in the 60s to the early seventies, we didn't realise what we had when it came to music, we just took if for granted, fools we were to think it would always be this way, well we were wrong
I saw Strawbs in Detroit, USA when they toured for the Bursting At The Seams album. On "Lay Down", Dave Lambert took an extended guitar solo that was one of the best solos I ever heard from a Rock guitarist!🍓🇬🇧🎸⚡️⚡️⚡️
Loved it - Dave worked with me at the commercial station Radio Tees in late seventies ….he ran the programming side and I ran the sales side . Great guy , special memories of being in Spain with him and our families when a Strawbs song came on in a remote local bar . Of course I told the barman that the lead singer was with me ….free drinks all afternoon after Dave sang a couple of bars to prove he was indeed ‘the man ‘ ! A very unique style of singing , he and band did themselves proud with their brand of folk rock .
The 70s were amazing. Burning bras and draft cards. They knew how to protest back in the day WITHOUT burning down peoples property. Polyester was a downside but it was a great time.
Seen these guys alot over the years in various line ups, never disappointed, but check out the girl at the end ,back of stage long blonde hair giving it loads, what a goddess, wonder where she is now ,hope life has been good to you
Did the ussr let you listen to it? We were bad capitalists surely? 😂 I have a friend in Odessa 🇺🇦 He was a young communist responsible for stopping western music. What a horrible regime! Best wishes 🇬🇧 👍 ☺

My favourite band EVER. Those days are gone and are never comin' back - but at least we've got the footage.

Great song, folk rock at its best✌🏻
I love the folkie medieval vibe to this song.
Sounds like a Scottish folk tune.
Based on the 23rd psalm
