    Looking at where Apple has landed in terms of diminishing returns on their new releases, it's very hard to justify going any further than an iPhone 12 if you just want a good phone.
    The gap between this build and the 14 is just so minor.

    Coincidentally, I recently upgraded from the iPhone 11 to iPhone 12 and the jump in performance was very noticeable!! 😅 I don’t know why people were complaining about frame drops in the user interface of the iPhone 12. I was quite confused about it, I was using the iPhone 11 at the time so I was scared to get the iPhone 12 till my iPhone 11 started to ghost touch!. A situation where the phone will randomly start opening apps and just glitching out! 😂I immediately ran to my local phone store and swapped it out for the iPhone 12. Ever since then I’ve been so much happier and confident with both the performance and battery life 😅

    I believe that title should go to the iPhone 12 Pro Max these days. It's depreciated enough in cost so that you can get the benefits of a Pro Max phone without spending over $1000 like the newer 13 and 14 lineups. Outstanding battery life, screen size, and all the stellar benefits of the regular 12 lineup as described in the video. If you budget it right, you can still do a 13 Pro or a 14 Pro like I did, but the best of the best for under $1k should really go to the 12 Pro Max. It can still do the fastest 5G bands and everything else the 13 and 14 phones do, but without the added cost.

      @@707josh Not necessarily; a friend of mine bought a 'like new' iPhone 12 for less than half the price of a new one and found the battery health was still 100% with only 7 battery cycles (the battery usually needs replacing at 500 cycles). The phone was indeed brand new in terms of how it looked. All you need to make sure of is to buy from a place with a good return policy so that you can return the phone if you end up with one that has 80% battery health (which does happen) or is otherwise not to your liking.

      Why to replace your phone every two years (or maybe three);
      Seven years is a crazy long time to not replace a phone, the differences in software are definitely noticeable at that point, and the camera upgrades and other fun changes are enough to make the upgrade worthwhile to me. There’s also a sweet spot on reselling your phone, hold on to it forever and it’s not worth much, one to two years before the battery deeply degraded and you’re getting a great return. I have opened and worked on almost every phone and computer I’ve ever owned and replacing the battery or screen yourself to get some extra life out of the thing is not usually buying you too much time or saving you much money considering you’re investing in something that has essentially depreciated to zero at that point.
      And obvious last point- because my metrics are obviously different than yours. I don’t spend money on much else in this world, but the tech around me brings me great joy and satisfaction and takes up most of my waning attention. I likes what I likes!

Only reason I'm buying the 14 next week is because my battery health is below 80 and the broken face ID means its not worth replacing the batt.

    I recently bought a iPhone 12 Pro Max. I did buy it from Apple rather than from sources such as eBay, but I got it from Apple's refurb store. It was $200 more, but the eBay sellers only promised 80% battery and a 30 to 90 day guarantee. Apple refurb meant a new 100% battery and a full one-year Apple warranty. Given how long I keep iPhones, battery life is crucial. An 80% battery in a used one almost guarantees I'll face the hassle and expense of replacing it.

    this is the phone I am getting as an early christmas present, except I got the pro max. I came from android for 3 years since 2020 and ever since being on android I had apps randomly download without my consent, battery drop down to 40% at night even tho it was fully charged before bed and wasn't in use. Camera doesn't want to focus, honestly a mistake I ever went with android. Before android I had the iPhone 6 plus in 2015 and boy did I miss iPhone lol. Never again will I switch back to android. I am excited to use animoji and memoji. After watching this video, I am glad I went with the 12 pro max cause the newer ones 1 are crazy expensive, 2 basically the same as the other ones in my own opinion and 3 I came to realize I don't need the fancy bells and whistles of the latest iPhone to be "up to date" when the ones from previous years can do the same thing with the same quality.

    I went from the iPhone 8 Plus to the iPhone 12, and I really love the 12 and its features along with the 4K screen resolution. Had to switch up because I snapped while my 8+ was literally putting in typos in each and every single thing that I text, post, comment, respond, etc., so I threw it on the ground as hard as I could, and watched it be completely destroyed and I was very happy and felt much better. I don’t understand how when you even take off the features to not be auto correct in you and fill in the typos of its own, trying to teach you to speak in a very iPhone way or a liberal way. iPhones are notorious for typos, no matter how much you try to prevent it.

      - Using a lower display brightness
      - Keeping around 5-6 apps open at a time
      - Using Low Battery Mode
      - Turning on Airplane Mode when not using cell or WiFi
      Other than those "tips", 4 hours should be fine for anything, especially if you're not using it constantly, which is what you're probably doing (from inference).

    And what do you mean the previous two non-pro iPhones had crummy displays? Personally, if I need to take off my glasses, close one eye, squint, and put my phone an inch from my face to see individual pixels - well, that’s not how I tend to use my phone normally. Complaining about that would be like complaining that your oven makes a terrible sauna and is way too hot on its lowest setting.

    How's the battery now? I only do netflix, youtube, web browsing, and social media. Can this last all day with Mobile data?
