- After the war, the Freedom was repaired and hidden in a secret underground base in Orb, where it laid dormant for more than two years. It returned to action during an assassination attempt on Lacus, when Kira launched in the Freedom and swiftly defeated the assassins' UMF/SSO-3 ASHs. Afterwards, Kira used the Freedom to "kidnap" Cagalli from her wedding and brought her aboard the Archangel before the ship left Orb. Later, Kira used the Freedom in two failed attempts to stop the battling between Orb and ZAFT forces during the Battle of Dardanelles and the Battle of Crete. During the Battle of Berlin, the Freedom fought and destroyed the Alliance's GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam, resulting in the death of its pilot, Stella Loussier.
Shortly thereafter, ZAFT launched an attack against the Archangel, known as Operation Angel Down. At the battle's climax, the Freedom was stabbed in the abdomen by Shinn Asuka in his ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse Gundam with the Excalibur anti-ship sword from the Sword Silhouette. However, Kira managed to shut off the unit's nuclear reactor before losing consciousness, successfully preventing a nuclear explosion. His sister, Cagalli Yula Athha, later rescued him and the remaining torso of the Freedom from the waters using her MBF-02 Strike Rouge.

セカンドステージのガンダムや新型機が両陣営次々と出てる中で旧式化したにも関わらず圧倒的な存在感と強さを見せつけた名機中の名機。
セカンドステージはあくまでユニウス条約（核エンジン及びＮジャマーキャンセラー禁止、ミラージュコロイド禁止等）の範囲で作られたMSだから旧式だからと言って性能は比較対象にならないかな。余談だがデスティニーとレジェンドはサードステージなのでデュートリオン＆小型核エンジン積んでる（表向きはセカンドステージ）

フリーダムの､この懐からサーベルを抜刀するシーンが好きで何回も見てしまう。
セイバーをコックピットを避けてそれ以外容赦なくバラバラにしたビームサーベル二刀流(しかも逆手)も。
完全にフリーダムの狙ってくるとこ理解した上でミネルバからの支援ありでやっと倒せるのバケモンだろ...

こうしてデストロイ戦を振り返ると？事情と状況が違うとは言え結構苦戦してたんだなって思うし、それをライジングフリーダムではあっさり撃墜したのだから凄いよなって思う
そもそもキラは今まで陽電子リフレクター持ちの機体とは戦ったことが無くデストロイが初でしたからね。

確かデストロイはカラミティ、レイダー、フォビドゥンの3機の連合軍後期GATシリーズのデータを元に作られた機体とかって書いてあったような気がするんですけど
@@Asuka56433 フォビドゥンやレクイエムのゲシュマイディッヒパンツァーは、ミラージュコロイドによる磁場制御を利用して放たれたビームを別方向に曲げる技術。
陽電子リフレクターは力場と陽電子を展開することによって形成されるビームシールドの一種です。
デストロイ自体は、ユーラシア連邦の軍事企業、アドゥカーフ・メカノインダストリー社が開発した大型可変機。ザムザザーやゲルズゲーといった大型MAのコンセプトを推し進めるとともにこれまで連合が培ったMS技術を融合した奴なので、全く関係ないって事は無いかもです。

That because Athrun didn't really want to damage Freedom, he only want to disable Freedom's right arm. His intention had caused a delay in his attack. Kira already knew it, and wait for counterattack.

『DESTINY』では既に旧式なのにセカンドステージ相手に無双できるあたり、如何にキラの技量が凄まじいかよく分かる・・。

旧式とは言っても核エネルギーだし、あくまでもセカンドステージの機体だって得意分野なら互角かそれ以上に持っていけるかもくらいなもんだからな。だから型は旧式ではあるがだからと言って最新鋭の機体に劣ってるというわけではない

1 error, the explosion at the end wasnt the Freedom exploding, it was the "Lohengrin" from the Archangel hitting the ocean to get away from the Minerva.

@@Juelz87 upgraded? As in like tbe Strike Freedom Gundam? The original Freedom Gundam was never upgraded. It was just repaired back to it's original state. And even so, it was powerful during the Second Bloody Valentine War until of course, it was destroyed by the Impulse Gundam
specs wise providence is the strongest one. before destiny and legend are introduced
@@Juelz87I’ve always been of the opinion that the Impulse was created with the thought of battling Kira and the Freedom in mind. Shinn is a talented pilot but without the ability to replace parts, he would likely have been defeated. If Durandal wanted to, he could’ve given the Destiny to Shinn before the battle. That would make up the difference in ms specs. Instead he waited till after the battle to give it. The Impulse was clearly needed in Durandal mind.

Love the sound the freedom makes when it does fly bys at high speed.
Also, Kira is much more skilled with Freedom in Seed Destiny than he was in Seed. He struggled to protect ORB from Calamity, Raidar, and Forbidden, but he absolutely dogs everyone 1v10 in Seed Destiny lol

to people always arrguing Kira wasn't fighting seriously Shinn, It's partly true: At the beginning of the combat Fredom was exclusively sniping Impulse arms and head, but as Shinn take the upper hand with using the "no killing rule" against Kira by using suiicide assaults and spare parts mid-fighting, Freedom uses this counter maneuver at 10:16 and Kira is clearly trying to aim the cockpit.
Also, one cool little detail is seeing at 10:32 Impulse first throwing his beam boomerang then dives with his anti-ship sword, which will be Destiny's attack patern later in the series
Kira never aimed for the cockpit since its at the lower torso. He aimed at the mid section bellow the energy depo section like he usually does. e.g., Freedom vs Duel.. If he really wanted to kill there, he'll do a vertical slash right in the middle from there.. Kira is still serous but not to the point of wanting to kill him. If he really was, even whats left of the Freedom is a torso and an arm, Shin will die there. e.g., Providence vs Freedom. The very last time Kira was bloodlusted.
Theres also the fact that he wasnt really focusing on fighting Shinn, he was focusing on the status of the Archangel
@@Raydnt69 it would be cool if kira think the archangel got tanked and his berserk through the roof. he would still murk the impulse. but solo fighting the whole zaft army and battleships. and the impulse reviving himself over and over. ultimate coordinator vs the whole zaft. yeah shin will get the final kill. but the winner will be zaft but it be a close match. i think that would be a better send off to the old freedom. what you think?

I never thought about the scene where the hot head Shin fights Kira and only the hot head wins, I can't stop thinking and I don't really like characters like that. That's finding a way to get revenge because just saving his girlfriend costs many lives and I can't understand his way 😠

no strike freedom has a nuclear reactor that is more powerful than freedom, even the G series project 2 can beat freedom, the G series 2 project is more powerful than the G series 1 but because there is an agreement Junius then replaced all G project 2 batteries instead of nuclear reactors
and you know that physical shields have disadvantages compared to beam shields

Technically, the Impulse Gundam can counter Kira Yamato's “no kill rule" and as long as the Core Splendor was intact, it can keep replacing parts after parts.

When they did SEED Destiny HD Remastered, I kinda wished they at least have the Freedom upgraded to the 2.0 version to promote the MG model and gives a plausible excuse on how an outdated 2 year old Mobile suit is able curb stomp some the newest mobile suits and Gundams. Like they did with the Strike Rouge by giving it a new striker pack in the HD Remastered to keep up with newer mobile suits.
The excuse was always that the newest mobile suits weren't as powerful as the Freedom despite it being older because they stopped using nuclear power cores and other high power stuff due to the treaties signed between EA and Zaft after the first war in favor of stuff like the rechargable batteries and repair part features of Impulse. And with all the other nuclear Gundam's destroyed Freedom had the run of the place until Angel Down.

9:57 即死ポイント1 被弾箇所は左腕と頭部、どう考えてもコックピットを斬れていた
10:17 即死ポイント2 インパルスの分離機構は知ってるはずなので、股下から斬れば分離が間に合わなかった
10:45 即死ポイント3 直線的に突っ込んでくるためコース上にラケルタを翳すだけでも相打ちに持ち込めたが、わざわざ頭部だけを貫いている
種死全盛期のシンですら不殺が無ければ勝てなかったのを考えると、いくら当時は戦闘経験が少ないとはいえ不殺関係なく苦戦したブーステッドマンがどれだけ強かったかよくわかる。
インパルスの件は普通に監督がリマスターのコメントで足狙いってなってる。
my favorite gundam and show but this highlights my only gripe about it. The constantly reused animation.
The sf type 2 and rising freedom in the movie absolutely lack any mobility and maneuverbility it had here, instead spending the majority of any fight either being sitting duck and relying on beam shield.
We can say post destiny kira definitely lost his touch
