You’re a legend. Thx for showing this the way you show things. I think big companies should invest in creators like you with these crazy tutorials instead of their boring and clean ones.
Had no idea about linking tracks. I have 5 songs to edit drums with... did 2 and they took 1 hour and 20/ 1hour and 40. Lets see how much time linking tracks saves. I've always done everything inside of Ableton but was thinking of getting reaper for this...
Wow thank you I'll have to try this out- especially linking tracks together. I know of quantizing, but when I apply it to each channel individually and then listen to the final product, it often sounds even worse than a drum machine with random issues here and there (def moreso with fills bleeding into my overheads). Hopefully quantizing while linked channels will help with that!
So well explained!! Best teacher ever. I would like to know wich amp sim you think is good for punkrock or wich you use when don’t use real amps or ableton nativ effects. I use amplitube 4 and it’s time to upgrade. Have you any sugestion? Thanx for the videos!!
@@JulianGrimmMusic oh! Thanx! I look both yesterday TH-U looks nice and have a lot of diferents amps and sounds grate, today I try the Neural DSP Archetype Nolly and sounds amazing, less gear but so robust, I think I Buy this one. Thanx again!!
Hey brother! I just discovered your chanel (amazing). So I subscribed! Please tell me: have you noticed a degradation in sound when warping multitracked recordings such as drums? That's my biggest fear when using the warp function in Ableton. Any thoughts? I'm upgrading to Live 11 because of you.
There’s always a bit of degradation. I can hear it depending on warp mode but for drums if you leave it on Beats mode I believe the benefits in the mix far surpass the degradation of sound.
@@JulianGrimmMusic Just gave it a try. My overheads were all distorted when I used the warp function. Had to start all over again. I don't think I'll be using it ever again on multimic recordings. The linking function works great though.
it's fine... it's fiiiine... IT"S FINE!!!
Great tutorial btw

very happy for linked tracks. Think I'll always mix in PT, but I might just start doing my edits in Live now...

Hey man! Still no reply after one month. Have you noticed a degradation in sound quality when using the warp function?

I don't like Quantized drums as they sound far too robotic.
