If Sony had these Debug units for PS1, PS2 and PS3, now I’m curious if there exists some PS4, PS5, PSP or PS Vita Debug systems out there (not that they all really need it since there all region free and not backwards compatible anyway, well apart from some Debug features, etc.), if so, then I bet the PS5 one would cost about the same price as buying all the units in the video.

I know PS4 and Xbox series X dev units exist. I'm not sure about PS5 debug units, but they probably exist too and yeah more than likely cost a grand or more.

I have seen PS4 development console at the con, it was massive in person.

Oh yeah, they're like the size of a 1980's TV.

Does that ps1 work well? I felt sorry to see the repair

I have 2. One works, the other I tried to repair and couldn't. It works about as well an early retail 1001 model Playstation.

I own 2 Debug Phat ps2s. Got one for $200 and the other for $350. Before Mechapwn, there wasn’t a good way to play import besides freemcboot.
I own a modchiped ps1 that acts as a debug unit and I have an OG Ps3 jailbroken to play any region games

Hey Jeff. So I have someone who is willing to sell me their PS3 Test system. I had a question, though: replacing/upgrading the hard drive...is it a thing of having to update the software somehow or is it just a normal hard drive swap like in a normal PS3? I guess I'm specifically asking if I there is some 'firmware update' specifically with the Test console that I can/cannot do anymore, if I replace the hard drive?
    Thanks, dude!

It should just be a swap like a normal PS3. I wouldn't update the firmware or try to unless it's done offline. I would imagine it would need special dev firmware. I wouldn't even connect it to the internet, it might get blacklisted by Sony and then you would have an expensive brick. However, I think you can install rebug on it like a jailbroken retail PS3 and you might can update thru it maybe. I left mine stock...original HDD, not internet connected, no firmware updating.
