That's because Hideo's team gets screenplay on a level most Hollywood producers could only dream of. It's a movie first, and a damn fine game second.

I'd wager it looks so good because the remaining 70% is using assets from the Africa map in place of any new ones they would have added for this map.
All the trees/foliage is from the Africa map, The only new models I can tell are those white suits and those spiky logs sticking out of the ground. Plus I'm pretty sure the reason that Eli has no facial expressions is because they wanted to use a model that looked slightly older

its not that konami did it to money grab the folks like in a form of a dlc or something but instead its about kojima and how he wanted to end the mgs series obviously konami didnt like the thought of losing their #1 money maker so they decided fire kojima, rush mgs 5 out the door (making kingdom of the flies unplayable) and make shitty spin off titles (mg survive) for people with enough nostalgia points to buy it anyways. and that kids is how konami was able to fuck them selves beyond belief by one move because of "more" money

Well, this is more a statement of fact. Big Boss hated the LIT program, it's what made him leave the Patriots. He even says at the end of MGS4 he hasn't ever known what to call them, son's or brother's or what. They aren't his kids lol

I was wondering why Eli was so b-tchy throughout the whole game.
Turns out it was because he got all the RECESSIVE GENES.
He was lied to. He always had the superior genes, he hated Solid Snake and Big Boss cos he believed he was garbage. That was a lie though.
Either Ocelot or Psycho Mantis fostered that hate within him, as we see in MGS and MGSV:TPP. Only Ocelot, mantis and Solidus knew he was the superior clone though, while Solid Snake had the recessive genes and Solidus was the product of both being combined (which is why he suffered from premature aging however).
The only backstory I can imagine is that his handlers got super pissy at Eli one day and explicitly lied to Eli's face to make him feel bad.
No indication that Ocelot fostered this hatred and when they did the DNA test comparing Eli and Venom (which ofc since Venom is a double of Big Boss it wouldn't work) it was after Eli had escaped with Sahalanthropus.

Grandfather_Paradox liquid snake is the recessive one hence blue eyes blonde hair but is actually the superior of the brothers because big boss supersoldier gene resides in his recessive traits not his dominant one but nobody ever told him hence why he believes he is the flawed one until his death. solid snake has all of big boss dominant traits which why he physically look like him but has none of his supersoldier gene because they reside in the recessive genes which is why he is the true inferior one that is why at the end of mgs1 ocelot mentions on the phone to the government that 'the inferior won'
Solid suffered from it as well,as would Liquid,if he hadnt died.They had certain genomes tampered with,so they couldnt age fully.They also couldnt have children.they were walking biological weapons to the government,nothing more.Once they passed their peak age of performance,they were supposed to age really quick and die,making way for the next batch of fresh clones.
The fact that this was this crucial mission was this far into production and never completed really shows how much of a mess it was at the end between Konami and Kojima.
If only Konami just let Kojima do what he wants a little bit more

This would have been one of the best metal gear solids if it was complete.The game overall is absolutely insane, so much detail and so much to do but you still have that feeling where you have no idea what's going on on the story because it was rushed at the end by Konami.

If they ever do make a MGS VI one day, that's IF... all they have to do now is to make the story cover the Gulf War years of David (Solid) and Eli (Liquid), and how Liquid managed to put together the FOXHOUND unit that showed at Shadow Moses years later.
I thought for sure Eli was gonna die, but then I realized that the story for Shadow Moses wouldn't exist and we'd have Ocelot as the main baddie. Fuck Konami for rushing Hideo Kojima and the production team. This game would've been better they hadn't cut this mission from the game and gave Kojima-san more time.

You gotta take into account that this a completely different turn than the other MGS games which were linear but this is open open world..yeah I personally feel like Kojima kinda fucked himself by doing that, but Konami shouldn't have rushed his final game out the door, and personally, I can't wait for Death Stranding!

After killing his own soldiers due to the second outbreak on Mother Base and being traumatized by that event. Just imagine if when he had shot Eli and Eli had really died due to Venom being colorblind for a moment. Venom would have more guilt and trauma than ever for shooting a kid. Even if it's Eli.

The game IS a masterpiece without the need of this ending. MGSV is the pinnacle of stealth gaming and to say it is not a masterpiece just because it doesn't have the ending someone wanted is pretty crazy. Granted, I would have loved to play the areas depicted in this deleted ending, but Kojima event mentioned that he always meant for Venom to be the center of attention. The game is a masterpiece as it is and sure, we can all agree it would have been even better to have this, but most games cut back on a lot of content due to time, money, and internal conflicts. People act like this is exclusive to MGSV, but many games cut endings and content, even older MGS titles could have been formulated in better ways according to Kojima. There are always regrets when a game launches.

David wouldn't be stuck in a Compound at This time. And the 'Outside World' Doesn't mean that David was trapped in a single Compound. Big Boss' Lines to David was likely to refer to him, 'seeing the _world_ with his own eyes', as David had limited knowledge of the world outside his country prior to being a 'Snake'.
And this isn't the first time we got Retconned info, since Psycho Mantis never said when he met Liquid/Eli, and that he suffered burns from his Dad setting him on Fire for being a powerful Psychic.

Everyone is bitching that they cut this ending but I'm glad they did. It was incoherent in a larger scope; having Eli roam about and exiled from mother base wouldn't have fit with the larger story. He supposed to be reared by both False Boss and Ocelot, not orphaned again with no inspiration from big boss to end the Patriots.
That and the whole set up makes it seem like Mantis played a bigger role in Eli becoming the villain in MGS1 than he really should have. Also the tone was uneven; why play up the color blindness aspect and have Eli shot? It builds up pointless drama that 1. Is literally resolved seconds later and 2. We know Eli can't die because of MGS1. The contribution this gives to the overarching story is so disorganized that it would have been a detriment to not cut it.
Don't get me wrong. I wanted a far more conclusive ending, but not this.
It was 30% done, then end result was going to be Eli starting his own child army. To go to war with Cypher and The Patriots. The execution was perfect and flawless. Psychomatis would have been more like his Darth Vader to his empire. Eli had the mind and the will while Mantis had the power. It would have been completely canon to the story.

Henri_disap Sahalanthropus is wrecked, leading to it being rebuilt as metal gear. Looks like the voice parasite is removed by mantis and left to burn in the napalm. Pretty solid ending.
Except traces of it may still be on Eli's suit...

I'll be honest here, I always loved Liquid Snake as a character for some reason, but he just felt half-baked in this game. So much of the plot felt less impactful to me as well compared to the others. Yeah it gets dark and has lots of elements, but it was the first time I felt let down by a MGS story. I wonder what we would've gotten if a conflict betaeen creator and company had never happened. I felt like this was only halfway through the game, and never got why they arbitrarily made Quiet a character (I ended up liking her. Don't get me wrong) when Sniper Wolf literally had a background of being trained by who she believed to be Big Boss and was a sniper. Would've been too young for a love interest, sure, but would've fit the actual lore better. Just felt like the game's cohesion suffered through and through to me. I guess it's a testament to the work done on it that it ended up still being as good as it was.
We watch this and we can all feel the phantom pain from what was taken from us

I like the large fight and gameplay that it would have involved, but I hate the fact that Kojima would have used this mission as an excuse to make Venom Snake look evil.

It's a real shame about the inconsistent voice acting in the MGS series. Liquid's voice in MGS1 was one of the most iconic things; the young Eli uses a different voice actor and his accent is terrible, doesn't suit Liquid at all.
Same with Ocelot, why does he have a Texan accent in MGS5?
