I appreciate your insights on these 2 printers. I have a p1p custom upgrade to p1s. Over 3000 hours on the machine so far with zero major issues. Only replaced nozzles 4 times so far printing with pla. I usually print in silent mode as to not stress the components of the machine. I really enjoy the quality of the prints.
My first printer is a P1S with AMS. Not interested in multi color print yet, but the AMS is still great for having a bunch of different filaments ready to go when you need them or for automatically switching during print when a spool is empty.
Bought my A1 mini combo exactly because of that and it was so worth it. Over 30h but no multi coloured printed parts yet. I love this machine and it's insane what you're getting for 199€ if you don't need an AMS lite. I hope they will release an A1 "Max" later this year and if not I'll buy hopefully an A2 or A1 with another AMS. Really was against close source especially if they are using Klipper Features. The latest firmware obviously has KAMP. But will still get a third open source printer for PC and nylon.
I’m so blessed I have a cousin in New York sponsored by bambu and said he’d work on all my printers he has like 75 machines in a wear house from custom built vorons to to moded ender 5s to a wall of bambus lol I got to meet him for the first time and I wanted to live in his work shop
I e had the X1 Carbon for about a week, I’ve run maybe a dozen relatively small prints on it so far, PLA and PETG filaments. The thing is a beast. I’ll sometimes just sit there and watch it print, it’s so cool! I also have run the tests/calibrations on every print, and after all the review videos I watched before making my purchase, I’m really pleased to have had no issues at all, no spaghetti, no bad stringing, no stuck prints or warped ones. Really is a ‘set it and forget it’ machine. As for the poop, I just used the box I got from the filament spools and pulled my desk like an inch from the wall, the poop falls right into the box, not a big issue at all
Great review, my wife is getting me my first printer for Christmas, I have nailed it down to the P1S or the flashforge 5m pro , the thing I’m concerned about is the Bambu or so I have been told needs a constant internet connection otherwise it won’t work
Hi, i’ve got a P1S coming tomorrow and I’ve been scouring the net looking at videos, which have helped greatly regarding choice. They’ve also provided an insight into what to expect. This video and the one on belt tensioning are excellent. Having a good understanding of a machine usually results in using it in a more sympathetic approach and better results. So many thanks 😉
@@NotAnotherPrintingChannel bit premature for me, but if you do some, I’m sure they would be interesting and informative. In the meantime I’ve noted marked your channel, and if I need some help I’ll know when to come 🤗 cheers
I wanted a printer with enclosure for printing other filament than PLAS and PETG so I sold my A1 and bought the P1S. The P1S got a lot off warping with PLA especially on the left side. For every day printing cleaned my plate with hot water and soap. So I was disappointed and want the A1 back. Looked at internet and there was a lot of the same problem. What I thought could be the problem was the Aux Fan and that seems the solution they mentioned. Tried it on 10% and 0% and It worked for me. No warping with PLA. Hope it will continue so.
The P1P and the X1C used to have the same max bed temp, Bambu changed it later. The only reason I can find is commercial, they wanted to differentiate them further.
The mini don't have a lidar, it calibrate the nozzle pressure. The lidar6is an x1 exclusive, and kinda gimmick, it will run the calibration, scan, and send it even if the nozzle is partially clogged. Same thing for spagetti detection. The x1 can do it, but only if you use light filament. Brown, black, etc will just not trigger that detection and you just loose the print.
I was comparing to ender 3 pro, s1 pro, p1p ender 5 and cr10. Its truly only noise during startup and when doing multi color. The ams makes a lot of noise.
Well, the A1 mini you have back there is great for $200. I have one and love it. Super quiet too. My Ceality K1 is so loud by comparison. I have no need for changing filament colors so the AMS downsides and cost aren't an issue. As I print purely for miniature gaming, I paint everything anyways.
I’ve been thinking about getting 3d printer. Very informative video I love it , love you posted all the good and bad , definitely have more of an idea of what I want !!
@Bambo97 does it really help? Thats my biggest concern at the moment cause the printer has to be in my living room and 80 db would be too much, even if i am not there.
@@oibaf1420 yes it definetly helps. Also Bambu Lab tweaked their filament profiles so that they don't run the fans at 100% all the time. I would not call it whisper quiet but it is quieter than my Cr10s pro. Not sure if i'd put it right next to my tv or couch though. However it is definetly not 80db more like 50-60

@@NotAnotherPrintingChannel Awesome! Thank you 🙏🏼 you convinced me to get an A1 Mini. Would also love to know if you had any further recommended upgrades such as hot end nozzles and such. What's your take on Qidi Plus4 and QIDI MAX3? Still looking for my 1st 3d printer that can do ABS/ASA with ease. I'd definately get P1S, but the build volume is too small.
I would say it’s a good printer from reviews i have seen still has some flaws on reliability but nothing to bad. I would still go bambu because i have so many replacement parts and i know how easy they are to get
If you care about multimaterial printing, the Prusa XL is the only game in town for shorter print times and less waste. But the 5 toolhead XL is like $4000 and the enclosure is $650, so you have to *really* love multimaterial to justify that insane cost.
Enjoyed your video . New to the 3 D printers , I am a Laser guy. Trying to figure if I need the PS1 Or the X1 . Will be making earrings and small figures and do like the Dragons and eggs. Which would you recommend . The PS1 looks especially V the cost of the X1. I do Farmers Markets for my sells. Also how do you vent you printers because I wanted to put in my office . Lastly what material would you recommend for earrings , I was told PLA won’t hold up over time . Thanks
Honestly PLA is pretty much fine for jewelry. As long as its not left in direct heat. I recommend the P1S just because the price. It has built in vents and fans that also store carbon filter to filter the air. If you want to do mini and small prints the a1 mini is far superior just because the nozzle swapping capabilities are much easier to follow and quicker with less likely to damage components.
P1S is about $100 more than the A1 and it's worth it, imo. Enclosure helps a lot for ASA and PC, and the P and X series AMS is way tidier than the A series AMS.
18 hours for that dragon? I understand it has multicolor but it’s an only a few inches tall and seems pretty hollow. How long with the same thing without AMS take?
Seriously. When he started complaining that he had to change settings to use the same slicing file on two different machine types and said it was on Bambu Studios, I was done. Should have stopped earlier.
How do you secure the PTFE tube better? I can't have a glass riser because I print ASA which needs a heated chamber. I did notice it rubs on the glass like you mentioned.
About poop-chutes. Cant you just model a funnel and move the table from the wall a bit and make a huge box under the table? I think this is a cool problem to solve. 😮
neat. most of the negatives seem like they involved human error, granted exacerbated by the design of certain aspects not being the best, but when used correctly every time, these are non-issues.
@@NotAnotherPrintingChannel yeah, I keep on switching back between which one I want. It would be an easier decision if the p1s got a refresh with some of the a1 tech.

My older vorons i recently upgraded to have the siboor inductive probes, and their simply amazing. click print never had a single fail yet.
Good rundown, thanks, but shouldn't you mention that if they're online these printers send everything you print back to the company as encrypted "log files", including gcode and pictures from all the cameras and slicer? This might be critical info for you or clients you're printing for!
I have heard that the X1C is a bit more finicky when it comes of using aftermarket build plates. It throws up an error message when they don't have the right code engraved on them. I also have heard complaints that the printer is very needy in other ways because of all the extra sensors built in. Old school 3D printer users get irritated when the printer seems to be too smart for it's own good.
