This video is so good I cannot wait to customize my own GameCube controller and if I mess up I will keep working on it until I get it right and Thank you for the tutorial :)
Thanks! Customizing ur GameCube controller is a lot easier than it seems so have fun with it!
I don't even have a gamecube controller but i watched this whole video lol
It was good
Thanks!
Me too bro
i wish i knew etsy existed long ago
What is etsy
@@Zemmuwebsite, where people sell some really nice custom controller parts
@@Zemmu like ebay or amazon but arts and crafts centered
It sounds so light and hollow, even the A and B buttons sound like they have good snap-back and the buttons don't get stuck. Even the analog sticks look pretty good, and they don't look like they will drift anytime soon.
Damn.. bro you only have 60 subscribers. Honestly when i was watching ur video i thought you are like more popular youtuber cuz of the editing and this. But i was surprised when i watched the whole video that you have small amount of subsribers. You deserve my sub. Great job and keep it up
Thanks so much!
@@shugokimon Hundred subs!!! Congrats!
Glad you finally got the pieces! Great to see it come together!
that GameCube controller looks awesome !
Good work. I wish you can find a way to remove that gamecube port and add a USB C port so that we can enjoy a zero latency gameplay.
I mostly just wanna do art if I plan on customizing my gamecube controller but this will also be helpful 👍🏽
Im planning on customizing my gcc and this tutorial helps! thanks
The best controller ever made
140th sub! you deserve way more
Thank you!
THAT'S why I can't get the custom Z-buttons to stay in place! I didn't realize you needed that little metal piece! Here I was just thinking that all custom Z buttons are hot garbage.
Just got a new controller, want to get some custom buttons, do you know a good quality but affordable place to get some from?
The ones I got are from SENORRETRO on Etsy and they went for $35 (face buttons abxy, z, dpad and start) www.etsy.com/shop/SENORRETRO
Selstor, where I got my sticks from also sells buttons but I believe their face buttons were more expensive www.etsy.com/listing/1042488457/
There are also a ton of other people selling buttons on Etsy, just make sure you check the reviews first especially with cheaper ones
Cool vid ❤👍
Help! I need a good color highlight that goes well with an Indigo GCN controller! I got one and I’d like a button color that goes well with Indigo!
More controller modding pls
Once I figure out what controller modding project I want to do next I will definitely post a vid showing it off!
Are the thumbsticks grippy like the original thumbsticks?
Where did u mod your controller to get a new wire?
@wavtype on Twitter did that for me (sorry for the 7 month late reply lol)
great video! but where did you get your tri-wing screw driver I have looked on amazon and all of the reviews have been very bad

I keep trying to get my hands on a GameCube controller but I never have the cash on hand when in cex :(
This is the most reliable way to get them

Where did you get those black buttons?
Do you know where you can get torx screws that fit the threads of the controller? If I bother to take one apart, I think I'd wanna ditch all the triwing and philips screws while I'm at it to make future disassembly easier.
I’ve seen em on Etsy on fires’ shop before, tho I’ve never tried them myself. I’ve heard good things about them tho

Hello what’s the different in the versions of the board ? Witch should I get for smash bros ultimate on switch ?
He is using a PHOB which is basically a custom motherboard built from scratch. The original gamecube controllers had 3 major revisions of their motherboard with the major difference being the stickboxes used for the analog sticks. The first revision used t1 stickboxes, the second revisions used t2 and the third revision used t3 stickboxes.
The best OEM board are the ones with T3 stickboxes as they tend to last longer, be more consistent and accurate over time. Regular stickboxes use sliding potentiometers to determine the analog sticks position, and over time the moving parts wear down which lead to them behaving differently (Reffered to as PODE). The earlier stickboxes used varying amounts of metal moving parts which wore down faster, whereas T3 boxes were all plastic. The PHOB board he used in the video uses a mixture of T3 stickboxes and magnetic hall effect sensors instead of potentiometers so to remove the inevitable wear and tear and inconsistency of moving parts.
PHOBs are super expensive ($100-$200 just for a board), the negative impacts of PODE matter more for Melee then Ultimate as Ultimate just isn't as high in APM and precise as melee, so honestly a good T3 OEM controller is perfect for Ultimate and anything beyond that is personal preference. The best way to get a T3 gamecube controller is to buy one of the smash ultimate branded controllers, which can be found new in box on amazon for about 50 dollars.

As a new competitive smash player is it worth getting a phob controller. When I look at getting a notched controller with SnapBack correction it’s about $140
For me it was worth it as I was going through new controllers pretty fast (the stick box potentiometers kept wearing out every few months). I’ve had my phob since September and it feels just as good as when I first got it! The up front cost of a phob is a lot but it may be worth it in the long run if you play a lot. Just make sure you get ur phob from a phob approved modder so you know your getting a good product and not a poorly made one. I got mine from @wavtype on Twitter and they did a great job! (Also the phob 2 is dropping or has already dropped so you may want to go for that over phob 1)

Where to get gcc cord?
Heyyo, are your custom sticks rubber capped? or straight resin?
Straight resin, they feel weird at first but after the first day or two I really like them now.
Hi. Where did you get new GC controllers? Thanks!
hell yeah
😳
What is your opinion on replacement analogsticks that are „best/good/closest to oem“ ? I’m in need of a new one cause my rubber peels off :(
I would love an answer to this question as well. A lot of the aftermarket ones are kind of "gummy" or "rubbery" feeling and don't feel quite right.
link those black sticks and face buttons plz

Hey! Where did you buy that buttons??

The sticks and triggers were from selst0r who you can find on Twitter and Etsy
What a downgrade.
I'm not a fan of the front and back covers being different colors. But everything else is cool
