It is technically a bit more complex then that, those worlds were never meant to exist in the first place if my observation of the basics of the plot is correct. Nyu
Precisely. The "heroes" were being pragmatic for once. They chose the harsh choice and sacrificed the worlds never meant to exist in order to secure the continued existence of mankind as a whole. Also, I believe that if they failed the test Origin was going to kill all humans anyway since he was gonna purify all the Miasma (and humans are what makes the Miasma to begin with). So they only had two choices, destroy all alternate worlds, or let every single human in existence die. And yes, the creation of the alternate worlds was humanity's faultto begin with. The Three Elder Spirits gave the Kresnik family the power of Chromatus and toldthem to Find Canaan and gain their one wish. The test was made to see if humanity could resist greed and temptation, since CHromatus users eventually go beyond their limits and end up creating an alternate world. If they had never used the power to begin with the test would have been cleared. It's similar to the whole "blood sacrifice to reach Canaan" debacle. Namco's extended information for Xillia 2 revealsthat all you had to doto reach Canaan was bring the 5 magical thingies and call Chronos. No human murdering required.
I honestly only see a bunch of snobby and board gods. They willingly created an omnicidal test that wrapped countless innocent people into the mix, creating an ever growing circle of pain... all for a test that meant absolutely nothing.
@@Blub31 I'm convinced Origin is a sociopath and maybe a pathological liar. Not only did the incredibly brutal test not make sense and mean nothing while being stacked aganist humanity (which was arguably not Origin's fault, but was something he could've predicted and he gave 0 fucks about it when he came off his sphere), but he blatantly disregards it's rules for no apparent reason. More than once. And then he says Ludger and Elle have to decide together but doesn't respect this either. Then the true "win" condition of the whole thing is to obliterate hundreds of thousands of universes. Oh, and every dimension gets to participate, but only the main one can win, everyone else can only go fuck themselves.

This game had some of the best character interaction and bonding in the whole series, especially with characters having their own episodes and stuff. Kinda felt like Symphonia's bonding. The Vesperia gang is still my favorite heroes, but the Xillia cast is also up their as my favorite tales heroes.
Im happy that Elle gets to live her life. I love the music and the drawings during the credits too. Overall this was a great game. Thanks for the playthrough, Omega!
the one thing I liked about the ending is, right before Ludger dies, he hums the Hymn of proof to Elle, as if a father would hum a lullaby to his daughter.
UNKNOWN 666 Yeah, she came from a fractured dimension that was set far off into the future. In that timeline, ludger killed Julius and the entire party for trying to use Elle as a sacrifice, then he moved and changed his name to Victor. The beginning scene was him sending Elle to the prime dimension.
UNKNOWN 666 Yeah, ludger is definitely my favorite protagonist in the tales of series. And that’s a tough role to have with protagonists like Yuri and Velvet existing.
The Tales of Xillia 2 Feel train has now docked. Please pick up your shattered emotions on the way out. Get home safely and have a nice day. For the next stop IS WACKY HIJINKS CENTRAL!
Wow, she's dressing like Ludger now.... You know, if there was a Xillia 3 with Elle as an MC, I'd play it. Even better, I hope Zestiria has Future Elle as a cameo boss.
Xillia/2 make multiple cameos in Beseria strangely. I wish they would just remaster these games and re-release them while PC games are on their new renaissance; before we lose them to the pages of obscurity.
I never truly felt connected to the Tales series until I started Xillia. I loved everything in the first game, and when I got the sequel, I couldn't be any more excited. What I didn't expect was how much I would care about Ludger and Elle. I laughed with them on good occasions, I empathized with them when they were faced with tough decisions, I wanted to keep them together, at all costs. So the ending really hurt. I wanted to cry when fractured Milla sacrificed herself, but couldn't. I wanted to cry when Victor hummed to Elle, but couldn't. I wanted to cry when Julius died, but couldn't. The only ones I felt truly mattered were Ludger and Elle. But in the end, I couldn't have both. It forces you to choose. And I chose Elle. I cried so much all throughout the credits, and cried some more when I saw her, all grown up, and everyone had moved on. I wanted Ludger to come back, somehow, even if it meant undoing all the good he did in the world, but deep down, I knew... He made the right choice. Thank you, Omega. Thank you for sharing their story for those who can't get the game. I hope you felt just as connected to the characters as I did.
Serious comment, thanks so much for playing the game, Omega. I don't think I'll ever have an opportunity to play any of the recent Tales series games, so being able to watch these videos, at least, really makes up for the lost chance. So, thank you.
When I first saw this ending... made me cry. ;_; The fact that Ludger is willing to give up his life to save Elle just made my heart melted. This is easily one my of the best, but sad, endings.
It's a choice I could never fault ludger for either. Because I would make the same one for those I love. To give them the chance at living a life worth every minute, and know it was worth making in the end.
I got this ending yesterday. So sad :( Milla's gone, Ludger's gone. I love "happily ever after", but I think the endings of Tales of Xillia (1 and 2) are the most "realistic". So I appreciate them, even if they are so sad :'(
Kinda hit me there in the heart a lil...lol Master Rollo is like "yeah I'm done with traveling with yall I pass you the VIP torch to pollo" all of that in one yawn
this was a very well done game, the story felt darker than the other games but it gave so much feeling into the characters that it made me very attached in their wellbeing, it has alot of heart and made me sad when things didnt end like i hoped it would, hope for xilla 3 but dont think they will 10/10
I just realized why I waited until Now to finally watch this ending and conclude one of my favorite stories. This WAS the end of my childhood, the timing of release, the emotions and character development that took place for all of heroes. This was the end, and I couldn't let go until now. Thank you Tales for all the memories.
Still bawling, and still would pick the normal ending over this. I understand this ending completes Ludger's character arc, but c'mon! At least in the normal ending Ludger lives and meets the woman who'd be Elle's mother.
It would be too painful at the moment. They know they can't be together until the humans and spirits have united and they've both accepted that. Jude said all he needed to when he touched his heart in that last scene.
Bittersweet as hell but...it still gives me that warm feeling that I just can't explain. Hmmm I wonder if its because I'm an old man now with a kid? But check out God Emperor Rolo he has a heir to go along with his vast kingdom XD.
I have never connected with a game as much as I have with this one. I cried so much tears for these characters. I feel so emotional and yet dead on the inside. ;______; I. Love. This. Game.
A very sad and bittersweet ending, which in a way leads to a possible Xillia 3. Ludger, while some might now like him as a semi Silent protagonist, made a noble deal for everyone and Elle, fitting the reverse of tagline when this game came out. I like to see this return to the Xillia world again, With Xillia cast old and new, maybe find a way for Luger to come back. After finishing Xillia 1 and watching Xillia 2 in English, I hope we return to this after the next game coming out next year. So I'll be keeping a look out for Zestria next year.
This is one of these endings in a game I just keep coming back to. It's so freaking painful, but so beautiful, and it certainly left its mark on my heart. I hum the song all the time, even 8 years later. My husband will hear me every now and then humming it to our cats when they're asleep next to us. God, I loved this game.
I had to stop watching the last few episodes, I have a tendency to never finish games I watch a walkthrough of.....so I grabbed as much money as I can and bought and beat this game last night. Probably the Tales series with the story that really brought out the most from each of the characters. I guess it was refreshing that TOX2 just mildly touched the usual conflict between the two territories, and focused into something new (space-time), because I've had enough of Exodus from TOX!
Sooo, did Alvin take over Spirius? By Elle talking about jobs, I guess she's taken over for Ludger and is now destroying fractured dimensions, but why would Alvin be giving her those jobs? I hope we see an OVA or something for the Xillia cast set in the future after Ludger's sacrifice. Anyway, thank for the excellent vids as always, Omega!!

@@Tython82 Yea my perception has changed. Next game we will have every character from Xillia 1 and 2 and Ludger somehow helps them in the final battle.
I wish there was an option for the wish to be '...'. That way, Ludger would stall for time until catalyst 1,000,000 formed in a fractured dimension, reversed Elle's transformation, THEN wished for no fractured dimensions.
this game was a roller coaster of emotions that i never felt in any other tales game before. im so glad i bought collectors edition of this game, but i still harbor love for symphonia (also got the collectors edition of that game) now lets hope zestiria is amazing as always. (and ill get the collectors edition of that game if possible
It can technically happen, make it Destiny 2 style with a mature Elle and mostly new party members. Maybe Elize can join (though she'll also be quite old for a JRPG party member), but Jude, Alvin and Leia will be too busy with their careers, Gaius will be too busy ruling, and Rowen will probably be too old.
Shit man Ludgar had a hard fucking life. He deserves some happiness. This is probably a lot to ask, but I hope in a future tales games that they reincarnate Ludgar as the main character.
Such a sad, yet fulfilling ending. And looking at Elle, 6 years later, carrying on Ludger's legacy as a mature pre-teen. Heck, her new clothes somewhat resemble his own!
I was just watching through the last episodes just because I'll probably not play this for a good amount of time. ...Seeing Julius hum that theme hurt me a bit. Then I blew up into tears hearing Ludger singing the same tune. I cried more tears when finally Elle hums it at the end of this ending.
Honestly if they do make a sequel (and I hope they do because this story still doesn't feel finished quite yet) it would probably focus on Milla and Jude again. With Exodus dealt with the only major issue left to solve is uniting the humans and spirits. That's Jude and Milla's department.
Thanks for posting! Great game and endings, but I wish there was one where Elle and Ludger both got to live together and be happy...oh well, it's all good I suppose :) btw, I love your user icon picture!! XD
i was challanged by a friend to watch the true ending (Aka this part only) and while i was watching it he was watching (me) how at the end tears started pouring like lakes from my eyes... it made me watch the whole thing! and it made me even more sad! Tho am not sad (i still cryed) and i can really say that ive never been happyer!
I guess dying is one way to get out of your giant, soul crushing debt lol
Lol,perhaps when he said i'm afraid of something else,it's his debt XD
Elle would've inherited the debt tho, sooo, poor Elle lmao
she isn't his real kid, she would inherit nothing. Not a single document of their relation exists in the prime dimension.
Considering Bisley, Rideuax, Julius and Ludger are all dead and Spirius was taken over by the united goverment... yeah I think the debt was forgotten.
Are you people saying you didn't pay off the entire debt? Well don't I feel silly.

this game was a roller coaster of emotions that i never felt in any other tales game before. im so glad i bought collectors edition of this game, but i still harbor love for symphonia (also got the collectors edition of that game) now lets hope zestiria is amazing as always. (and ill get the collectors edition of that game if possible
*I'M NOT CRYING I SWE-*
XILLIA 3 WHEN?
Honestly the Xillia games need another game to finish things.
@@montelhelem8707 Honestly
It can technically happen, make it Destiny 2 style with a mature Elle and mostly new party members. Maybe Elize can join (though she'll also be quite old for a JRPG party member), but Jude, Alvin and Leia will be too busy with their careers, Gaius will be too busy ruling, and Rowen will probably be too old.
omg she has his outfit
now i want to play as her
oh the feels are real, kinda sad though, i'll miss ludger
5 years and I know what's going to happen but this scene still makes me cry
Shit man Ludgar had a hard fucking life. He deserves some happiness. This is probably a lot to ask, but I hope in a future tales games that they reincarnate Ludgar as the main character.
a cameo maybe
Such a sad, yet fulfilling ending. And looking at Elle, 6 years later, carrying on Ludger's legacy as a mature pre-teen. Heck, her new clothes somewhat resemble his own!
Great work on the series as always.... will be waiting for when you play Tales of Heart R
I was just watching through the last episodes just because I'll probably not play this for a good amount of time.
...Seeing Julius hum that theme hurt me a bit. Then I blew up into tears hearing Ludger singing the same tune. I cried more tears when finally Elle hums it at the end of this ending.
This ending makes me cry a lot every time i see it
Wow this was an emotional game.
This is one of the most bittersweet moments I've seen in any Video game.
this is the only tales i play that i spent time so much 9hrs straight :D
Still patiently awaiting for Tales of Xillia 3 where we can play as Elle
This part made me cry .
i thought i preferred the "normal" ending story line but they put so much more into this ending i now cant decide... some tears though for this one.
Are you going to go and do the special dungons and gwt thier fell arms?
It would be great having a Xillia 3 either starring Elle as the Protag or one of the main characters along side with Elize a new set of cast.
The feels were too great in this game
M-my heart.... is tearing ITSELF APART!!!!!! OMG THE FEELS!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BREATH!!!!!
Me too GIRL BECAUSE I MISS my old friends from BATON ROUGE and the CHURCH WAITING FOR me
God. Now I want a sequel to this where Elle gets playtime. She would be such a fun character to play as.
Honestly if they do make a sequel (and I hope they do because this story still doesn't feel finished quite yet) it would probably focus on Milla and Jude again. With Exodus dealt with the only major issue left to solve is uniting the humans and spirits. That's Jude and Milla's department.
God this ending is so cute. Definitely made the game feel better to me. Having rollo with her, and pollo the kitty is so wholesome. 😭
Geh... urrrg... FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS
hey omega are you going to do the arena ending at some point or is the playthrough ending on this video
I love this game, and admittedly, I came here because I had the idea of putting "may I stand unshaken" here over ludger's death.
Yoooo I love this game
Thanks for posting! Great game and endings, but I wish there was one where Elle and Ludger both got to live together and be happy...oh well, it's all good I suppose :)
btw, I love your user icon picture!! XD
So now Elle is the one who has to pay Ludger monster debt??
I just realised Elle is dressed similar to Ludger and Rollo (Our lord and master) has a lil baby dat looks so cute
i was challanged by a friend to watch the true ending (Aka this part only)
and while i was watching it he was watching (me) how at the end tears started pouring like lakes from my eyes... it made me watch the whole thing! and it made me even more sad! Tho am not sad (i still cryed) and i can really say that ive never been happyer!
Probably my favorite tales game
what does Elle means, when she wanted to make a new world? by using the Chromatus? sorry, i haven't played Xilia 2 yet
All aboard the sad "ending" and feels train!!!
