It’s long overdue, my closet was overflowing and the mess in my closet was effecting me on an emotional level. It’s true, clutter messes with your head. So I fixed it. I got rid of 50% of my clothing. My wardrobe is now minimal, perfectly curated for me and getting dressed is a very easy decision to make in the morning.

So many cute pieces and you did a great job whittling down your wardrobe! For oily stains, I have found that Puracy spray removes them COMPLETELY. It’s magic! I’ll even buy an oil stained shirt at yard sales or thrifting if I love it because I know it’ll get the stain out!
I have SO many shirts I don't even like anymore. Eventually I want my closet to be curated like this. I'm so excited to get to that point!♥

You are awesome! Love this! FYI - Dawn dish soap removes oil stains from clothes - pizza grease too! Even if it already went through the dryer. Just put some on the stain(s) rub it in good, toss in the washer and wash as usual. It’s magic!

Talc also removes oil/grease even if the item has been washed. Dab it on. Leave it dry out for a few hours then brush off.

Nice, relaxing declutter. My wardrobe is pretty minimal already as well but inspired me to think also about what I actually look good in - not just feel good in. I turned 30 and am wanting to look a little more put together these days. 😊
I recommend putting everything on hangers, it looks like you have the space. You could get pant/skirt clip-type hangers for your jeans and shorts. I just find it much easier to see what I have if it’s all hanging. Then, just put your two nice hats on the shelf.

you motivated me! Although I did not do as well as you, I went from 143 to 114 including shoes and pjs!!! hopefully will be able to keep decreasing as I transition into minimalism.

Declutter is great! Its empowering and lets you breathe. I think an important key to a successful declutter is to determine whether or not you are going to allow yourself to replace any items you got rid of. I have cleared out my closet only to refill it again a couple months later, so it takes intentionally understanding yourself. Like Margaret, life stages are a perfect time to declutter.

Always enjoy your videos! I'm so inspired by these decluttering/minimal wardrobes and continue to work on mine - I got caught up with what I was "supposed" to have in my closet (all those must have items that every minimalist needs haha) but after evaluating what I love and what is good for my life, I have found my own personal style. I love the freedom in having less, yet having items that are a bit more polished and effortless for my lifestyle (and maybe just a tad bit dressier than my normal leggings and t-shirts). Love the try on as well and that J Crew blazer is amazing!

When you said "Im saving too many things" , I laughed. I went through 2 baskets of clothes and only took out 2 shirts 😂 Im so bad at decluttering my clothes cause I love them all.

I can get that in the works. Honestly there isn't any thing unique or organized about it. I just name the piece I'm looking for then find it wherever I can!

I’m new to your channel and really loved this. I just want to suggest that you could always take that beautiful brown Everlane blouse and layer it under one of your sweaters. The colour would be close to your face and the annoying “dot” on the sleeve would be hidden! Just a suggestion…it’s one way to elongate the life of our clothes. 😉

To get rid of static and it works is to pin a safety pin on the back bra strap - between you and the strap. It will “ground” against 95% of static in your clothes.

I hoarded clothes for years, I don't know why. Last year, I literally threw out almost 80% of my closet and started thrifting for pieces, I really need and like. And hole shit.... It takes me under 1 minute to pick my outfit for the day and my laundry game is way better with less stuff 😂

I love to wear logo t shirts. And the “deeper” the cut to a movie or tv show I love, the better. For instance, I have a t with the logo for the radio station that plays throughout Reservoir Dogs. Many though are from a few years ago when I weighed 2 sizes smaller. So they are going aside for a while, and if they never fit, they will go into a T shirt quit.

I’ve been keeping a pair of jeans for about 10 years that used to fit me. I like to think maybe one day..(But they are really small). They taunt me from behind the door, they were my favorites. I don’t know why out of everything these are always saved from the donations pile.

I’m inspired. I want to be more intentional with my clothes. I love that nude 2 piece, do you recall where it’s from? It’s funny because I’m sooo intentional with my toddler sons wardrobe - pretty much because it’s all neutral and there isn’t a million cute things I find for boys but for myself and my girls it’s sooo hard!
It looks like the white Madewell shirt actually has a stain on it too if you wanted an easy start for your next sweep haha 😉

Do you know about using baby powder on oil stains on your clothes? Let sit a few hours and brush off with dry wash cloth. Then spray with whatever stain remover and wash.

I tend to keep and wear things that are ok but not perfect because they go with other items or I need them for specific activities, occasions or weather and getting rid would mean buying something to replace them.
