    Amazing video! My Hard Drive is meant to have an entire Terabyte of space, yet it stated that only 9 GB was available TOTAL. This restored it back to its full capacity as it should be. You're a life saver

      @@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM: I have have a 4TB External Hard Drive and I would like to know Why when I create a recovery drive why dose it say like 32GB left on the drive? Don't I have so much storage that the pc would of known better. That's Not the right storage unit

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  2 роки тому

      @@DanielBrosman08211986 External Hard Drives typically have their own software especially Western Digital HD's. I'm not an expert on the partitions so not sure why you have a recovery drive that is 32GB as usually there only a few Megabyte's in size. If cleaning the drive doesn't work to remove it you could try using Mini tool Partition Wizard program.

      Even following this video, the data will still be present on the disc and recoverable

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  2 роки тому

      @@prignony True but it will be very unlikely that someone would be looking for data on a wiped drive, and would require a skill that most would likely not know to use. But it is always possible to get data if one really delves into it deep enough. The only way to truly wipe data that a forensic search couldn't find would be to physically destroy the drive after wiping it.

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  2 роки тому

      As Prignon Yves mentions a person with the right skills and know how could still retrieve data but it would be unlikely. An added measure would be to also secure erase the drive and finally physically destroy the drive, an extreme to be sure.

    Hi Dennis. I watched the whole add. I love Sherlock!!! A friend gave me her laptop, she is the admin so I can't download anything to it. Will this rectify that. She said that left it like that so that I wouldn't lose the things that she put on it, but I want to edit my videos. Hey look, I watched the whole thing ♥

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  6 років тому

      This resets it to like and empty disk, so it would rectify it, but it wipes everything, so no programs, or even Operating System. So if you want to get it to just the original Operating System you should do a factory reset, not sure I've done a video on this yet but will try to do one if I haven't. Best to create a new Account assign yourself as an Administrator, then delete her account. This will give you back full access.

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  2 роки тому

      That's good but if you check out MiniTool Partition Wizard you'll likely find there is a partition that is in need of being deleted then you could extend the size of your hard drive using this same software. Then if you run Diskpart again you should be able to get it's full size back.

      I use Disk Management for the most part but it's very limited, for other tasks I now use Mini Tool Partition Wizard, it might help you out.

      So you will need to ensure you followed the video entirely. If you did then what can happen with some WD drives in particular is they keep a small section there. I did a video on MiniTool Partition Wizard, you can use that program to look at the drive now and delete any partitions that are still there. Also ensure you go to your PC after inserting your now cleaned HD and under Disk Management select it and set it as a new volume by formatting it and you can also assign any drive path number to it you want it to be, but you will need to initialize the drive as well.
