- I finally found a LOAD of fish this spring. The key to finding these fish was simple twist on the classic underspin. The TOP SPIN was perfect around the submerged grass. The small baitfish profile was exactly what these bass wanted!

Thanks for the great instruction and encouragement. Had an old black and silver Rapala my father passed down to me that I didn't know how to fish. I normally just fish soft plastics. After watching your video yesterday, I tried it out this evening and caught 2 bass with it.

Heck yeah love seeing the Debo catching some feesh! Swim jig/Swim baits and flukes have been killing it for me with a under spin or the finesse little willow blade chatterbait thing from Zman has been a killer too

Jerkbait bites are fun. Great video …. Winter / early spring was crankbaits and drop shot…. Lately it’s been swim jigs and weightless robo worms ….. love the look of the 6th sense provokes, been let down by them and megabass. Saved up to buy 7 between to the two companies and I only have two that work. One 6th sense and one megabass. The rest sank right right to the bottom.

Love that pistol grip. I have a eagle claw Featherlite 4ft 10in light action with 6 lb mono use it with 1/8oz spinnerbaits and 1/4 oz jerkbaits, crankbaits and topwaters .
Putting spare battery in tackle bag now! Fine catches all day for you! A lot of big belly fish! Still have my ugly stick pistol grip with a quantum QD 310 on it! May upgrade graphite bushings to bearings when they wear out🤣😂😂 Still sling lures just fine!

I slammed a bunch of small mouth 2 weeks ago out of Lake Ontario. I couldn’t get them to eat anything other than a jerkbait. Bunch of 3 and 4’s, and one 5lbs smallie. Also hooked into a handful of brown trout on vision 110’s. Jerkbaits are key baits in the spring time.
Chatter bait, Underspin with swimbait trailer, Runing a squire bill but using it more like a jerk bait action its working great!
Awesome tuneage at the end makes me want to watch an old western. Audie Murphie maybe. My lure for this year has been a .5 oz pitching jig with a twin tail grub caught the biggest and most so far for me. Love the videos as always and get to feeling better.
The Provoke has become one of my favorite lures.

Ive been catching everything on a paddletail so far. Think I caught my pb today but my thumb was slipping and I didn’t wanna drop her, needed a selfie still. No time for the scale😢 she was so heavy I took a knee to unhook her just incase she wild out. ‘Twas a good morning. Always fun catching em from the bank with a massive bass boat audience😂.
Enjoyed the video Debo, the jerk bait was killing it ! I have been using the jerkbait and lipless extensively since mid January into this spring and have had huge success ! Actually have caught 2 over 5lbs in March , 1 on vision 110 @5 lbs 5oz and 1 on Rayburn red matte finish one knocker lipless @ 5lbs.6 oz ( pb that I had actually scaled) I'm from central Ohio so anything over 5 lbs is huge 🙂. Hardly ever used a jerkbait until this year and will always have one tied on now 🎣🙂

Jerkbait bite has been slow for me this spring . The good news is the topwater bite is really picking up ! First frog fish over the weekend. A sign of great things to come . Looking forward to the new videos
Nothing fancy but a zman TRD Ned rig up shallow. Bass have baitfish in the back of pockets and are feeding up and I caught about 20 or 30 fish in a single day last week.
2, CR 2032 batteries for the scale, or at least that's the ones that fit my scale. I had to change mine last week.
I am also a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick. We are not allowed to have more than one rod fishing from the riverbank. I carry a second reel with me. I have the Quantum smoke rod with micro line guides and Quantum smoke S3 baitcaster with 7.3 with Sufix siege mono 10lbs and 14lbs on my other reel
Have to try the old cheap code on the scale give the batteries a spin I can usually finish the day if I remember to actually bring the scale

Here in Southern New York by the border of Pennsylvania the jerkbait and weighted bladed 4/0 with a kvs swim-n-shad swimbait slay most of the season I caught a healthy 5lber on the bladed swimbait early mark just rolling it real slow
Spring time? Shoot its basically summer here in Texas and I'm already over it. I haven't had a day like this with the jerkbait, but the bite is unlike any other. Similar to a frog or topwater.

Its a bummer when the scale dies. That's when you have to take a pic with a friend in the background for reference. 😅 I probably should have tried a jerkbait today. The big ones were moving up but extremely stubborn. Great vid fella!

Hey Debo, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a pistol grip rod? my grandfather gave me an old pistol grip pan-fish rod that I still haven't tried, but want to put into action soon.
I have a lod school 4ft 10 in eagle claw Featherlite pistol grip with a bps pro finnesse baitcaster with 6lb test .I'm a bank fisherman and the pistol grip is good for jerkbaits due to you don't have to worry about the rod handle hitting your forearm when you twitch and it is good for roll casting under overhanging branches. Throw a bfs reel on that rod and go have some fun

Jerk bait has been killing it for me all spring. Had a 50+ fish smallmouth session last Sunday. Had a 30+ fish largemouth session a week before that. Not huge fish but numbers like I don't usually experience.
Nice video as always. I've been getting bites on the thunder cricket, and pit boss lately. Seems they are all over the place, pre spawn. I look for the little holes near the water that the craws emerge from. As soon as they look like muddy ant hills, the craws have moved into the water, and start foraging on them. Then it's pretty much Texas rigged craw baits till the spawn.
The megabass vision 110 jr. Was the deal for me last week. Elegy bone and gold black back were the main colors. Caught my first 5# bass on a green pumpkin blue flake 3.5" cover scat. Hope you feel better.
That jerk bait combo appears to be a left handed set up to me. I am left handed, and I cast with my left hand and retrieve with my right hand. Seems simple to me. I know the retrieve is right hand, but sometimes descriptions just get in the way.

Enjoyed a Smithwick Rattlin’ Rogue earlier this year at the pond. Lately a chartreuse spinnerbait with a green pumpkin strike king rage swimmer trailer has been keeping the bass coming to the bank.

Jerk baits are such an underrated lure. People think they are only good during the spring but they are great year round if there aren’t too many weeds.

Right now it's an Owner Flashy Swimmer with a 3.8 keitech in the color alewife. Caught my pb last week. Not a tank, but 4.8 pound lmb is good for me. I crossed paths with 4lbers twice in a week on the spinnerbait. The conditions was right they need to get fat for the spawn. Hope you get better soon.
I’m still trying to figure out jerkbaits. It seems that most I’ve found rise pretty quickly, even the “suspending” ones? Or is that normal for them and my lack of experience with them is obvious? Hahaha
Funny to see the eyes on that 6th sense bait are a copy of the Megabass 110. I still remember Millikens video about Googan ripping off 6th sense. Obviously 6th sense does it too. They all do. I can stand that Milliken guy though he’s why I won’t ever buy any 6th sense products.
