A little bit about me… 🎼☕️
I am studying to be an opera singer and I am a “professional” tea drinker. (Well at least I wish I can call myself that).
Anyway, I make videos about both topics and share with you my experiences as an opera singer with many cups of tea in hand. ☕️
You don’t have to know anything about opera and you don’t have to love (although my plan is to get you to fall in love with it- Full disclosure) I just hope you want to come along for the ride!
That’s all folks! 🥕🥕
Come back every Monday for a new video, and don’t forget to subscribe.
And please comment below what other things you might like me to do.
I really enjoyed your "presentation" in that you picked up some words spoken by "Fra Melitone", such as, "Dico che la porta e pesante e fa rumore." Very nice!! "Forza is one of Verdi's greatest and one of my VERY favorites. I call its' music, "miraculous". VIVA VERDI FOREVER!!!!
Going to see Forza tonight and chose your video to get me up to date regarding all this drama haha :)
Excellent Synopsis! Off to see it at Covent Garden now and needed a refresh. Thanks!🥰
Great synopsis!! Love the entusiasm 👏
Thank you!
Made it to the end, and enjoyed it. Thanks for making these
I LOVE THIS, great job
Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad you made this! I've been curious about this opera because of A Series of Unfortunate Events
I didn't know it was on A Series of Unfortunate Events. I should probably read the books before I start the show. What do you think?
Avi Green normally I'm a book purist, but I think you could totally start with the Netflix series if you wanted. This is because the opera doesn't feature until the 12th book, and is one of the unclear back stories, whereas the Netflix series has several luscious scenes that take place at a grand opera house.
Also Daniel Handler wrote pretty much all the script, so tone wise the show is spot on, even if the story changes and deviates at points.
Either way it's a wonderful series, so feel free to choose whichever you prefer🙃
Thank you! This was great!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
My favorite soprano arias are from this opera, I dream to sing them someday 😍
Such great arias I totally get why!! Keep working and you'll get there 😊
I didn't know this opera, I'll watch it! Thanks, Avi. (Nice acting 😉)
YAY!! new opera on the list 😊 ! My pleasure! Haha thanks, I had a lot of fun making this video.
Still watching :)))
YAY!
Loved the ROH production. Kaufmann and Tézier have incredible chemistry, and by chemistry I mean "they should really have angry sex instead of duelling".
Also love the lil drawings :D Could you do Trovatore too sometime? Leonoras are really good at making bad decisions.
Hahaha!! 😂 Ok! can't wait!
Thank you, glad you like them.
Yes, will definitely do Trovatore sometime soon. And true, Leonora in Fidelio too has quite a hard time. Maybe I'll make a video about Leonoras! 😜
@@VivsGreen There is also Leonora in La favorita, having a bad time, and one in Oberto, who loves an unworthy, cheating tenor :D Why do Leonoras never realize baritones > tenors?
Sounds like a Shakespeare comedy turned tragic! But how's the music?
Like most Verdi, also starts comedy then goes dark.
The music is great!!! I added a link in the description where Antonio Pappano (musical director of the Royal Opera House) talks all about it!
❤️
Why does she die though 😂
