- that's odd, I never got that message on the side before of minors appearing in the video...uh not really according to one of the spellanyzer analogies says Ivan Idea missed his high school graduation (at least in one of the higher levels) anyway I got this out of the way, and decided to take the day off from Amazon Trail..
and I just realized I'm going to have a buttload of claims coming my way, so credit to most background music goes to Associated Production Music (yeah I checked online for the manual therefore most of the stuff is theirs)..
yeah I know the agent from India does sound ALOT like Apu from the Simpsons.
Don't know about anyone else but this game scared the absolute SHIT out of me as a kid, the way the villains run at you just before you teleport is disturbing if not traumatising and the sets are so creepily tense and atmospheric, it still gets me now, even the beeps make me feel uneasy and insecure, instantly puts reality in horror movie mode. I have seen every horror movie worth watching and I find them so un scary I laugh at the 'frights' because I find it funny that anyone finds it scary. But this shit, is disturbing. This game is like a creepy atmospheric masterpiece, the plot is silly and stuff but the bleak environments and the overall dark tone of the game plus my childhood imagination have turned this into a button that can terrify me whenever I press it for the rest of my life. So glad I found it again lol, I wish horror films were this ambiguous and unsettling. It did not help me spell at all, however. It actually made me kind of scared of spelling for years after.
I played this game in the summer of 2001. I think it came in a cereal box.
When I was a kid, I was SO scared of getting caught by the bad guys, haha.
As a kid, I thought the villains could catch you if you weren't fast enough.
Well NO WONDER the villains keep finding you. The beeping and whooping from your little machine everytime you win is extra loud. ACME research department should really get on top of that.
Excuse me, while I relive my childhood.
I was so obsessed with this game jeez... My dad is now a retired teacher and in his school he sneaked it out from the computer lab and took it home for me so i could play it. Man those were the times....
The mad scientist scared me the most as a kid. And now. That unhinged look is just unsettling at best.
The sound design and interface for this game is actually so good.
The intro is super dark and freaked me out as a kid I never got to beat this game which is a shame because I really love the Carmen SanDiego games growing up
I love that Carmen decided to decorate her secret lab with dance lighting.
Definitely remember getting this in my General Mills cereal box. I played this game on repeat for years. The sounds and the games are very nostalgic.
The opening of this did weird things to me as a kid
I spent two weeks trying to find this game and I’m going to watch this as a victory lap.
This has had a huge impact on my life and I only just now realized.
we played this game all the time in elementary school's computer classes <3 my childhood right there
Freeing the Agents.
Doug Graves sure is a very scary character, his graveyard is the scariest of the hideouts. He’s the scariest of Carmen Sandiego’s crooks I ever knew.
man, such insane nostalgia watching this back again. Whoever developed this game had such a clever and sneaky way to teach kids about words, spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. This, this right here is how you do education.
My god, I played this in elementary school over 15 years ago. I don't remember Carmen being the villain though, that's interesting.
