  • Hi Beautiful! In this new series, I'll be sharing my journey to getting back to myself after giving birth! Becoming a first-time mom 2 years ago shifted my perspective on what self-care really means. From mental/emotional to physical changes, motherhood has pushed me to want to pour into myself more than ever before. So whether you are a parent or not, it doesn't matter...I pray that this vlog series will light a fire under you to treat yourself better. Self-care isn't selfish, it should be the standard.

I didn’t have any postpartum hair loss with my son and the weight fell off after having him, but my second pregnancy was a totally different story. After having my daughter my hair shedding was awful & Im just now really getting my weight on track after I enrolled her in daycare! She is 2. I can remember when I was growing up the elders would say little girls steal your beauty. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yesss I always heard that saying as well growing up lol But I think it's just an urban legend. And that's a great point about your experiences with two children, because every pregnancy will be different! But just know that it's never too late to get on your glow up journey. You are way stronger than you know. Make your checklist today, of all the things you want to change about yourself. A year from now you will be so glad you got started!

Girl, you're right about the elders' quote. I didn't think of that, but it makes my experience accurate. My first born with my son, easy peezy, 2nd pregnancy with my daughter, high risk, and the weight stayed, and I experienced ppd.

@@user-yd2mp7wp3k Yesssss girl!!!!! The things our bodies go through to carry these babies!👶🏽 I have found the weight will come off just not as rapidly as before. My friend found her lack of weight loss was due to a hormonal imbalance when she couldn’t get her baby weight off. Have a great day!🤍

Today is the day I'm finally leaving a comment. Sending a lot of love from Nigeria 🇳🇬.
Dealing with postpartum has been tough for me, and I'm still coping with it in ways that I don't completely understand.
I've had two kids within two years of being married, with my youngest turning 16 months in a few days. I've gained a lot of weight despite barely eating, and I think it might be due to the family planning option I chose a few months ago.
I used to be a size 8, but now I think I'm closer to a size 12 or 14. Your words about quick get slim challenges have resonated with me, especially since I was planning to start a new programme next month. I'm committed to going through this glow-up journey with you this year.
As a suggestion, I'd love for you to do a wardrobe-rebuilding video in this series, specifically focusing on essential items for moms. Many of us have outgrown our old clothes, and we want to look and feel good too! 😊😊

Hey beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to not only watch, but share a glimpse of your journey with us. This community is meant to provide a space for women to be vulnerable, while also holding each other accountable. I definitely want you to make a checklist starting TODAY! What are the things you would like to change and we will get on this journey together❤ Sending you lots of love in the meantime. Always remember that you carried and birthed two whole humans, so you are stronger than you'll ever know! You can do thisssss

I breastfed my daughter for 2 years and lost my edges. This was back in 2021. I’m on my second baby girl and 6 months pp and lost my hair and edges again 4 months in and it’s still shedding in clumps. Worse than before. My hair was just full and gorgeous. I lost my hair 4 months pp with my first as well. Hormones drop drastically at that time, so that’s around the time ppl lose it. I was just saying I need to get myself back. This is right on time!

Hey girlie! Although I’m not a mom, I’m watching this while doing my own manicure. I totally agree. There’s so many layers and identities that women wear. I’m 33 singke and back in school. I’m realizing that I have to start back making time for me while I balance everythin. So, this morning I made a list on my laptop about things I can start back doing for myself. I’m saving as much as possible because I do plan to go to law school. While that will be on about 3 years, I’m trying to take the time to turn things into habits. Like self care is a requirement. I think it’s great yo do this. We deserve to carve out time for ourselves. It’s needed no matter where we are in life. Thanks for sharing your journey Sis! I like your authentic content✨

I did research about it, the influx of hormones stop then a deflux starts! I read that continuing your prenatal vitamins up until year 1 helps. Chy ain’t nobody told me nothing 😂

I’m still breastfeeding my 18 month old and I nursed my first to 21 months and both times lost all my edges from around the whole perimeter of my head. People said bc I didn’t continue the prenatal vitamins but that’s not true, my second child I took them up to 6 months pp and still lost all my hair. This time around with my second, my edges are growing slowly, they’re coming back but VERY SLOWLY compared to the first time

Mine dropped out around that time with both my kids and I breastfed over a year with both kids. But there is definitely a change to a woman’s weight when she stops breastfeeding, and also her vagina only fully heals after she stops breastfeeding
