I heard the acoustic trio last year on the Moody Blues Cruise. I had never heard of them (?!) and was walking by their stage to go see another band. I just had to stop and listen for a minute. That minute went on and on to the end of their set. I was blown away by their sound. Totally "up to scratch", vocals, guitars, everything.. They had a new fan.
Thanks to UA-cam i hear this song again.I remember it well in 1973 in the charts and i loved it then. This live version and 40 years later is just like the original. With due credit to all i must say that the lead Guitaring took me away in 1973 and as i said it now does so again.I listen to this 10 times a day again...
So good to hear David Cousins and the band. Thanks for keeping the flame going David. The Strawbs had such a great sound. Davids songs along with Mr. Hudson add to that Davids unique vocals and I am in rock n roll heaven
I had this album in the early 70s.. totally forgot about it until Wakeman mentioned it in his grumpy old rockstar book. Someone must have stolen the lp from me.
I didnt know that it was Strawbs too.I'll just say that one word from now.I cant believe that i forgot about them after all those years..What a brilliant original band....
Seen both Electronic and Acoustic versions of the band in recent years, at the Cheese and Grain at Frome, and the Rondo in Bath, great evenings both. This is a cr#p recording, they sound much better than this in real life.
Were an ok band saw them on free tickets as hadn't sold well so promoter papered the audience. Unfortunately band released awful smug patronising part of the union, no way back enjoy, Cousins made his point, totally rejected welcome to obscurity
The STRAWBS are part of my youth!!!!! Love them very much......!!!!! Will never forget and their great songs!!!!!! For me, amazing forever!!!!
I can't express enough how uplifting it is to hear this song again. Live too! Put me in happy land.

Rick Wakeman was a member for a time before he joined Yes. He has fond memories of The Strawbs.

Brian, Hi, l believe that we are related. My Mum , Olive, and my Dad Frank Brice. Would be great to be able to see you in action sometime, Pete.
Apparently it's just Strawbs and not "the Strawbs." Not that I personally care but someone gave me crap for calling them "the strawbs" recently.
I didnt know that it was Strawbs too.I'll just say that one word from now.I cant believe that i forgot about them after all those years..What a brilliant original band....

A great band!

The years have taken their toll. They seem off tune at the beginning.
Were an ok band saw them on free tickets as hadn't sold well so promoter papered the audience. Unfortunately band released awful smug patronising part of the union, no way back enjoy, Cousins made his point, totally rejected welcome to obscurity
Nonsense they always had a big fan base
horror disguised as music
