops of superglue on to tack them together while the Titebond cures. That'll hold a lot longer than relying on superglue for the whole joint.
My good man this is an awesome idea! Seems like a good project for a gift, I love it! Thanks for making the plans available for us, your videos are awesome. Woodworking and good humor always go together!
Love the plans and just in time to knock out a last minute gift. Also love that you kept in the mistake of the size. Good reminder its not if we make mistakes but how we fix them.
Love your channel and humor. You make my start in woodworking so much easier. I have quit beating myself up when I mess up. I now chalk it up as human, try to correct or just start over. Thank you for not removing your mistakes. 😀
Most likeable woodworking channel with the star of the show...I honestly got lost with all the math, I got distracted and was looking for the box in the top right corner for counting "how many times the word fraction". Now I have to replay this video..😂 Like your personality!!
Aaron you are by far a cut above the rest of the woodworkers on UA-cam because of your free plans and your enthusiasm to encourage others to try building stuff as well! Keep up the great work and the excellent content!
Mathing is super hard for me too. Da struggle is really real, just to inform those number centered folks out there. 😅 I absolutely love this project! It's very unique! I mean, it probably isn't unique, but I've never seen one, and would make an excellent homemade gift. Thanks for this!
I appreciate the free plans. I've been caught more than once watching a video and then going over to their website to get the plans only to find out that they're $9.99
What a Fantastic Woodworking Idea! Lol man Don't feel bad about the Mistake. Always Remember, 99% of the Time, How you recover Is what matters 100% of the time.🙃 Plus, You made Light of it, Entertained us, And Recovered Completely. And now, I'd bet that mistake wont get you again 😄.
I was waiting for that last minute to see the realization of the error, handled quite well though. Thanks for all the laughs and your lighthearted way of doing things.
Dude, you're a natural behind the camera, and I dig you are using Craftsman tools! I'm also a woodworker and a motorcyclist, so kudos for the cameos of your bikes in the video. But I appreciate your sense of humor and your candor. Keep up the good work!
Lol, shit happens brother! For sure, love the idea, love the honesty! That's how things tend to go for me, so I definitely understand. Looks like a fun project!
Great video and project! Just found your channel and I am enjoying it. I like your projects, tips, humor, and style. I'll be watching more. Have a great day and happy New Year! Marty from MinneSNOWota.🙂
You could make the outer board long enough to not only hold the entire inner board, but cover it completely from one extreme to the other. Then cut a groove through which you attach a handle on the inner board, and use it to slide the numbers left/right to make it correct for the current month. Maybe even have notches in the groove so there are positive stops when the numbers are perfectly centered in the display holes. The left and right sides would be massive pieces of blank wood - unless you carve or print/paint decorations on there, or maybe attach a clip and pen holder for a note pad, or any number of other things you might want to do to/with a calendar.
Looks like an interesting project, however how does this calendar compensate for the varying number of days in a given month? How does it "remove" or "obscure" the "29th", "30th" and/or "31st" when a month does not have that many days?
I'd be tempted to have the numbers small cuz then you can have it used to write on like a real calendar instead of having to have a gigantic square underneath for notes
Its called "Joints - A Woodworkers Guide" by Ralph Laughton. I first saw it in Barnes and Noble (with a hefty $64 price tag) anddddd I ended up buying a copy from Amazon for like $15 :) it is packed with a lot of great tips and knowledge
Could you possibly include a parts/buy list and links (if any) I'm trying to get my own shop setup post holidays and I like most of your setup. I have my cyclone system. But my hosery and fittings are where I get boggled down.
For the materials or like the tools I use in each vid? The connections for dust collection are a hassle, I have a few links in my cyclone video where I setup my dust collection :)
Plans are in the description: click on "more" under the video, then click "more" to expand the description". Any plans I provide will be listed there :)
As an old guy whose father in law was a wood worker and made numerous pieces of furniture for his daughter, I can attest that Math is hard and the worst part about woodworking!

Love how candid you are. The real test of skill is how well things turn out when they don't go perfectly.
Thanks buddy :) that one caught me by surprise! Lol

🤣🤣 thats funny!! Freaking cramps ;)
Thank you for your humor and making it okay to mess up once in a while. I think woodworking should be enjoyable. Your projects help get me through the long Michigan winters.
Glad to help out!! Happy building! :)

😂 it was my biggest oopsie yet! Lol, i did like the original 60+ hole version though! :/
Oh, man. I can totally relate to being so focused and fixated on each individual step of the process that I forget to take a step back and see if it all makes sense. Thanks for keeping it real.
🤣🤣 right??! I liked the look of the 65 hole version too :/ lol
Finaly a project I can make! I'll do it with craft paper because I don't have the tools, the space nor know how to get wood in my country but I like watching woodwork anyway
This would be a fun craft paper build too :) happy crafting buddy!
That's exactly what I was thinking - paper craft project!
Same! I saw the video and my first thought was also doing this in paper craft.
Thank you for all you do and show how human you are with out editing your videos!
Well done! Been watching/following for a long time now!

Thanks :) its a gun build! Ive seen the cool spinny calendars online, might be this year's build ;)
For your glueup, go ahead and use the Titebond III for the main holding, and put a couple drops of superglue on to tack them together while the Titebond cures. That'll hold a lot longer than relying on superglue for the whole joint.
Freaking wonderful hack!

Thanks Greg :) mistakes happen, a lot of mistakes happen ;) lol
This is such a great idea. I might try to make a cardboard version as I'm into papercrafting. Thank you for a fabulous video.
Sounds like a plan! It'll work all the same :)
Big version is the stencil for the numbers, then cut it down to size :P
This is awesome, thank you for sharing!
Yeah!! I didn't make a mistake, I made a template! 🤣 🤣 Thanks buddy :)
Most likeable woodworking channel with the star of the show...I honestly got lost with all the math, I got distracted and was looking for the box in the top right corner for counting "how many times the word fraction". Now I have to replay this video..😂 Like your personality!!
Thanks buddy :) no counter in this video, but the math is pretty simple now that its half as much to figure out lol
Aaron you are by far a cut above the rest of the woodworkers on UA-cam because of your free plans and your enthusiasm to encourage others to try building stuff as well!
Keep up the great work and the excellent content!
Thanks, I appreciate that! 🪚🔨🗜️ Glad you are enjoying the content!!
Had me chuckling. Love your humor.
Yup, stuff happens. Make mistakes, learn from them, then fix them.

Those thieving square cut pieces of cheese. I call those videos realllllly long commercials for their 'product' ;)
What a fun video to watch! I loved seeing your design process with all its hiccups.
Thanks Emma :)

Thanks buddy! My wife and I started riding this year, took the rider safety course andd got some bikes :) happy building, and happy holidays

Thanks buddy! You'll be getting some snow here in a little bit I've heard ;) us too!
So glad I hung around for the outro!
🤣😎🎤 heck yeah!!
Thank you so much. Just what I was looking for.
Sweet! Happy building!!

I like all those ideas!! :) 💡
Not only does the coffee cup hold and store the mixer but it prevents it from getting lost and forgotten on the shelf of mystery.
Eggo-zactly!! ;) i stopped grabbing it by the mug handle a while back, it's stuck in there pretty good :)
lol, brilliant as usual
Thanks buddy :)
such a great video and project! " i never wonder what month it is" :)
I really don't :P ;)
Good on you for posting a video where it doesn't go 100%. I wonder how many woodworkers out there who only post their perfection.
Thanks buddy, I was really digging the 65 hole version too! Ohh well 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤣
Thanks
Thank youuuu :)
Oh man that was funny. Great channel.
Thanks buddy, I really liked the 65 hole version too :/ lol
Why did “cramps” make me want to speak like Beavis & Butt-Head? 🤭 I NEED this calendar! ❤
🤣🤣 not sure!! Its a fun build!!
That calendar joke at the beginning had me lmao
🤣🤣🤣
Loved your vid!! It was Wicked!! Sub'd. 😏
Woohoo! Welcome to the community!
What kind of finish do you use so the Sharpy marker does not run or bleed?
I used a natural Minwax stain, which doesn't smear sharpie or paint pens :)
Can we take a moment to appreciatie the vocals ?!
😎🎤 thanks buddy
Looks like an interesting project, however how does this calendar compensate for the varying number of days in a given month? How does it "remove" or "obscure" the "29th", "30th" and/or "31st" when a month does not have that many days?
Itsssss not that intricate unfortunately :P we'll have to just remember to move the board before February 29th :)
Great episode! wouldn't be as good if you did it again
Eggo zactly! But I was digging the look of the 65 hole front :/
I'd be tempted to have the numbers small cuz then you can have it used to write on like a real calendar instead of having to have a gigantic square underneath for notes
I like it :)
What book was you referring to in the beginning of the video
Its called "Joints - A Woodworkers Guide" by Ralph Laughton. I first saw it in Barnes and Noble (with a hefty $64 price tag) anddddd I ended up buying a copy from Amazon for like $15 :) it is packed with a lot of great tips and knowledge
Thanks for the video, great stuff, I see a Triumph in the video whats the other bike in the back ground, I have a custom made Harley type bike myself
I ride the Triumph 400, the other bike is a Honda Rebel 500. Picked them both up this year and started riding :) fun little machines!
Great Idea even if it didn't work out as you had hoped. also, GREAT VOICE! Do you sing anywhere else other than your work shop?😀😁😅😃😁
Thanks buddy :) i really liked the 65 hole version too! -__- The shop is where I do the majority of my singing
Lol.. love it.. ty
Thanks buddy. I really liked the look of the 65 hole variation, too bad it was useless like that ;P
Clever
Thanks Tim!
Woodwork and comedy at same time 😂
BAM! ;)
That's an interesting project!
I miss where the date of day is highlighted with in the calendar?
No highlighted date, you could get a cut of colored plexiglass and move it from day to day, that would be cool!!
@WhosTheVoss Thx 👍
I made the same design in paper, work exactly the same
I like it!! :)
The one thing you forgot to take into account for - leap year, where one month has only 28 days.
With the calendar set all the way to the left, it has the correct days, just gotta remember to change it on the first
try vinegar and steel wool for a finish its cheap
This popped up on a woodworking page the other day! Imma give it a shot :)
Can't figure out how to download the plans.
Plans are in the description: click on "more" under the video, then click "more" to expand the description". Any plans I provide will be listed there :)
nice posting even if you failed. We are human
Thanks buddy!
subscribed because theater kid random break into song
😂😂 all the time!!
Cramps and dementions? Clazy!😂. [edit] Oh. I forgot to mention that I captained a beer league ice hockey team named Grizzries Hockey Crub. 🙂
Hockey team!! 🏑 Sweeeet ;)
I dig that you didn't edit your video. As a beginner I look forward to making some of these mistakes 😂
Ohhhh I'll always be making mistakes lol :) happy building!!
Make one out of an uncut sheet of plywood!
Danggggg, should be easy to read at least!! ;)
As an old guy whose father in law was a wood worker and made numerous pieces of furniture for his daughter, I can attest that Math is hard and the worst part about woodworking!
Math IS the worst part! Geesh I wish they would have told us sooner ;)

Reason why (metric system) CM and m is better
#agreed
Where is Jesse, Tod?!
🤣🤣
Watching you do math is like watching me do math and I'm embarrassed for the both of us.
🤣🤣 its a struggle sometimes
Your ruler might be exactly one inch, close enough to make the grid you want. No math
Eggo zactly ;)
🍀♥️♥️♥️🍀
Thanks buddy :)
Ok I told my wife that "you can never have enough cramps" She disagrees.
🤣🤣 ohhhh nooo!! 🤣
Pop happens I work in metal at work we all make mistakes
If edge find a piece of stock and got distracted check again a little time saves headaches we all have opps
🤣 true that. Little distractions throw off the entire day! Lol
What about months with only 30 days or February?
Thats where the bottom corner 23/30 and 24/31 really shine :)
LOL. I really really enjoy your videos and projects but this was not your finest hour. 😂
Not the finest hour, not the finest day 🤣🤣
Wasn't expecting a musical number, but I can't say I disliked it. It's going to be a Poplar performance in the woodworking circles.
At least it wasn’t a musical lumber
Heeheeee, so punny ;) :)
I’m Asian but even I call them clamps.
Ive never heard anyone call them 'cramps', but ill be listening to see if someone ever does!
Thank goodness there are only 7 days in a week and not 13! lololol
Monday, would have its own Monday! Lol
Great video!
One problem with this calendar - it doesn't consider short years without feb29 and users must remember that..
Second - circles doesn't represent days of the week and days shifts.. And I want to see what day it is, because I can loose my count.
For this calendar to work, there needs to be multiple inserts for multiple year cycles..
But again, short years is an issue.. 🤔
With the calendar set all the way to the left, it has the correct days, just gotta remember to change it on the first. You could add the days of the week above it needed :)
Your 7 column version isn't going to work in months where the 1st is on Friday or Saturday. You won't have the 30th and 31st. You need 6 rows to properly represent all months.
If the calendar is set for friday the 1st, there is a saturday (30th) and sunday (31) spot in the bottom right corner :)
@@WhosTheVossNot within the grid of 35 holes there isn't
@@WhosTheVoss I searched for this explanation too long in the comments. But thanks, it is here.
