It does sound like a good idea. I think we don't have them for a couple of reasons; because a new apartment complex of this size is not that common in the US , the bottom floor is far too valuable for a hardware store, and in the US most apartments ( or what we would call a condo..Purchased versus rented ) are sold with most of the work complete. In the US it is harder. to get a loan if your house or apartment is not completed. The closest large city to where I live would be an area in the US state of Virginia that is a suburb of Washington DC. Called Arlington or Rossyln. It's nice Russell can cash out on the devastating crisis in Russian housing. The 35+% annual mortgage rates exclude 95% of demand. Outside of foreigners nobody can afford premium renting.
There are people in Russia who can afford these places. Not everyone needs a mortgage, and if they do. There are preferential rates for families with kids, or people working in IT.
@@TravellingwithRussell Anyone who can afford the price of this micro-apartment and is well-off enough to not even need a mortgage should surely would want to live in something bigger and better than this micro-apartment, no?
@DeniseDDS It is typical. While mortgage - in Russia there are dozens of state programs which reduce interest just to 2-5-6%, or just for free (for years of service), huge percents pay only rich people who buy n-th apartment. According to statistic: - 89% of Russians have apartments in own property (who have no - almost all just old elders who living with relatives because can’t live alone; in local culture living elders in nursing houses is huge shame). - 47% have apartments in own property below 24yo. - 20% of families in Russia have more than one apartment (and 10% planning to buy second it in next few years) - 63% people have summer house (it means de facto each family)
It's too modernistic for me. It feels much too cold. The colour choices, tiles furniture. Almost dystopian. But maybe I'm just too old school. The older style Soviet apartments are actually much more to my liking.
The space in the apt is great, the finishes and decor is terrible. Different shades of white, cream, glossy, woddgrain, black, grey, green, orange, bathroom walls and floors clash, wallpaper or whatever in bedroom doesn’t go with comforter. I could live in the space but not in that decor. It's way too mixed up for me. I need for the colors and finishes to make more sense, don't put glossy white against beige. Love the space with more attention to decorating I could very easily live there comfortably and it's a good deal for that space compared to rentals in my area.
Thanks for putting these kind of videos up. I'm not a big fan of these apartments. It's not because they're modern (modern can be nice), it's more because they don't have much soul. It's a bit sterile and to "informal" for me, just like a somewhat nice hotel-suite. My biggest concern would be the sonic-isolation. I know it can be extremely annoying when you hear your neighbours battles and arguments, or their TV's, or adultery noises during the evenings and night-time. Ideal would be something with a classical timeless look, with thick walls and floors like these old soviet buildngs and a modern, cozy interiour. But we don't live in an ideal world, right? 😄
That apartment sounds cheap, but I found out that if I did the same job in Russia as I do here in Finland, my salary would drop from 3,200 euros to 147,000 rubles. I wouldn't be able to afford that apartment anymore.
That’s why some Russians need people like Russell 😉and why you guess, are appearing now every day similar bloggers and very similar topics…obvious, not? In my job i would fall from 6.000,-€ to 70.000,- to 80.000 Rubel/ month, in Moscow…no joke…
@@arsa102 To me you didn’t upset at all! I also like to compare, when it‘s something to compare similar! So, i know, what my colleagues in Russia earn because i’ve been there many times! So, what Russians and other naive people like to do is comparing apples with pears… My friend in SP earns 3,40€/h in her job during her studies, paying 350,-€ for a one room flat!
I was thinking the exact same thing when I was lying in bed last night, funny enough. I am certain it does, considering the finishing quality of the kitchen.
Nice apartment, in Butler, Pennsylvania where I rent apartments that would be about $1,000 a month. But most people here, even if they are only one person renting it, prefer a 2 bedroom apartment.
40 free channels. And if you pay 6-8 dollars a month, there will be about 180 channels. Many channels from American, Australian and other countries. There are not many state free channels. About 8. These are mainly channels such as "culture", "sport", "children's channel" and 3 socio-political channels. Netflix left Russia last year, but people continue to watch it through VPN.
If you use just free antenna, then ~40 channels. But everyone nowadays use smart TV (local made companies), they connected to internet and for free provide much more channels. Personally I have several hundreds channels. While another my TV (made in Russian Samsung) already not provide any channels at all :/ So, which TV you use is important. Yep, there are several services similar to Netflix. Most of them you have de facto for free (use bank subscription or subscription to music on smart speaker). Also Russia have own version of YT, on it all foreign movies just for free.
Complicated question. There are dozens of state programs for different people, professions, families, etc. which propose fixed and low percent. Something like from 2% to 6%. Without state programs - it is something huge and pointless
This is interesting: "an elite apartment in Russia, particularly in Moscow, can cost upwards of $2,000 per month to rent, with the most luxurious options in prestigious areas like Moscow-City reaching as high as $10,000 per month for a relatively small space; this price can vary significantly depending on the size, location, and amenities of the apartment." The elite apartments are the next step from "business class." Not much difference between Manhattan and Moscow.😁
Space is still at premium in crammed cities. Also the harsh winter would make impossible urban sprawling in Moscow, apartment towers are more efficient.

@DeniseDDS It is typical. While mortgage - in Russia there are dozens of state programs which reduce interest just to 2-5-6%, or just for free (for years of service), huge percents pay only rich people who buy n-th apartment.
According to statistic:
- 89% of Russians have apartments in own property (who have no - almost all just old elders who living with relatives because can’t live alone; in local culture living elders in nursing houses is huge shame).
- 47% have apartments in own property below 24yo.
- 20% of families in Russia have more than one apartment (and 10% planning to buy second it in next few years)
- 63% people have summer house (it means de facto each family)
Russell, you will soon become a bloody Real Estate Agent mate, loi 😂😂😂
@@pat-2024 I hope I haven't given the wrong impression.. I like to compare things and I enjoy these videos. I didn't mean to upset anyone.
@@arsa102 To me you didn’t upset at all! I also like to compare, when it‘s something to compare similar!
So, i know, what my colleagues in Russia earn because i’ve been there many times!
So, what Russians and other naive people like to do is comparing apples with pears…
My friend in SP earns 3,40€/h in her job during her studies, paying 350,-€ for a one room flat!
Ruessll, Does that Apt have a dishwasher?
I was thinking the exact same thing when I was lying in bed last night, funny enough. I am certain it does, considering the finishing quality of the kitchen.
Nice apartment, in Butler, Pennsylvania where I rent apartments that would be about $1,000 a month. But most people here, even if they are only one person renting it, prefer a 2 bedroom apartment.
I am on my way, wonderful. Apt
Is there a Globus near by ?..?
I wonder how you hang towels on that towel rack?
Are there also monthly home owner building maintenance costs/fees charged for the apartments that are purchased?
A bit tired of the same design on this flippers aparts, however it's looks cozy
Yuri builds these for investors. Most of the apartments will end up as rentals.
No way on that price. For something that small, even if new and of decent quality, that price is high.
The price is how it is because its a business class apartment complex.
wow, very nice. Just wondering why Russia doesn't sell this overseas.
They developers have more than enough work here locally.
Any new family sized apartments Russell ?
Very nice
Hello, will you do 2 small bedroom apartments please 🙏🏾
If i can find someone to show me some.
Tell 'em they're dreaming
It's going straight to the Pool Room. )))
How many tv stations do you have free access to. Do you have anything like prime video or netflix?
What is the percentage rate to buy?
Complicated question. There are dozens of state programs for different people, professions, families, etc. which propose fixed and low percent. Something like from 2% to 6%.
Without state programs - it is something huge and pointless
No, I couldn’t. Not because of the apartment itself. Other factors would present a huge impediment.
Fair enough. Lots of countries pose a lot of challenges.
You could get a job as a person who shows apartments and houses, but specifically for new, english speaking people who moved to russia.
And who would move to Russia. Not much future there for many years to come.
I love the bathroom
Show us a larger apartment! hehe
What is the price of this apartment?
This is interesting:
"an elite apartment in Russia, particularly in Moscow, can cost upwards of $2,000 per month to rent, with the most luxurious options in prestigious areas like Moscow-City reaching as high as $10,000 per month for a relatively small space; this price can vary significantly depending on the size, location, and amenities of the apartment."
The elite apartments are the next step from "business class."
Not much difference between Manhattan and Moscow.😁
This was another Business Class apartment I did a video in last year. ua-cam.com/video/QBwTQgmfi60/v-deo.html Also in Moscow City.
In such a big country, with massive land area, is this the best they can offer? Cage sized boxes? So disappointing.
This is an apartment as short-term rentals
Space is still at premium in crammed cities. Also the harsh winter would make impossible urban sprawling in Moscow, apartment towers are more efficient.
@@jimbotron70 I am not criticising the apartment towers l, just the size of the apartments.
@@blackvikingeire Yeah they could be bigger, maybe the Russians are still comfortable with small apartments.
In southern Spain, heated towel racks are not needed anytime of the year.
Its not about southern spain though.
