    Liminality or liminal time is considered the point in social experience when the subject is outside time, hanging in slow motion outside the social rules. It's funny that the first time I heard about the term was while reading "Rant" by Chuck Palahniuk, where people went into liminality by crashing cars into each other. Or driving it towards a river with a flaming Christmas tree on top of the car. My favorite poet and my favorite author, writing about the same thing.

      What I got from it is just dying in a car crash with his loved one? Unless there's a less literal meaning I didn't pick up on

    • @redredsweater1026
      @redredsweater1026 8 років тому +1

      I can't really find any deeper meaning other than appearance vs reality.
      The appearance of what people assume heaven will be vs what it actually is to each individual and how unique it is.

    • @ledieubrebis9819
      @ledieubrebis9819 8 років тому +2

      I like to see it as this :
      heaven isn't something you reach when you die, something with a "golden escalator" to get to, something beautiful next to God, but it is here, on earth, next to the one you love, the one who will "remember your iris and why you can only speak in short sentence", heaven is sharing those last breaths of your existence with that cherished one. I hope my vision of the poem helps you :)

    • @Kindabizzare
      @Kindabizzare 7 років тому

      After researching the meaning of Liminal and liminality, I perceive it to be about the time between life and death and the memories we create while we are on earth. The greatest memory for some may be falling in love. Which I think is represented by the "car crash" . It's such a beautiful poem that can be interpreted in so many ways.
