a very clean and throughly guide thank you but i'm curious what is the difference between using diskpart and right clicking the drive and formatting it that way?
Hi Dennis. I watched the whole add. I love Sherlock!!! A friend gave me her laptop, she is the admin so I can't download anything to it. Will this rectify that. She said that left it like that so that I wouldn't lose the things that she put on it, but I want to edit my videos. Hey look, I watched the whole thing ♥
This resets it to like and empty disk, so it would rectify it, but it wipes everything, so no programs, or even Operating System. So if you want to get it to just the original Operating System you should do a factory reset, not sure I've done a video on this yet but will try to do one if I haven't. Best to create a new Account assign yourself as an Administrator, then delete her account. This will give you back full access.
This worked on my external hardrive ^_^ It only gave back 1 terabyte, but better than nothing. It's a 2 Terabyte max, but I guess that's all it could recover. I'll take it ^_^ better, than it being 30 gigs.
That's good but if you check out MiniTool Partition Wizard you'll likely find there is a partition that is in need of being deleted then you could extend the size of your hard drive using this same software. Then if you run Diskpart again you should be able to get it's full size back.
Yeah it helped a lot because I was trying to install an SSD. And it just did not want to work it just kept on giving the computer problems. And then I found your video. And now it works perfectly!
