And this is were Geese dies for real in the fatal fury canon.
Fun Fact: The Arranged version of the credits song is sung by Geese's voice actor Kong Kuwata
After watching this series Im convinced Geese moved to Tekken to get away from Terry

Duck King, underrated character. I always like the strange an goofy characters in these fighting games, they're usually my go to, just to see how odd they are,but in case of fatal fury and kof, Terry is always my main.

Geese at the end like, "I will stain your hands, with my blood."
Some of the ring out sequences in this game are really cool. Like how on that dockyard(?) you can either fly into those light fixtures on the right and get shocked or get knocked into that cargo hold on the left. The door will even close and you see that whoever is in there is banging on the door.
Real Bout Fatal Fury!... Do you know how many keep calling this a remake of Fatal Fury 1? That is FALSE! FALSE I SAY! T^T The REAL remake to Fatal Fury 1 lies in Wild Ambition! (which... I've never played, but I know enough about it. XP) Admittedly, Real Bout Fatal Fury is a bit of an odd title, but this does take place _immediately_ after the events of Fatal Fury 3. Which leads me to my usual factoid bit~
(Remember to look at past videos for other facts if you've missed them!)
- SNK released an official synopsis of this game's plot and, as I mentioned last time (I think?), Geese manages to get all three of the Jin Scrolls in his possession but orders Billy to burn them all. It turns out that Geese does not have use for the scrolls and even he doesn't know the full secrets the scrolls have despite being the first person in 2000 years to obtain all three at once. Only the Jin Brothers know the full secrets and Geese does not wish to know what these are capable of. As such, he doesn't want ANYONE to use the scrolls to oppose him, and so he has them burned. Since Fatal Fury 1's events, only few knew of Geese's survival through the Scrolls of Immortality (which are actually seen in Geese's Stage in FF3, btw!), and Geese hadn't made his presence known to the citizens of South Town...until now! He begins an all-new King of Fighters tournament and hopes the Bogard Brothers make their way to them for the final showdown.
- Also, it turns out that the Jin Scroll Geese had obtained was actually the "Phoenix Scroll" which is said to speed up a person's recovery rate. That's how he survived his fall in Fatal Fury 1. But he was still out of it for a while (remember, Fatal Fury Special is non-canon).
- This is Geese's canonical death and the first opening of Garou: Mark of the Wolves shows the events of Terry beating Geese and Terry taking care of Rock; all seen in Terry's Ending... Fun Fact though! If you play as Andy, he will be the one to try and save Geese (and fail). If you play as any other character, Geese is just beaten on the floor.
- Following these events, Terry would continue taking care of Rock, as well as training and teaching him how to fight in the streets of South Town. Between Real Bout 1 and Garou: MOTW, Terry and Rock would eventually move into Second South Town where the next KOF tournament, KOF: Maximum Mayhem, would take place... But more on that in the Garou video coming soon~ (Or watch it now if it's out!)
- This is the only canon game in the Real Bout series. Real Bout Fatal Fury Special and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 are not canon.
- Though with that said, Real Bout Fatal Fury Special includes NIGHTMARE GEESE, a hidden special boss that you get after beating Krauser under special circumstances. He wasn't called "Nightmare Geese" at the time, but he was called that by fans because the text "NIGHTMARE" appears before fighting him. Maximum Impact 2 canonized the name and KOF games, most recently KOF 14 started using it too. But anyway, Nightmare Geese in RBSP is true to it's name. He hits much harder than normal Geese ever has and if you get hit by his Raging Storm? Give up now. If you have full health, that attack takes away ALMOST ALL OF IT! You'll have a pixel left! So imagine what happens if you took only one tiny hit prior!
- As stated in the FFSpecial video, SNK borrowed some plot elements from the Fatal Fury anime (similar to how Capcom did with the SF2 Animated Movie). The scar on Geese's chest was caused by Krauser when Geese attempted to kill their father for causing his mother's death. Krauser even kicked Geese out of their home and Geese was forced to fend for himself, even receiving training from Tung Fu Rue alongside Jeff Bogard and Cheng Sinzan. These scenarios were reused for Geese's backstory in The King of Fighters Destiny show that's on UA-cam for free (said show is based on the KOF Destiny mobile game). In fact, the show was a blend between the events of Fatal Fury 1 and KOF '94 with the main antagonists being Geese and Rugal in their own respective plots: The Bogard Brothers (plus Joe) wanting to defeat Geese to avenger their father and Kyo and his team trying to win KOF. Overrall, Rugal is the true main antagonist as the characters all gang up on him in the end. (Probably should've mentioned this in the KOF '94 video. ^^U)
- Oh, and Geese is also playable in the PlayStation exclusive game, Real Bout Garou Densetsu Special Dominated Mind, a port of Real Bout Fatal Fury Special with new plot elements! While Geese is playable in the game, he actually has a halo above his head to remind us that he did in fact die.
- Real Bout Garou Densetsu Special Dominated Mind COULD be canon, but I doubt it. However, the plot alone is harmless enough that it can fit into canon nicely, especially since it takes place shortly after Geese's death and a new villain named White (an obvious reference Alexander DeLarge from Clockwork Orange) attempts to take over. The game's protagonist is a character named Alfred who actually debuted in Real Bout 2 as a Special Boss (who, like Nightmare Geese in Real Bout Special, hits HARD) who is traveling around the world on his plane searching for White until he lands in South Town. He was rather inspired by Terry's heroic legend and eventually got to meet him in this game and befriend him by the end. The game has animated cutscenes too.
- White and Alfred make cameo appearances in future games, and Alfred even appears as a Striker in the Dreamcast port of KOF '99 (but I'm getting ahead of myself... I can talk more about that since Max actually DID play KOF' 99! YAY! I have so much to talk about~! X3).
- The game reuses a LOT of Fatal Fury 3's assets while adding new assets like returning fighters Duck King, Kim Kaphwan, and Billy Kane himself. That means music is mostly reused with only a few new tracks like the returning fighters having new themes (Duck King's theme would be reused in the rest of the Real Bout games though), a new theme for the "VS Screen" in Arcade Mode, and the credits theme.
- Though the Jin Brothers are playable in this game and future Real Bout games. Following the events of Fatal Fury 3, they are repenting for their past misdeeds caused by their ancestors spirits (they were possessed by their ancestors' angry spirits, yeah), living under the wing of Tung Fu Rue. Chonshu even becomes a student of Kim Kaphwan.
- Speaking of the Jin Bros, I forgot to mention one fact about them in FF3 (then again, Max didn't even get a chance to fight Chonshu so I forgot lol). Originally, Chonrei was supposed to have a split personality; a masculine and feminine side. The designers liked both sides equally so they just gave Chonrei a twin brother named Chonshu... who has the feminine side. I wonder how many people thought he was female? I sure did when I was younger... ^_^U But that's enough of that.
- No matter what, Yamazaki and Billy Kane will be the final two opponents you face before Geese (in that order).
- There are only 5 stages in this game. Yup, only five. That's it. There's at least 3 variants of each stage, though.
- This game presents the "Out of Bounds" mechanic where you can knock your opponent into an out of bounds area. Be careful though! You can actually knock yourself out! Yeah, all you have to do is just walk into the area to get "Out of Bounds"! ...Though with that said, the Japanese version of the game has something rather lewd happen to Blue Mary. In the first stage, if you get her knocked out of the ring (and NOT hit the sign above because that can happen), she'll fall in the water and come up... but her top is gone and her chest is on full display for a second! No censoring! O_O Obviously, the US release cut this out.
- Billy's ending is a bit of a continuation of Joe's ending from FF3. After taking of the Geese impostor (I'm still confused on this one... it's been a thing since FF2 apparently...), he takes his sister, Lilly, back from Joe much to his dismay.
- Here's a random fact about Terry! He can accurately guess a woman's measurements just by glancing at her! Yeah! (Oh, and he hates Cigarettes, just like Billy does!... Even though in one of the ending pics of KOF 2002 UM, Billy is CLEARLY seen with a cigarette! Oops??? (And in that same picture, he has the "NO SMOKING" logo on the back of his jacket!!?!))
That's all for now!
(Also, I did upload this in the first upload, but that one was taken down. ^^; This is a reupload it seems!)
Yup, the real remake is indeed Wild Ambition. What that game adds to the story is how old Ryo Sakazaki(remember him?)would *actually* be in the year 1991(he's 35, by the way. How I worked it out is that he's 4 years older than Yuri, who in turn, is 10 years older than Terry(that still surprises me to this day)), which is why he's called Mr. Karate there.
@@Ticketman99 In that game and Neo Geo Battle Colosseum, he's known as Mr. Karate II if I'm not mistaken~

25:22 The sound of "Gees-ah" is quite hilarious to me. Plenty of gold in the English translation of this SNK era.
To think snk inovated so much for the fighting game genre and nobody talks about it
They were always trying new things
Yep that's what happens when people only expose themselves to "popular" games. Most of the tech people love about CvS2 is SNK tech. Supers, Tag Engine, "Alpha Counters", 3v3 engine, Switch Plane Fighting System, Roll Evade, Spot Dodge, Short Hops, Hyper Jumps, Wall Bounce, Super Meter Charging and more are all SNK tech used by other companies.
@fml Mortal Kombat 3 was the innovator of stage transitions if thats what you're referring to. Real Bout was very close after only by a few months.
@fml Oh ok. Yeah SNK created dynamic stages. The Neo Geo had much more power than any console back in the day which is why games like Art of Fighting 3 looked so good for the time. It was a literal Arcade at home. You could literally grab a game out the arcade machine, take it home and play it on your Neo Geo.
That console allowed them to do so much more tech than the more popular fighting games on consoles but the Neo Geo pricepoint kept most from really seeing what SNK had to offer.

Almost All Snk fighters in Cvs are horrible representations of the original chars anyway. Many for gameplay reasons but some also look very bad. The game's style (naturally) pulls the mechanics more to the Capcom side, which ruins Snk chars.

Yea this is where Geese dies FOR REAL in the Fatal Fury series, tho he's still alive in KOF because it's a different timeline. Man i always loved the animations and the combo system in the Real Bout games.
Thing is with Real Bout 1 is that it came out VERY shortly after FF3 (literally the same year) so characters have the same exact themes they had in that game and there are very few stages in this one as well. Still I think it’s a better game gameplay wise for sure even if the presentation isn’t as good.
