    I have a Yildiz TS870 3 1/2 inch and it’s pretty decent. One of the hardiest guns made by brands has to be from Yildiz

    I was going to get the Yildiz Wildfowler as i wanted at 3 1/2 inch over under. 2 Issues why i did not get it was lack of a lefty model and the second was yildiz own choke pattern limits aftermarket chokes designed for steel like kicks high flyer / briley / pattern master ect. So i bought a standard lefty ATA sp game 3in chambered gun and had a gunsmith cut the chambers to 3 1/2 and sent it for reproof. My home loads 39g steel shells loaded to american specs are doing 1650fps in that gun choked with 3/4 briley extended tubes will smash big canada geese with authority out to 60 yards. The uk still has so much to learn about shooting steel and could do with ditching CIP steel velocity limits.

    I looked hard at one of these but ended up getting the limited edition B525 with 3.5" chambers. It was over twice the price but I felt it was worth it as I could use one gun for clays, game and wildfowling. It had it's first outing on geese this weekend and the Browning inflex recoil pad handled 42g BB's with no bother at all - much nicer than the Lincoln that I traded in for it.

      The 3.5 inch chamber doesn't cope well with standard 2.75 inch fibre carts in my experience. As and when I buy another gun for fowling I'd probably get a 3 inch 12 bore and save the 3.5 cartridge for the 10 bore.

    Yildiz is making some serious strides in the market. The pro is a great gun and same price as a silver pig, now this- is hard to beat for 800£. Obviously they have no shortage of nice blanks as they supply many other makers

    Jonny - how would you feel about a Yildiz MX Trap or MX Clays (based on the SPZ, not the Pro) vs an ATA SP Sporting? Over here, we can get the Yildiz MX in the form of the HPS Sporting from Academy, and Weatherby sells the ATA as their Orion Sporting.
    I'm wondering how the two actions will stand up to the higher round counts from target shooting.

    • @Tuton25
      @Tuton25 4 роки тому +2

      There's no real ballistic advantage to the 10 bore over the 12 bore, the advantage of the 10 bore is you get a properly scaled action for the heavier cartridges. Shooting 1-3/8 oz. of shot in a 7 pound 3-1/2" 12 bore is a rather unpleasant experience, but that same 1-3/8 oz. charge in a 9.75 pound 10 bore is much more manageable. That's why I shoot a Browning Gold-10, I am simply faster with it shooting those heavy cartridges than I am with the lighter 12 bores.
