dunno bro, the only thing I can think is that I don't pander to children, so youtube doesn't share me around :/ Soon I'll be doing a stream on my process for modelling cars again (I have done one in the past already, but I've gotten way better) the safety slider doesn't change weights for beamng, same with the new weight optimisation sliders as for diffs? there is such little information on what the time lines were, that I just can't be sure, but they did use lockers for the longest time, and I read once in the 60s that one used an automatic locker (but in a really complicated way haha), so I really don't know :/

Such ashame you didn't do any of the V6 Turbo cars. But this car is the best car ive ever done in automation. Usually even if they end up being accurate and looking great they end up driving like shit. Ive only got my keyboard and its pretty drivable. I missed out some bits though, at the time i couldn't find any info on downforce so i assumed it was less than a ton. Still got the car to do a 1.46 on the automation test track which is decent. I hope after all the supercharger updates etc, they have a look back at aero suspension and chassis options. Pullrods would be helpful!
Just a little heads up: If you decide to make Ayrton Senna's F1 cars of the 80s (Lotus 97T, 98T, 99T,) then oof, I feel bad for you. The engine that these cars used the Renault-Gordini EF15B V6 Twin-Turbo) was almost impossible to replicate in Automation. They completely broke the turbo systems, it's a gigantic juggling act to get the power you want, and 9 times out of 10, the torque curve is horrendous. I just tried to make the engine for a fictional F1 car for my racing brand, and I had to go back and forth between wikipedia and a ton of other sites just to get info on the engine, I had to boot up Gran Turismo 6 (which has the Lotus 97T and possibly the most accurate info on the engine I could find) just to figure out the torque curve (which I failed to replicate) and the boost that the engine made ( which was somewhere in between 4.0 and 4.5 bar, which causes the turbos to overheat and blow up in Automation). You are definitely correct in saying that NA engines in automation are way over powered. I really wish that the Automation devs would make the turbos a LOT less sensitive to temps, because trying to make a lot a of power from a low displacement turbo engine would be certainly easier, I had to max out the air to fuel ratio just so that the engine didn't turn into a fireball. Maybe the engine in the 99T would be slightly easier to make (it uses a Honda engine instead of the Renault one) but good god, turbo engines are significantly harder to make since the update.
@@fillman86 Couldn't match the power of either. (I was making the varient that was in the Lotus 97T, which made about 710 HP for the race engine according to wikipedia and 999 HP for the qualifying engine according to GT6.) Highest I could go without the turbos exploding was 665 HP.
for that they'd need to delete how downforce works, and start from scratch, but they won't do that :/ in fact they need to do that anyway for every other kind of downforce too, because their downforce model sucks haha
just a little tip: it's spelled porpoising (like a porpoise, which swims by moving it's tail up and down same as dolphins, and like the cars do when they're porpoising)
You can use the cog to the far left while in the fixtures screen, to move the engine. Idk if you know that? Instead of using whatever esle it was you said. And nevermind. Just got to the point you used it
the big issue was that it was a first draft, and the rear of the side pods exited into an airdam known as the rear wheels, and engine and suspension etc, meaning the faster moving air couldn't move fast, because it has nowhere to go. With just fixing that, they got about 30% more ground effect in the next car
this was a good one - the livery was sweet and it was one of the few f1 build cars not trying to kill you!
haha finally a not homicidal f1 car :P
