When it comes to playing drums, this is the ultimate level. What I love so much about Glen's playing, is that he always maintains a recognizable groove, as a listener you can always dig it and enjoy. There are so many top level drummers who lose themselves in playing weird odd time signature stuff. But not Glen. He's the master of groove. I never get tired of listening to him. He combines rudiments, double bassdrumming, groove, sound, showmanship, all in one... What an amazing drummer.

Hahaha! outside of the exemplary chops and stamina, his comedy is great at the end stick drop. He is a disciplined artist. His workouts are not easy, nor new, but he makes it look/sound so smooth.

Are almond kits like Is the wood almost dead? I like that they’re a lower tone but I’m wondering if the kick has low end or just attack and do the toms have life

I have a Pacific kit also. They are great sounding drums for a good cost. I have the MX series which were their high end kits. It's color is emerald fade, it's a Huge monster kit, double bass drums and all. Pdp are very underrated because they have alot of different series and different levels. My kit just as good as a DW kit, I'm not kidding. With the right heads and tuning, it can sound amazing. I have the Evans E-Mads on both bass drum batter heads, and have a "TunePort" built into each resonate head. When I'm on a gig I use triggers on my bass drums so I don't have to use mics.Plus they are fun to just mess around with at practice also. I have the Gibraltar "Spider Rack" system....No cymbal stands. I will never go back to cymbal stands again. "Once You Go Rack, You never Go Back"

Possibly DW's best sounding shell next to the VLT 333 and Santa Monica series. I was like "wtf almond as a tonewood"? Being that either walnut, mahogany, gum and poplar are the better "soft porous" woods. After hearing this, wowza!! DW you always knock it out of the park :) Thanks!
that last floor tom sounded very disconected from the rest of the kit and not so good, maybe that’s why he only hit it a couple of times; rest of the kit very good!

This kit wouldn't sound nearly as good if they weren't using microphones in this video that's a fact! Sounds like they did other things with the sound and recording also.Glen would still sound amazing though. DW are considered the "Cadillac" of drums by many, and they are excellent drums. But you can get a kit alot less expensive and with the right heads and tuning make them sound just as good. DWs craftmanship, paint finish, quality, and hardware on the drums are next to none. If you know how to really "REALLY" tune drums and know which heads to choose for your kit you don't have to spend a fortune on drums. I have a MX series "Pacific" or "PDP" monster size kit which was their high end kit. They are owned by DW ironically, so it's great quality for a lesser price.And they sound simply amazing....I mean AMAZING!! They sound just as good! Just the drums on my kit were roughly 2 grand, I have around 6 grand total invested in my kit with the rack system, harware, cymbals, triggers, drum module, foot pedals, throne, misc.items etc. If it would have been a DW kit that size with everything together we are looking at roughly 19 grand. Big difference in price lol...but no difference in sound IMO. DW are beautifully crafted drums I will give them that. Best looking drums on the market and some of the best hardware in the land. It's all about heads and tuning. But don't get me wrong a 150 dollar kit for beginners won't work lol. I mean (example) a 750 dollar Pearl kit, 950 dollar Tama kit is what I mean. You dont have to spend a fortune if your not sponsored. Get a decent kit with the right heads and tune them right. Get an Evans E-Mad batter head on the bass drum and tune it right, you don't have to put any blankets or muffling inside. That's what I did, my bass drums sound huge, and perfect. On the front resonant head I put in a "TunePort" to get all the highs, and lows out of my bass drums, and gave it a punch that wasn't there before. I would put my kit against a DW kit any day of the week and sound just as good, if not better. Do your drums right, and they will do YOU right!
What a beauty of a drumset! Glenn has loads of technique but I'd rather see him playing in the context of a band. His soloing sounds like practice, sorry 😁
