    Great job! I love the fact that you were willing to declutter items even though they were expensive - I get a little hung up on this sometimes! Such an important lesson! The fact that you were away many months without needing those items is such a cool method too - we should all be more conscience of the same even though we have those items every day. I just started doing some more decluttering yesterday and added items to my "quarantine bin" to make sure I don't use them before I let them go - sometimes I get a little caught up with decluttering and want to be more mindful of it.

      I'm so glad some of those things resonated with you. I tried to just talk through everything going on in my head to help others see what it's really like to declutter. Thanks for sharing!
      Oh yes, I had to learn that lesson as well! It's super helpful. Love it!

    Fantastic video. So important for people to break away from the cycle of buy/get rid of/buy/get rid of stuff. Consumerism casues clutter, and takes us away from the important things. People used to have few posessions, but those posessions were reasure and cherished. Thank you!

    Perfect timing! Just about a week ago I felt a lot more grace from God to have another round of decluttering in preparation for the holidays! I feel like He’s doing a lot in my heart and helping me release not just external things, but internal things that were weighing me down. Thanks for posting!😌🥰

    I finally started buying the same glasses each time I buy some so they all match all the time. I also started buying my plates/bowls/etc. in white from Cost Plus World Market. You can buy them in sets but you can also replace broken ones one at a time so they all match all the time. Love that. Ikea is great for this as well. They don't change their styles of basic dinnerware and drink wear ever.

A tip about your drinking glasses - I am a master at breaking glasses so I bought a set of Tervis Tumblers that are unbreakable and have different types of birds or whatever you pick so people don't keep forgetting which glass was theirs and keep getting out more glasses during the day... It really saves me time on cleaning glasses

    Look up at how Marie kondo folds clothes. It's the only method advice I took from her show. I absolutely love having clothes folded up on the side so I can see every clothing item the kids have so I can find things very easily. The pjs shirts go in the pants. This also allows us not to cram to many items into the drawers. Hope this helps you as well 💕 we did this with everyone's clothes over a year ago and it has stuck. My husband absolutely loves it too.

    This is a genuine question and I mean no harm but I keep wondering. If this isn't your first declutter (no idea) where is all this stuff from? Please forgive me but I am just a direct question kinda person and mean no harm. After I did my major declutter I became a 'gate keeper' to reduce the incoming. First time viewer :)

      @margaretmatheny  3 роки тому +6

      You're so kind in the way you ask. I took no offense. It's a question I asked myself too. We genuinely accumulate so much by moving 3x a year to 3 different climates. Also because we move three times a year, we store items at family members homes and actually this season almost all of our family members are moving so we got all that stuff back. But regardless of that extra stuff coming in, we're in a very very small space but have to be prepared for 3 different climates and moving belongings all year so it's just all in here! haha. So yes, I blame my hubby :) Grateful that he has a job but it does a number on us every year.

    The one thing I really think is going too far is having about five pants and tops for little ones. I mean that isn't even one outfit a week!Small children need quite a lot more clothing than that. Even if you were superhuman enough to keep washing this tiny amount of clothing for everyday use , it's just a step too far . People need to be realistic especially when it comes to small children. Sometimes you need to change their clothes several times a day. This is minimalism gone mad.
