Hi Gav can't believe it was watching this as you said about the two people that were murdered and that day was the first day of the trial . I love that valley and yes I do know the history. I've read a book about the two guys and the theories behind what happened back in the early 1900s
Love it. Oh the fun I had when younger, 4wding, having a traveller, or 6, camping, exploring, and just enjoying the silence. Lucky you. Way to go digger.😊
Just stumbled across your channel now mate. First video I have seen of yours and really enjoyed your laid back yet fairly informative approach to the content. I feel after watching that video it would give people a fairly good idea weather or not they could drive that section and it was easy to follow the tracks with the places your stopped and names you mentioned of each junction. Bloody great content mate.
Like wise mate I'm gonna post to UK they'll love it 2019 I did a 15000 KLM trip round Oz a busted arse Rodeo made it but! These poms 2 of em doing a roadtrip in the same ute.
Prior to what happened with that unfortunate couple at Wonnangatta, I’d never heard of that place. I’m guessing now that we’re free again, that area will become infinitely more popular. I’d heard of Dargo & other popular towns around the great alpine area. I haven’t been touring for very long, mostly north eastern areas. New subscriber.
Cheers for the Sub mate. I reckon the high country will be more traveled now since this covid has happened… people staying closer to home, but don’t let that stop you from coming over this way. It’s an amazing place, plenty of options-places to go remote, or you can go to the places frequently visited by most people… either way, you will be exploring for years. Hope to see you over here one day soon Cheers
G'day mate, this is crazy. The news was on and mum said I've had enough of it so I said all right. Let's watch our favourite. I turned on this episode and you explained how it was when the guy was caught for allegedly killing in the valley the same time the news dispersed the original jury for the case
Did the crosscut saw circuit Walk 30 years ago on the fourth day came out to the zika track. Couldn't find the track back to our car and would you believe it? There was a guy coming along the track in a troopy picked us up and took us to our car
You can always rely on a guy in a troopy 👍🏼🤣 I don’t know how people can walk around for 4 days in the bush., I wish my body would let me but it can’t. So it’s the troopy for me. 👍🏼
Yeah Nick, it was a great weekend with great good people… and got to drive some awesome tracks. Have to love the VHC. 👍🏼 Glad your enjoying the videos !
Great vids mate. Keeping it real with no bravado. I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep it up. Just subbed.💪 PS - We were in the area same time as you it seems. Small world.
I solo drive in a 09 hilux and thinking of doing zeka spur into Wonnangatta in a week or so. It’s always good to get an idea of the track recently. Have watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them. Just subscribed. Cheers!
I know cameras don't always catch trail steepness etc, but that all looked quite reasonable. Were there harder bits you didn't film? Trying to decide if I should have a cracke with my subaru forester..
Wasn’t as steep as I was expecting from what I’d been told, but my gopro did fall off on the steepest section…But in saying that the forester will most likely make it.
Yeah, not what I was expecting, but the added a heap of switchbacks that cut out a lot of the steep section, you can see the old track in places. But it’s a good track to a awesome area!
Hey Joel, sorry mate I can’t remember now it was a while ago. It looks good from far but far from good. Its a shocking fit, can’t put the pinch weld on it as it sticks out to far. Very disappointed in it, spoke to the suppliers and they said ot should for a troopy. Got sick of arguing about it. 🤦🏽 If you ever find a good one for a troopy send me the link !! 👍🏼
Hey Stackner, it’s basic, a couple of fittings from Bunnings, consisting of an elbow male to female with a tap and some clear hose. Nothing special that’s for sure.
Thanks mate just asking as I recently changed the water jerry cans I use to ones that look similar to yours but the normal tabs don't seal too well on these ones
@@clintAdventures yeah ok. I used the elbow out of the Jerry can it’s self so I could put an inline tap in place, as the tyre is right there. The elbow isn’t overly tight, but it doesn’t leak. Let’s me move it around to suit.
Just an old set of Mickey Thompson ATZ 33inch, prob at 50% tread. I'm due for a new set, just trying to get through to winter and will grab some MT's. tossing up whether to go 35's? what's your thoughts on tyre brands? I'm thinking ill stick with the Mickeys, even though they will burn a hole in my wallet !!
@@rudvs the Mickey ATz are an aggressive All-Terrain. I’m just chasing a bit more clearance for the diff on the Troopy, as to why I want 35’s. I reckon I’ll keep the old 33’s as the highway driving tyres
I realize this. But it’s ok to have firearms in at Wonnangatta and to be able to hunt but not fly a drone? It’s definitely not the first drone to be flown in there and put onto a UA-cam video.
Well, CASA would have to also pick the 1000s that fly them along the Great Ocean Rd, 12 Aposotles, over Whales breaching etc etc.... It's a bit like the days on mp3 downloading, legal action was futile. Funny how CFA and Parks Vic use drones.... Couldn't think of a safer place the middle of bum fark... Then again, the world is full of Mrs Mangle type people
My thoughts totally. I will pick and choose where I fly the drone, obviously some locations I won’t fly it due to respect to the indigenous or environmentally sensitive areas.

I reckon it would be a good read. I should probably do a lot more reading on the topic, my knowledge is pretty limited on the old Wonnangatta murders.
Love it. Oh the fun I had when younger, 4wding, having a traveller, or 6, camping, exploring, and just enjoying the silence. Lucky you. Way to go digger.😊
Thanks Mort… I’ll always have 1 or 2 as I get close to camp, especially after a big drive. Oh to be young again. 🤦🏽👍🏼
Great videos 👍
Cheers Craig, and thanks for taking the time out to watch. 🍻
Beautiful high country! Looking forward to episode 2. Thanks so much for sharing.
Cheers, it certainly is a beautiful bit of country.
Great video and thanks for the journey. New subscriber :)
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the support. 👍🏼
If you open your backdoors, i would get in and drive off, oh yes, I love these cars very much!!!!
Best I be locking it up then ! 👍🏻

Bahaha, what’s the chances. Be interesting to hear the outcome, I heard he pleaded not guilty. 🤷🏼
Great video mate 👍🏻 enjoying your channel
Thanks mate … appreciate it ! 👍🏼
Who else noticed the Parks Vic gate winched out of the ground?
Nice video mate, just found you, sub from me
More than likely that would’ve been VicPol investigators.

Hey Kon. Cheers mate. How’d you and Matty pull up on Sunday? Heard you kicked on well into Sunday night !
Another great episode Gav 👍. Had a beer with Johnno yesterday 🍺 Cheers Sparra.
Cheers Sparra, he said you were at the Fishing Club, sorry I didn't drop in.
When you coming for a drive up in the hills ?
I go up there often, During the week most times, the joys of retirement

Solo is the best way to travel in my opinion, do it all in your own time.

Did Zeka about 30 years ago and then I did it a few months ago and I thought I remember it being a lot steeper, still a great track

Hi mate. Can I ask what tap setup that is your running on your jerry cans on the rear bar? Looks interesting at the start of the video.

Just a few switch backs, how many did you have to do multipoint turns?🤪
Just the one … looks like they have done some work to a few of them.
Great Footage Gav, if you keep this content up I can keep working all weekend and not miss a thing.
You need to get up into the High Country and see it first hand !!

You might want to delete this video - it's a $3300 fine for flying a drone in a national park. CASA don't muck around.
I realize this. But it’s ok to have firearms in at Wonnangatta and to be able to hunt but not fly a drone?
