Tomahawk Flooding State Forest Campground

Tomahawk Flooding State Forest Campground is located in Michigan's Lower Pininsula south of Onaway. The campground isn't well marked, and I didn't find it on Google maps, which is odd considering that this is one of the largest state forest campgrounds that iv ever been to. This campground is so large that it's got two separate parts that are a couple miles apart. A total of 47 sites give you plenty of opportunity to camp, fish, and Wildlife watch.

I’ve camped here several times and kayaked the flooding. There’s a gigantic ghost forest right in the lake that you can paddle through. Osprey nests. The outhouse host was a friendly garter snake. 🙂
