VynEL™ derives from EL Tape or Electroluminescent Tape, but has additional properties which provide a multitude of uses. VynEL™ is extremely flexible, which makes it take the shape of any number of products. From fabrics, textiles, walls, and more, VynEL™ allows for an integrated light just about anywhere you see fit. The bending radius is a mere 5mm, which is about 10x better than typical EL Tape. Next, application is simple. For fabrics or textiles, it can be sewn or heat bonded directly into fabrics. Because we've removed the stiffer metal backing that EL Tape typically has, it allows the product to take the shape of other objects, not the other way around. It's waterproof in nature so it's capable of being worn, or placed on any number of objects. We can custom produce VynEL™ to any shape, size, or color. Joely, you are in luck! We make 12V inverters that can either directly connect to the car's battery, or even a switch (sold by 3rd parties) so you can turn them on from the dash. Our inverters can power up to 700sqin, so prepare to go crazy!

I remember seeing this product back in about 2006 2007 couple years before the tram movie came out I remember seeing it sold in kind of a tape like that on the Internet and then all the sudden sort of just disappear if you can find it I wondered if the company had sold and then started marking it more towards safety equipment and stuff like that but I didn’t see become available again to the public until about 23 years after the Tron movie came out

Not really. Just pass the cost onto the end user. For a personal project, its still worth it to make a one of a kind thing. Just save your pocket change.

Can only the leading edges handle the temps required for heat-bonding, or can the entire piece handle (350F) without compromise? Thanks.
Thanks for your question! Yes, due to our proprietary materials and technique, the entire panel can be heat bonded with an iron or heat press without damaging the light panel.

What I'd the power requirements per square inch? And do you have a color variable type?
T Smith this is a little bit of a variable answer because there are a handful of factors that determine the power requirement, but on average VynEL consumes around 2-5mA per square inch. In larger applications this number is a little lower. The color is fixed, but we can make the panels in virtually any shape, size or color.
I would be interested if there was a way a specific shape/ quite complex design - could be cut out.

I want to pt this in my headlight. Can it be cut and/or trimmed?
While it can be cut or trimmed, we don't recommend it for permanent applications like this. Also, because it's not meant to throw a lot of light like an LED is, we probably wouldn't recommend in place of a headlight. What this would be better suited for is on a helmet or jacket, backpack or on the bike frame itself for other riders or drivers to see you.
@@EllumiglowPage I think what he meant was he wants to use it inside the headlight as accent lighting around the edge of the headlight and not as the main headlight it self :)
@@dcf476 While it can be used for this, I think you would find that the light output would be lackluster when comparing to bright headlights shining on it. If it's used for a car show or for novelty purposes, then it would be fine to have this light as an accent around the headlight. Just know that it will be washed out with other lights.

This is only available in a single color, but we can match pretty closely to any pantone in either on or off.

It can definitely be used in furniture. We use this same product in custom cars, boats, etc. to add emblems and other elements in seats, visors and headrests. This video was more to share what kind of ideas are possible, but certainly not an exhaustive list.

While it is cuttable for prototyping purposes, if you were to make a production run of a particular clothing line, we would highly recommend having it factory cut. In doing so, we can customize to nearly any shape, size or color.

How long does the battery pac last for?
There's many different battery packs that range in size and longevity. Some will take disposable batteries while others will use rechargeable batteries. Some inverters simply have a USB-C type input so you can scale your battery to fit your needs.

Does is cool in a cool white?
Yes, we can make it in a cool white. We actually have some new White ON and OFF shapes which can be purchased from our website. They have a heat bonding adhesive which can be instantly applied to nearly any garment.
