    Yes I had 20/20 vision my whole life and about 5 years ago my vision began to change drastically. I have issues with lighting like in the mall, watching television, reading highway signs because they reflect, etc. im near-sighted and have trouble seeing finer details like FACES.
    I’m in my early forties and last year I saw a corneal specialist and it was discovered that I have Keraticonus. Which means my cornea is sloped instead of being rounded to “cup” the eye. If you’re constantly rubbing your eyes due to eye irritation and/or allergies PLEASE stop. Rubbing you eyes thins the cornea which makes this condition worse. I am now wearing glasses but would rather the special contacts that I need. But I need to practice getting them in my eyes. My condition hasn’t progressed so cross-linking isn’t necessary at this time. But could be in the future. Fingers crossed.
    Bottom line Go to the doctor!
    I thought my sight was just changing due to age but there was really something more significant happening. Thanks for sharing great tools to help us Shay.
    Be Well❤

    I had invislyn but I don’t think it straightened out my bottom teeth so I ended up with the metal braces which I think was a better choice for my teeth. I do not regret my decision because having nice teeth really is a game changer 😊

    Love the video! I recently got lasik too in December and i too wore glasses/contacts since third grade and am now in my mid thirties. Highly recommend for those who are candidates for the procedure, some ppl have bad experiences but that’s a risk with all things! If you’re afraid, do your research and ask the professionals!
    One thing you didn’t mention is the eye drops every two hrs during the recovery for a few weeks!! I found that to be the most annoying part… not because it was painful or anything but it was just annoying lol, did you have to do the drops?

    If you don’t mind, where did you get your veneers done? I’m in the process of working on my smile and I’m trying to figure out a route for me… I’m in between Invisalign and veneers…

    • @shaynicolexo
      @shaynicolexo  Місяць тому +3

      I went to Rose Aesthetic in Dallas. I documented everything, so stay tuned for that vlog ❤ Also I would highly recommend doing Invisalign FIRST. You may end up deciding you don't want veneers after, but if you still do (like I did) then you'll be able to get minimal prep veneers where they preserve your real teeth. If you don't fix your alignment and bite first with Invisalign/braces then they will have to shave a lot of your enamel down to make the veneers fit. Also, as we age our teeth shift. So fixing your alignment is priority first regardless, because your veneers can and will shift without a retainer lol

    How often do you workout? Do you only do the treadmill or do you incorporate other things like workout classes etc? I just bought an elliptical so I can grab quick workouts without leaving home. And I can still workout when it gets hell hot lol. Elliptical and box fan has been getting me through! lol. When it cools down I’ll start back walking the neighborhood. But I’m thinking of starting Pilates and just going on Saturday mornings. #momwitha5yearold #hybridworker

      I do at least 30 minutes of some type of activity every single day, even if it's just going for a walk with my daughter. Making this commitment has changed my life! Also I add in weights, and riding my bike 3-4 times a week❤

That's why I gave up on workout classes lol I could never keep up with them, I would always eventually fall off. So finding what works for you is going to be a game changer!

    However dental hygiene is key!!! Having my 1st and ONLY(lol) at 38, has slowed my self care a LOT!. I will be getting invisilin though. And I feel you on the glasses, im near sighted as well and has gotten worse after my baby. Im not having surgery on my eyes, but I have a few more designer glasses 😂😂

    I fixed my teeth over the pandemic. To save money I did old school metal braces. So wearing mask was perfect. Instead of wearing a retainer I got a permanent brace on the back of my teeth so the don’t shift so I don’t need a retainer. @shaynicolexo
