So did that solve the problem or did you end up buying a new trickle valve? Thank You for the video.

Sorry to hear that didn't work for you in part 3 because my 98 does exactly the same thing. I tried disconnecting
the tank line at the charcoal canister in the engine bay in case the canister was
plugged and it may have made a little difference but not much. The best
I've been able to do is 25 seconds per gallon filling and it is usually
slower which is a real pain when it is cold and blowing outside. Older
gas pumps pump too fast and keep shutting off so I have to go to a
Wal-Mart with new pumps that will pump slower. My truck has an
aftermarket fuel pump in the fuel line at the filter so I plan to get a
fuel pump assembly from a 97 at the local U-Pull-It and hope it might
help the fill problem as well as restore the Pump-in-Tank set up.
Did I understand correctly that it is just a small line that actually goes to the tank
from the bottom of that big filler neck? I wonder what it would do if you didn't put the trickle valve back in? I've read that the trickle valve was supposed to keep us from filling the filler neck with gas but as you have found it almost keeps us from filling the gas tank itself. I also wonder if a filler neck from a 1996 or older Disco would work on a 97/98.

@@philwarner6604 hi there! I've got a 95 disco and she fills fine, but if I miss judge the amount she has in her, the gas pump will keep going and it will start spilling all over.
Let me know if yall fixed the issue and if so, please let me know!
      Thanks in advance!

@@Zusu91 If you mean that the gas pours out from under the truck, it is probably because of the fuel pump unit not having a good seal at the top of the gas tank. I replaced my in-tank fuel pump unit with a new one and could not get the locking ring to go all the way on and mine would overflow at the top of the gas tank if I filled it too far. I finally discovered that the new unit had a plastic tab that kept the locking ring from turning all the way and when I cut that tab off I was able to turn the locking ring all the way to get it to seal. It no longer overflows, but the down side is that with the tank sealed again it is back to taking gas very slowly at the filler neck.
