This is my Parfums De Marly Percival Fragrance review. A fragrance I've been anticipating for quite some time and finally, it's here. I am happy with this release but to me it's not breaking any new ground but I have enjoyed wearing it. It's one of those fragrances in the same ballpark as Chanel's Bleu De Chanel, Creed's Aventus, Roja Parfums Elysium and more. If you are into crowd-pleaser fragrances then this is a must-try. Possibly the most underrated PDM. I'd pick this over Layton or Carlisle any day. Fresh, gets compliments and versatile enough for any occasion.

Percival opening is great but the dry down is even better. It's heavenly. Easily my favorite in the house of PDM.
Dear Sébastien, I watched a lot of reviews about Percival;however, yours by far is the best.Especially when you mentioned the way it dries down, and that's what makes it so unique.
Great to get your take on Percival. I was worried that if it departed from the thick and luxurious PDM DNA I might not enjoy it as much. Somehow it manages to be lighter and fresher without losing that delightful PDM character. Percival is a big WIN for me!

Great condensation. Really nailed it. I’ve been wearing it everyday for a week and you’re correct; the drydown is gorgeous. Also, when this mixes with my body heat it projects a terrific, intoxicating scent cloud. It seems that a lot of fragrance snobs are really sleeping on this one. Never thought I could have a signature scent but this checks all the boxes.
I tried it and loved it. I want this to use as my go to office scent

Great review Sebastian. I think you do a very good job overall verbally describing how fragrances smell. I am just getting into Parfums De Marly, I have samples of Layton and Herod on the way. It would be great to try Percival also. Thanks again for the great reviews and guidance to this newbie.
Thank you for the review. The dry down sounds intriguing. Herod was a love at first spray for me. I have not had the opportunity as of yet to try any others.
I am very curious to try this scent! Sounds very interesting. I absolutely love that cobalt bottle with the silver top. Just a beautiful bottle.
I didn’t enjoy it at first, but after sampling it for the third day It really grew on me. I’m going to purchase the bottle when it arrives at a discount site. My favorite PDM has to be Layton. Massive compliments and projects like a beast.

I just got both PDM Layton & Sedley. For my birthday. Was debating between Percival & Sedley. Choose Sedley. Especially since Spring- Summer is coming. Will eventually get more PDM colognes as I can afford them. However with the cost of things constantly going up. It will be awhile before I get more PDM etc

Super solid release, pleasantly surprised by this one but the other scents have a stronger DNA which I never really enjoyed. This one strays away from that which is nice. Will grab once it hits other markets.
I just bought it and I'm loving it, the best fragrance I've owned so far-and I've owned more than a few! ;)
I agree with you about it being the freshest from PDM , which was a worry for me because of how well they do deeper&denser fragrances so well. 👍

I have yet to smell Percival but love the fact it sounds so versatile. Layton is my favorite from the house, but I enjoy Carlisle a lot as well

Not a lot of people talk about Galloway but, I really liked that one. Found it to be quite unique.

I smelled it the other day at Nordstroms when I was looking for Habdan. (which they didn't have) I really liked how fresh this one is, but your right, the dry down is worth the wait. Love your videos and always love when you have Ashley on. Please throw my name in the hat.

I just tried this one at Osswald today, and I liked it. I didn’t try it on skin yet though. Also, I just received a Parfums de Marly discovery set and am excited to try more from this house. As of now, I’ve only tried Herod & Percival.

I have a bottle that i got last week. I have layton too bt Percival is better imo. Yet to get herod.

I have sampled Percival and feel it's good but not revolutionary and also a nice change of tone for PDM. Likewise the performance is good but not beast mode like some have said.
my favorites from PDM are Layton, Carlisle, Herod, and Layton exclusif. I'm looking to pick up Galloway and percival. I like pegasus but have armaf craze and it's pretty spot on with phenomenal longevity.

Sebastian! You inspired and re-ignited my passion for Niche Fragrances and did a blind buy of Nishane Istanbul's Hacivat based on your review and did not regret it. Earlier last month also picked up TF Tobacco Vanille based on your recommendation. Also based on your praise dropped by at the Nordstorm (only chain in Canada to carry PDM) in Toronto and sampled Parfums De Marly's Herod, Layton and Goldophine. They just received the Percival and did not have a tester. Would love to own bottle of this based on your review. After few winter/spicier fragrances, I am in need of a good quality freshie. How would you rate the performance on this? You said the dry down is amazing....how long does it last on skin...re-application needed?

I got a 10 mil decant of this and although I own several pdm fragrances not sure when or if I pull the trigger on this one although I do like it it's 1 of those fragrances I become anosmic to when I try to smell it close to my skin almost immediately kind of overloads my nose and then later on as it dries down I catch wafts of it if I was rich I'd run right out and buy it otherwise will see
This smells very similar to the Axe Body sprays, only with a better longevity. Not that it's a bad thing, just saying it's nothing special.

Not at all. I would say any of the very popular Blue fragrances like Chanel, Dior even Roja and even Aventus but nothing like Herod or Layton! :)
