Disney is in a 30 year loop with original films. First Tron movie was in the 70s, legacy came out early 2010s so it's only logical to assume they'll try it again in 2030-40
If I had to put money on it, I think that this movie got the green light because those lumi strip lights were invented which reminded people of the first movie. Also the computer graphics had finally caught up to the audiences expectations which made it a win win situation. I first saw those Lumi strip lights on work vest about 4 years before this second Tron movie came out. I here Jared Leto (The guy that played the Joker in the Suicide Squad movie) might be in the New TRON 3 movie. In talks now 2017.
These suits are awesome. I want to try and find like the costume designer, ask questions or how they made the soup and what not because I’m trying to make the future flash suit.
So beautiful and hot for Olivia Wilde, Beau Garret, and Serinda Swan latex suit costumes with how they light up and have those discs. As for Garrett Hedlund, other actors, and a lot of the extra men are amazing, cool and good. The helmets that cover the whole face or are clear I find better. This feature needs some moments with Olivia Wilde.
the video never explained this but the lighting elements are EL (electroluminescent) which is a fascinating technology I highly recommend you look into!

Didn't they say it was "foam rubber"? It sounds like an expensive material only the special effects industry can make like that. And then include electronics? Phew guys, you have quite some work ahead of you!
this is how they should of made the Green lantern suit in the movie Ryan reyno is perfect for Hal Jordan with a better script an epic space battle a climax taking place on oa instead of Earth the movie would of been better
It's a little late but they actually used latex, thats the reason why the footage is reversed when the girls go back into their pods. because they had extremely limited mobility.

Oh I was just going to make my own customised tron suit with my own weapon and skateboard.

Erik Brickman Yep, you right Erik. Part of this development has an OLED tech, so expensive for a simple home-made-cosplay-one day-costume.

LED light strips didn't exist then I guess?
they would use LEDs as they are more power efficient but they also would create uneven illumination without some sort of thick defuser
This film sucks but the music is so good, this film is a must see not for the story cuz it sucks but for the music. That’s my opinion
