I have lived here, in Pattaya for 2 years, and I have been sober for 38 years. I love the party scene in Pattaya and my girlfriend drinks and I have no problem with her drinking. No body else's drinking ever got me in trouble. i go to bars, clubs and gogos but I only stay a short while. I usually go to meet a girl or be with friends. I do spend more time in the Night Clubs, but all the waitresses know me and know I don't drink and my girls do. I stay to about 1 or 2 am, sometimes 3 am but never later than that. I enjoy the Club atmoshphere and the music. I don't recommend this for the newly sober but, I can be in the party atmoshere without drinking. Really, I have been in all the types of Bars in Pattaya and no Bar has ever complained about me drinking Soda Water, I like the fizz, and no new girl has ever complained about me not drinking, it's just one more thing they don't have to worry about.
Salute all the non drinkers out here raw dogging life. On the upside there is so much to do and if you want to get locked in on your health and vitality there is no better place to be.
years ago I last attended a professional PGA golf tournament, best players in the world. menu item at the snack booth is alcohol-free beer. I always wondered about that. events outside the usa, rowdiness is part of the reason to attend.

In Sydney only drink on the odd occasion when we go out mate but when we’re in Thailand on holiday for a month it’s the daily routine but we know when to stop lol

i found it a bit frustrating walking around there at any hour of the day, not a massive drinker myself but feels like the whole city is centered around sitting at bars drinking/being social. Walking around sober you really see it/kind of feel left out if you're not walking into bars dropping 1000 baht at each one on drinks.
I’m not a recovering alcoholic, I’m a “retired professional”. When your spending 7/800$+ a mo it eventually gets old in usa. Then you see that amount spent plus whatever else you were literally blowing $ on and see you can live an entire life without working in pattaya solely on what you used to blow on bad habits…

I'm a non drinker and been to Pattaya several times. Am currently staying in Udon Thani. If alcohol is so important to you that you need to ask the question that is the title of this video then you have a serious alcohol problem. Why is it not possible to have fun without it?

I think Thailand has waaaaaaay more to offer than Pattaya, especially for a non drinker.. Phuket has much nicer beaches, Bangkok has much more to do, Chiang Mai is more scenic.. Pattaya is a party town 🎉

I have been clean 16 years and have no issues in Pattaya bars and the girls usually say either 'good for you' or 'up to you' - not often sure really as a bit deaf from hard rock over many years.... 🤣 Hua Hin is chilled and the beach is my daily routine - except when it pisses down like it has for the last few days.
I have an idea for your next video that will be good for you and keep weight off and save money. 30 day no alcohol, eat once a day and some weights. If that daunting maybe start with a 14 day test.

Yeah i used to drink alot ...until i left australia and its drinking lifestyle/culture ... which is much worse than Thailand Its very hard not to drink in Thailand because of the temptation, but possible if you just stay away from bars
After you turn 50 you wont be able to go out drinking as hard so it will be a forced shut down. Your liver and others will start protesting and those hang overs get harder to deal with. Some people get tired of always being in a hungover flu like state of feeling.
i don't really drink, personal preference and years of bowl issues. But i felt like i had to drink in Pattya. mostly just drank slow bottles of premium beer like 1 per hour. you cant drink that much fruit juice without it coming out you the same color, water is boring and its more fun to drink with the girls. even if i am going at a slow pace. I think you can do it but your going to need to learn how to pronouns your drink as the girls cant understand.

back in the day i'd visit a hot strip club in san jose CA usa. i'd sit at the bar counter because if you sat at a table you'd have to tip a waitress and any girl that passed by. my order, straight cranberry juice, a popular mixer for other drinks. at the 3rd one, the bartender said, i'm starting to worry about you and those drinks. true story..
Is it worth traveling to pattaya as a non drinker? No. The whole city is one giant bar. The only reason I go there is so I can drink all the time without repercussions, at any hour, anywhere. Nowhere else I’ve been to is like that. That being said if I wanted an alcohol free holiday, why would I choose somewhere where everyone is drunk? Makes no sense. Not to mention the hookers everywhere. This part is tolerable because of the general ‘do whatever you want vibe’. But sober? Just go somewhere else.
I think you're off the mark man. Thailand is a Kingdom with very different laws and societal norms to the west. The repercussions here for carelessness are dire.

By repercussions I perhaps meant: lack of judgement for drinking at times or in general places that would otherwise be unacceptable. Obviously if you go too far or are rude the good vibes will end quite abruptly

Not at all. Bars make the vast majority of their money off lady drinks, as the mark up is high vs cheap soda/sangsom :)
