Hey Dion! The "marks" on the case are not complaints! As you continue to use the case, it will get more marks and imperfections. This is known as patina and is actually desired for most people. It adds character to your case.
More like it looks cheap and damaged. Mine is only a year and a few months now and is peeling on the bottom like a chunk of the leather is coming off from a fall. Has some scratches around. Gonna get a cheap case which is better.
@@LexusJDM350 Maybe you should take better care of the things you own, mine is 5 years old and still looks great. If you don't take care of your house it will look dilapidated, why is it so hard to understand that you need to take care of your leather case then.
@@maddestruction1 what are you even talking about. Accidents happen and phones fall. That's what the case is there for. But the leather gets scratched and dented too easily when dropped. So it doesn't really have to do with taking better care, it's just not a durable case. Comparing a house to a phone is stupid.
Dion, your wallet is an LV pocket Holder, only the plain black part is leather, the greyish black LV monogrammed part is made of PVC coated canvas, that’s why it hold up really well
I can confirm the silicone case by Apple starts to wear off within 12 months. They suck up oil or water from the skin until it' starts to get brittle. Raw silicone didn't feel good in the beginning either and smelled weird. Quite unfortunate that just when it feels better over time, it doesn't leave the feeling forever. Adds to more of Apple's carbon footprint and our own in turn. Silicone cases by Apple don't justify the cost.
Hi Dion, nice you have another review. This one is interesting because I am considering buying a nice case for my iPhone, and it is good to hear and see that it lasts. Thank you!!!
Hi, good question! I would advise to be careful using alcohol spray or wipes on the case as this will damage the leather if done too often. Personally I do it every once in a while but make sure to dry the case quickly with a microfibre cloth to limit wear. Hope that helps!
Hi Fabio, thanks for your comment. Both the leather and silicone apple cases have a microfibre layer on the inside. This helps protect the phone from scratches when applying and removing the case. In my experience so far I have not had any scratches that came from the case.
I'm more interested in how your PHONE ITSELF holds up over time inside of the case. I'm much more concerned with how the Thousand Dollar item it's protecting, not the cheap sixty dollar case, is holding up. I haven't seen a single review showing this, as it's all either just the case after a year, or how the phone holds up without a case after 1 year. I wanna see how the phone itself holds up after 1 year while using an Apple Case, please make this video. Please.
I have the same silicone case I bought when I bought my iPhone 12 mini in 2020 and although the case is starting to chip here and there, my phone is in perfect condition. Not even a scratch on my screen protector. I’d say the phone holds up exceptionally, but I am also very careful with my phone.

Oily hands, rough handling and getting it wet are the most likely culprits. Leather being a premium/natural material and it requires a bit more care then A synthetic material. Getting it wet frequently will definitely wear it down fast. Also oils that may be on your hands can contribute to early ware; things like eating chips or other foods then not washing your hands before handling your phone. The oils will soften the leather overtime making it more susceptible to friction damage. Natural skin and food oils are very different from the type of oils used for treating leather. leather care oils have a much higher fat content and are typically made from animal fats.
I had the Apple black leather case on my iPhone 6 plus for six years and it never turned grey. Which case did you have that turned grey? Was it from Apple?

Wow that’s from one year? Your leather case aged really well compared to others.
I’m just using the black one. Do I need to take care of it like polish it or just using it normally?
Use it normally. That’s what is for.
Be sure to store your case in it’s original box and keep it in a dark room. Also do not place your case on an iPhone to ensure it does not wear out.

Had one 6 months and it looks wrecked already.

The black leather turns grey over time.
Interesting to hear, haven't had that happen so far but will keep a look out!
