This feels more like watching the descent towards a psychotic break than a tutorial
It's great
But you did learn a lot, didn't you?
Thats what keeps viewers hooked, mental suffering
and not in a good way
@@peterg5383 yes in a good way
He’s in so much physical pain i love it
😂
Love that. Its like it matches my internal pain
"Tame Miata" is what got me. Their song "the more I know the worse" is really popular amongst the youth of today.
*emotional pain
psychological pain
As someone who went to music school, this shit is too accurate.
That part about him freaking out over it being a "Mult-Sample" kit is so fucking legit haha. They'll still be like "Oh you're using multi-samples!?" like its some brand new thing
Right? My mom didn't show me warmth as a child either haha
Relate 100
Please bring back this character xD
He needs a verse on a This Is War

"Young People's Drums" is the funniest joke I've encountered all month. Good work
Hahhaa yeah
Lmao
😂
HAHAHAHA
Those modern drum sounds are such cancer
10/10 impression of the Biology teacher that got bullied by my classmates in middle school and left the school suddenly to go "study in the jungles of South America"
I'm sure they didn't miss you.
@@estebanb7166 we don’t want em to
Wow your classmates are so strong and amazing. How do I be more like them.
@@AceDeclan Drink Capri-sun, wear Nike, and slowly get gentrified out by upper-middle class Silicon Valley.
Damn that sucks
This is like the 4 am adult swim of producer channels
Pure gold🤜
What was that 4am show called? The one that had an episode theme and was loosely related videos. I remember loving the episode on, color
@@greensleeves32 Off the Air. The absolute best way to be on hallucinogens.
Mac Demarco has made some pretty unhinged audio "tutorials" too. 😂
Prance Conners, Professor at Chico State. The tweed jacket, the head tilted down while talking and round glasses....totally classic and on point. lol
Cracking voice
Thinning hair comb over
and excessive awkward blinking lol
This guy is just great. "I make jokes because my...students...seem to like that." lost my shit. That and "Tom...I don't really talk to Tom anymore these days."
I think Geraldine ran off with Tom.
"Tame Miata" is a great rock band
Hey, now seriously, why is Tame Impala so popular?
@@bukkaratsuppa6414 cuz they’re good, I also like them because there music is very druggy, that’s why I like Travis Scott as well. Great artist attains great benefits
@@bukkaratsuppa6414 oh man, if you haven’t heard his music then you’re truly missing out. One of the best in the game. Check his stuff out
@@vanguardianofficial6048 I did, that's the thing. And it landed okayish with me, i see nothing to go crazy about. Ozrics, White Lies, Cut Copy, Keys to Ascention by Yes and even MuteMath and LedZep count to roughly the same vibe, but are a lot more interesting. I mean, yeah, there's a lot of stuff that's worse too, like Morcheeba, or shit i can't remember its so bad. But Tame Impala as THE best band of all time, the way they're praised, i don't see why.
@@bukkaratsuppa6414 no one here said tame impala is the best bro every musician has their followers who think they’re the greatest gift from god for example everyone whines about how great Led Zeppelin is yet others would agree that Led Zeppelin is overrated
"It's technology" had me bursting
plot twist! Prance Connors is actually Kelly. it's a fightclub kind of thing
The first rule of Jazz club....is 251.....the second rule of Jazz club is YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT JAZZ CLUB!!!
We don’t talk about this kind of thing here
His name is Robert Paulson
@@lexoflex5451 *His name is Robert, Paul's son
@@gitsurfer27😮
Shit, Underbelly. You really don't suck at tutorials. 😂
His area of suckertize is just different. He sucks at being glossy and nerdy.
What do you mean underbelly
can we acknowledge that sick bass line and those beautiful piano chords?!
Mos def should do a video about it
For real, this guy has serious chops!
It are basic extension chords
Agreed! I think static selektah used the same chord progression on the track "don't run" with joyner Lucas
This is so unhinged
Your acting was so convincing I didn’t realize it was you the entire time.
"Ahhh, plenty of computer programs these days."
I can't breathe.
i watched this video and gained knowledge but lost positivity
Plot twist: this time he dropped all acting, it's actually his real personality and the mother/Tom/Geraldine stories are true
Best video so far laughed so hard, Underbelly is a pretty good actor...
Who's underbelly? Are you talking about Prance Connors? Don't see any actors here
twist. this is the real underbelly now
That guy could be a character in The Office
tobby's cool cousin
@@Sataka23clips too accurate
How about "real drums that sound like midi"?
😂😂
Check out Louis Cole. Lots of his drumming ticks that box. It's insane.
@@itsbazyli Exciting stuff! Thanks for sharing Bazyli!
@@itsbazyli yeah, he's a legend, when he played the drum n bass pattern, it literally sounds like the classic electronic sample
Thats how it sounds when you listen to my music
I love the dedication to the role.
The pain he goes through when he plays the dubstep samples XD
Dude is in character, making jokes in character, AND laying down a BADASS, clearly expressed tutorial on JAZZ drums. You, sir, most definitely Do Not Suck! Let's see more of this character, as well! 👍👍😜
“My mother wouldn’t allow it, so…heh, here we are, heh…” Oof.
This guy may seem like a square, but he's hip and dizzy with the new beat-bop. 5 Stars, great educational film!
The kids just love that rock and roll music. Gotta keep up with the times.
the physical pain listening to the dubstep snares KILLED ME 😭😭😭
You, sir are brilliant. Your character is spot on and it's inspiring to watch you use technology in such an entertaining and educational way. Thank you so much.
this one is for sure a favourite of mine , super fun to watch and some of those wee tips are life changing
I love absurdist humor and mixing it with a music tutorial is just pure genius!
Literally laughing out loud mere seconds into this video. These new characters make Uncle Joe seem like child's play
I still love uncle joe
I love this dude. This is one of the most entertaining music tutorials I've seen. Legitimately funny and informative. You've earned yourself a sub from me, bucko.
This series is great, I can’t wait until you discuss half time grooves
Honestly, your characters are s tier. Seems like you’re ready for a bigger venue or something. More people need to see this.
I love how hilarious and yet still educational this is 100/10
Thank you for giving a live drum tutorial! The acting gets better and better each time! I really appreciate your work Mr.Underbelly
holy smokes.. just recently stumbled across your channel and it's brilliant. Literally all of it. You go above and beyond to entertain and your lessons are laser focused. Truly gifted at your craft.
i needed this
I love the pain in his face
Bro, this is getting so much better everytime with that acting
How can I love that much watching this character having that pain telling other people's success story lmao
I can't wait to see him back in other videos
Geraldine's lucky to have found someone who can make midi drums sound so real
Damn good actor imo
This is both useful and comedic gold! I hope to see more of this guy.
Bro these are a masterclass in irony and shit posting 😂 and I STILL learn something every video. Keep killing it UB
I’ve been having… such a god awful horrendous nightmare of an experience learning how to utilize midi drum kits and make them sound natural. YSAP you not only solved my midlife crisis, but you are also the funniest man I’ve ever witnessed. 🎉
These videos of yours just keep getting better. Hats off.
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours but I could quickly tell you were playing a character and the commitment is hilarious. Thank you! good information laid out with humor too keep it entertaining. Much appreciated
Your ability to embody these characters reminds me a bit of Kyle Mooney. The tips are also always so useful! Thanks!
The video I’ve been waiting for with this drum series love u underbelly
the beat at the end is unironically a Tyler b-side
I love the characters you play in some of you’re videos. Makes your videos interesting and unique keep it up!!!
When I have to use drum machines I like to record them on analog tape along with the bass and guitars. All the great drums sounds we have ever heard have been recorded this way, and the tape adds it’s own limiting, compression, and eq due to the physical nature of magnetic tape and the way it responds when saturated with sounds. In a perfect studio I sync the analog 24 track with the rhythm tracks to a digital 32 track for the orchestra, voices, and acoustic instruments. Synthesizers really don’t need to be put on tape until the mixing stage since you can have them played by a computer synced to the track.
OMG, LOL. You make producing music for an old fart like me fun again. I can't thank you enough for your insight and unique choice of educating us. Lifetime subscriber here. If language is in check, I'll also show your vids to the kids. You are my hero!
How old are you?
It’s not
As a father of 2, I'm pretty sure any kid can survive a few curse words...

Dude tbh, I think this is really good acting. You really ARE this character, and this character is f-ing hilarious! Love it! His dorky "let's try to be hip to relate to the young kids", but complete inability to actually BE relatable or funny is ironically, so f-ing funny!
this video made my morning, Thank you for adding just the right amount of humor into your very educational routine
lmao "tame miata" secured the sub for me
Oh damn. I kinda miss underbelly
I did enjoy the jazz song that dank buds used though

Music professor here, I actually showed one of your videos in class a few weeks ago.
This channel is informative but has me in stitches. Keep it coming!
The perfect balance of entertainment and real education made me subscribe
Prance has to come back in the future! Such an amazing dude
This has to be some of the best content I've seen in a long time!
this is so chaotic and informative. i love it.
This was hilarious. I was chuckling and even laughing at the gags.
I was wondering when you'd break character and then I realised it just wasn't going to happen...
Ok, I’ve watching you for a couple years and this intro is the best yet
IM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE STILL DOING YOUR THING BROTHA!!
My mom been calling me a burnout but I'm really just watching uncle fungus slap some beats with his salami ... :/
Prance just made Gran Turismo menu music and i love it.
holy fuck man. I watched you years ago. I actually gave up on the computer side because i dont understand it for shit but i picked up a guitar and ive been loving that for the last few months or so. You are so underrated brother, you can tell that you really love making music and honestly you deserve well over 1m subs easy. Keep it up man youll get your break
You act exactly like my music theory teacher, like almost 100%. Every joke this dude made had us laugh awkwardly, but he didn't see it like that and kept making horrid jokes, same fukn response everytime.
This is pure gold 😂🔥
0:00 The amount of blinking is reminiscent of a Tim and Eric skit. Made me internally smile immediately.
Edit: squirrel bones lol
thanks underbelly, I feel better
Kind of feel like this is your best video so far, in every way.
Thank you for giving quality free education. It means a lot to me.
Oh god! This guy is a piece of art! Love the stupidity he is able to recreate with his acting stuff... He couldn't help himself with "variashition"... haha
This was excellent, Prance. Thank you
I know I'm late to this but I love how he is so nervous and unconfident he never looks at the camera, really nice touch
I sure learned how to do those young people's drums, thanks!
Oh, Papa Prance, you are so learn'ed.
I’m loving this character.
I love this guy 😂😂😂. Every single video is a masterpiece 💯. You laugh and learn something in every single video. He show every time alternative paid plugins in stock plugins in Ableton Live and it’s mean a lot for me. So I can save a lot of money. I hope one day you make a special video on this topic. You are my best Music UA-camr 💪🏻🙏
When he said "for wawriaschiztion" I felt that
2:38 I'll have you know that Tame Miata, the Japanese brother of Tame Impala, has a very unique and eclectic sound

This has been a good return!
Shit is hilarious!😂
The jazz track was fyah!🔥
