Five years after this was published here, and undoubtedly many more years after it was written, it is a testament to greatness that folks are still commenting positively as little as 2 weeks before me [in August, 2017 (the 29th, to be precise)]. Thank you, Mark Lowry, for writing/singing this song. As a woman who has borne children, it speaks volumes to me. As a Christ-follower, it humbles me. As a God-worshipper, it awes me. As a Spirit-listener, it gives me what I call "Holy Spirit goose-bumps"!!! As a singer and musician, it inspires me. It doesn't have to be near Christmas time to imagine the utter amazing-ness - the reality that seemed to be beyond reality - that was the virgin birth to Mary and those around her. Thank you for making it real to us, as well.
How touched I am...to tears everytime I hear Mark perform this beautifully inspiring song he wrote. So anointed!! Snd, having Guy Penrod and David Phelps accompant him is just a perfect addition. Love it!!
I heard your song, "Mary, did you know"" for the first time this weekend by a new group (to me), the Pentatonics and was deeply affected by it, so I had to find out who wrote this moving and sensitive piece that moves whoever listens to it to tears, Christians and atheists alike. Did you know how responsive people were to this song, calling it beautiful, like an angelic choir, etc. You must have been inspired and blessed to write it, as were the many who heard this moving song.
I have heard this song preformed many times by many people but this one is the best. Thanks Mark for putting your heart into it. It's obvious you love God & and He's working through you.

@PlasmaStorm73 [KY4IF] My Grandmother and mother were her doppelgangers. They looked like a set of triplets, though only my mom ever met her. It started in the 60's, when Vestal came to our town. She and mom had a little meet up and chat when they were finished meetin' and greetin' after the concert. I miss Grandma, Vestal, and Mom.❤
The line ... when you kiss your baby boy, you kiss the face of God... I lose it everytime right there. Fabulous song... message... Mark Lowry is my favorite... love David and Guy...
I love this song and how it makes you realise Jesus didn’t just appear but he was a small baby who needed to be cared for and depended on adults just like all of us.
This has to be one of the all time best Christmas songs ever--written from the heart--pure, simple and oh, so true. I love it so much. The whole gospel in this one song, from a his mother's perspective. Wonderful.
No one can sing this beloved song with more compassion and heart then Mark Lowery!! I know he wrote the song, but it is evident that his heart in soul was in every word written. I never tire of listening to him sing this song no matter what time of year it may be!
I'm not gonna talk about how blessed they voices are, how beautiful that song is, how much passion Mark puts at singing the song. Everything and something else said about the performance and arts may be truth... But when in the song is said that Jesus had a baby face once, and then I see my little one-year-old son smiling at me, I wonder why Jesus loves us that much... I need to surrender to Him every single second.

I feel so humbled that a man that I've never met, who already knew me, gave his life so that I may live. I feel His arms around me throughout this song, and with His help, guidance, love and grace, one day I will physically feel his arms around me. Until that time, I will rejoice in his Word, and feel his presence in my soul. Amen, and Amen!
I sang this with the choir at my church as a solo and in both I sang this song for the kids Christmas play at church.
Tears streaming down my face. Just magnificent! All glory be to God!!
I feel the presence of God every time I listen to or play this song. It is a song sent from Heaven. Thank God for Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene writing and composing this Beautiful song. I Thank God The Father MOST FOR His Son...JESUS CHRIST!
One on my favorite Christmas song, I just learned that Mark wrote this song, and he sang it with every fiber of his being .Quite moving.
Mark was not only singing from his heart but with his soul. Clearly, he is offering this song solemnly and sincerely to Him! One of his best, if not his best, performance for the Master! #audienceof1
Hello 👋 There
How are you doing today?
BEST rendition from the songwriter himself! So heartfelt. Glory to God!
Hello Jessica
How are you doing?
2:56 love David's expression when Mark starts belting

My favourite version too..he being songwriter pours out his heart while singing...
Yup, nobody has the pipes for this like Mark
If you can watch this without a tear in your eye, you'd better check your pulse.....WOW WOW WOW.... I've come back and watched it over and over.
@Hello Bob how are you doing
Mark Lowry, Guy Penrod, David Phelps and an amazingly skilled piano player, not pictured, nameless here, forevermore.
I have heard this song preformed many times by many people but this one is the best. Thanks Mark for putting your heart into it. It's obvious you love God & and He's working through you.
Mark was one of the writers of Mary did you know.
This song is so real. I can’t wait to see and hug my savior. Come to us sweet Jesus we need you so much . I love you Jesus.
This song is so powerful. The greatest song ever written. God bless you Mark

Mark Lowry my most favorite singer of Christian music...and Mary Did you know my most favorite Christian song.
This is the greatest song ever written and it gives me a glimpse into heaven and seeing Jesus stand up when you sing this song.
This song is what Christmas means to me. Thank you Mark, Buddy, David, Guy and Gordon! Thank you to Bill and Gloria for all that they've done for gospel music. (miss you Vestal!)

It’s so cool to see mark being serious and emotional. He’s so good.
I love this song and how it makes you realise Jesus didn’t just appear but he was a small baby who needed to be cared for and depended on adults just like all of us.
No one sings this like Mark & Friends!! Timeless.

Thank you so much for everything, Lord Jesus! Praise your Holy Name!❤❤❤
Mark touches my Saul when he sings this song. Thank you Lord for sending this gift to us.
This is by far the best heartfelt version of the song
This has to be one of the all time best Christmas songs ever--written from the heart--pure, simple and oh, so true. I love it so much. The whole gospel in this one song, from a his mother's perspective. Wonderful.
Totally awesome! Praise His Name, Glory Hallelujah!
Thank you so very much Mark Lowry for the absolutely beautiful song. It really moved the heart and soul.
