I vote for Dan ! I think those of us in Vasc Nation, even newbies, have our ears tuned to the nuances of Dan’s voice and prefer it. I know there’s so many songs I didn’t appreciate until Dan’s voice!
Exactly! He introduced me to a lot of new songs, and although the originals, in most cases, are good, Dan just does his Dan things to them and makes them so much better!
I am part of the “Vasc Majority” 😂 (totally stealing this) and absolutely prefer Dan’s version. To me Dan just brings more emotion into it, even in the softer parts. Maybe it’s his expression(s), maybe it’s the rich timbre of his vocals, not sure, just know it’s my absolute favorite rendition. Thanks for another awesome reaction, I just really appreciate the interactions and insight each of you add! 😊
Not only is he the best vocalist out there right now, but he is the most magnificent man I have ever seen. Top of the gene pool!!!!! So nice to look at!!
Dan Vasc is incapable of doing anything less than an exquisite performance! The man is pure perfection in the vocal department! Great reaction as always! Cheers boys!
I think Dan's voice is a lot richer in tones, vibrato and range in his overtones, than that of David Draimann. He's also a lot more introverted than usual in this song, and putting his brasilian accent into it quite a lot in the beginning, and making it much more versatile both vocally and emotionally.. Disturbed definitely brought a whole new dimension to the song, when they brought their version out, but Dan takes it just that step deeper emotionally, which is one of the things he really masters.
He has sounded like the the main vocalist in many of his covers so this one is not any different. To me he may have used Disturbed music but he changed it up some. Thats Dan! You couldn’t hear the drums as prominent, he may have softened them like some. He can do subtle changes that you can hardly motice but he makes it his own! Love Dan and his covers ❤ May he never stop entertaining us.
I've heard and enjoyed S&Gs melodic original, Disturbed's great cover, but...but, Dan Vasc's voice is richer and fuller to my ears! My vote goes to Dan Vasc.
Absolute homage to disturbed cover. Perfection. Plus a simply more pure voice than Dramen. The rock opera trainimg comes through. Dont forget his videos are done in his garage without expensive backing.
It’s obvious Dan covered Disturbed, and for me it is as good as theirs. It’s just amazing how Dan can emulate any original song, and make it even better 99% of times. He’s a musical genius. I don’t know I f you have reacted to Dan’s ’The Number of the Beast’, if not, go straight to it, it’s awesome. Thanks for your great reaction👌
Nice reaction! This is the first song by Dan I ever heard, on 9/15/20, and it was definitely influenced by the Disturbed version. His 2016 cover is closer to Simon and Garfunkel. Speaking of them, check out Dan's cover of Scarborough Fair. Also check out his Christmas covers, his DragonForce covers, Dawn of Victory, and his newest video, The Number of The Beast.
I am voting for Dan Vasc. Every cover he sings, he sounds better than the original. A great example is Poker Face. Give that a listen. It will blow you away.
I seem to remember that he did say that he was covering the Disturbed version. He put his own spin on it, as he always does, though. Dan Vasc has to be the best modern musical artist. His voice is outstanding and he makes the most of it.
It was a Disturbed Version cover. Lol I had to go back and compare them back to back. Close. Listening to them both, I really had a hard time believing he would (in my mind) replace Disturbed's version. BTW I appreciate the stopping of the video during to discuss. Most who wait til the end tend to forget sometimes very pertinent ideas and thoughts. 😉
So I have been following Dan since April with Amazing Grace and he converted me into a Metal Head after years of discounting metal as a legit genre of music. So zi have been happily listening to various artists. If Dan covers a song I want to hear the version everyone else "chats" about. So I have listened to Disturbd a few times and Dan's several times. Here is my opinion on this "battle", We all know that Dan is superb at adapting any song to his liking. He could metal up the ABC's nursery song if he was asked to!!!! I think that Dan has si much respect for what Disturbd did with The Sound of Silence, that he covered it as an Homage to them, rather than adding his signature screams and making it his own. I think it was a sign of respect from one artist to another. Dan has just that quality of decency to honor a version that was very unique and saluted it. If I am right, I like Dan even more which seems impossible!! Thanks guys for an interesting segment. I choose to admire and enjoy both versions because they are both great. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!
Think David's voice a little richer, more mature, comes with age I suppose. Dan said it was a cover of Disturbed's version and as such he does a wonderful job. I love it when listening with eyes closed it could almost be David singing... great reaction thank you
I went back and listened to Disturbed's Sound of Silence. I felt like he held back his vocal style and played it safe. Whereas, Dan Vasc added so much more to the song with more metal grit. Dan uses the power of his vocals to project the feelings /emotions within the song. His use of his facial expressions help to create his sound as well as evoking passion and power. Yet, he can turn on a dime with incredible beauty in the quality of his voice transferring back and forth to metal grit with ease. Dan is in the #1 position for this song.
😂The “Vasc majority” prefer Dan Vasc. “Disturbed” had the Sound of Silence trophy until I heard Dan Vasc sing it. I just prefer Dan’s voice. Can’t help it. I know what I like. I never thought anyone could top Whitney Houston singing Star Spangled Banner but then I heard Dan sing it. (Sorry, Whitney!) Amazing Grace…Dan wrecked it for me…my ears no longer want to hear it any other way. 🏆
So I went and listened to Disturbed. Never heard of them but it was ok but I'll give this one to Dan Vasc. Of course I grew up listening to Simon and Garfield. So for me it's a big step to go from S&G to Dan.
I would put Dan and Pentatonix both at number one, EXCEPT...the Dan metal is better than all of them.. I love the Dan growl. I love to see it. I love to hear it...about 50 times in a row, then do it again.
Dan followed Dave's model. I was a teenager when the original came out, and that was too folksy for me for the gravity of the song. When David sung it, I thought it was perfect. I think both of them did the song almost exactly the same. I can tell the difference. David's voice is a little silkier. David's version is still #1 for me. Maybe it was his training. His version made me cry.
This is a Fabulous performance! I have recently come across another “Sound of Silence” by Tom Ball- actual performance on AGT. Please review! He absolutely makes this song HIS Own❣️❣️❣️
I was surprised you did not do DanTheMan in the original bunch. And though it will not make the top of the list, I still think Adam Chance with the Hound and the Fox deserve a listen!
Question? Who was covering who. Who did it first? Dan or Disturbed? I found a version of this song by a much younger Dan. Not sure the year. Maybe you guys can help me out.
Its beautiful...and his voice is stunning...but he didnt bring anything new to it or different...so while fabulous i would not have put him in the runniNG for thr sounds of silence battle. Geoff and Disturbed are my tied favorite.
It’s more of a tribute! Dan doesn’t always do the same thing. You must have noticed. It seems like you want to be so negative even when you’re saying something good. Just my open opinion.
Dan Vasc is excellent, but after all, he’s covering Disturbed’s version of this iconic song. I also would place it second to David Draiman and Disturbed. Great rendition, but a cover should have a bit of the performer’s spin on it, and I just don’t think it quite went there.
Beautiful voice. However - no harmony which is what the original was about. It just loses something with no harmony. It’s really like comparing apples and oranges. As a stand alone song it’s amazing but it’s not the same song Simon and Garfunkel sang. If it had been in the “competition” it would have come in last for me. In a competition of solo singers I’m sure I would have rated it higher.
Simon and Garfunkel did a great job on it in THEIR style, but this is Dan doing Dan things to a song and making it a thousand times better. If Dan had wanted to do it in their style, he could have, and that would have been better than the original, too, and I loved the original! If you want harmony, check out his cover of Africa by Toto and Handel's Hallelujah, which he did as a one-man choir. Dan is absolutely amazing!
My vote goes to Dan Vasc. He is simply the best.
I vote for Dan ! I think those of us in Vasc Nation, even newbies, have our ears tuned to the nuances of Dan’s voice and prefer it. I know there’s so many songs I didn’t appreciate until Dan’s voice!

@@josiahrobinson6135 Yep!
@@josiahrobinson61351000% agree!!!
Me too
@@josiahrobinson6135 it’s the tone of Dan’s voice that draws a person in and then you realize his skills.
That's a cover of Disturbed version. I just love Dan Vasc's voice better, easily.
Dan Vasc wins every time! Thank you for your reaction!
❤❤❤ Dan is so fantastic.... agree... amazing!!!!!
Dan Vasc for sure!!

Yes, it was a Disturbed cover.
Dan said in his description that it was inspired by Disturbed. Love your reaction and of course love Dan Vasc.
Dan is the best!!! ❤

David who????
Lol
There are some similarities, but Dan just has a quality that David doesn't have.
But that's just me.
Yes Christine! Prefer Dan's version of Disturbed, just because of Dan's voice and the way he shows emotion. Thank you Guys for another great Reaction!
So many loves Dan Vasc I’m one of them Dan never disappoints. Sending love from America ❤❤❤❤😅😊
Dan Vasc is the best singer 🔥🔥🔥 #1
I've heard and enjoyed S&Gs melodic original, Disturbed's great cover, but...but, Dan Vasc's voice is richer and fuller to my ears! My vote goes to Dan Vasc.
Nobody does it better than Dan! He sings this song the way it was meant to be sung. He is incredible!
DAN VASC é maravilhoso espetacular incrível!!!!! Ele é absurdamente top!!!!!!! Obrigada por duas reações...
DAN DAN HE'S our Man if he can't win no one should! He himself calls this a cover of the disturbed vision.
Dan just has the more beautiful voice, so doing Disturbed's version with Dan is #1 for me. No contest.
Absolute homage to disturbed cover. Perfection. Plus a simply more pure voice than Dramen. The rock opera trainimg comes through. Dont forget his videos are done in his garage without expensive backing.
You can tell he was holding back at certain points in the song, to do a clean cover of the song.
Hi guys!
Loved your reactions and your words about Dan.
Listen last video Number Of The Beast. Is so cool.

TKS GUYS SEE HIS OPERATIC SIDE IN GETHSEMANE, THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, NASSUM DORMA.
I agree! Gethesemane is level Broadway. ❤
Dan all the way!!
Dan Vasc #1
Definitely Dan!
I agree. I heard Disturbs version first so I think it’s a tie as well … but Dan is cuter. Lol
I seem to remember that he did say that he was covering the Disturbed version. He put his own spin on it, as he always does, though. Dan Vasc has to be the best modern musical artist. His voice is outstanding and he makes the most of it.
Dan forsure!
You should know by now that Dan silence any other voice with his beautiful voice!!!❤❤I enjoy your reactions very much.❤❤
Actually Dan wanted to cover Disturbed version, everybody knows that 😮
Dan is my vote
You guys are spot on i loves the simplicity of his videos
I like Dan's best
I love Dan's version best. I liked Disturbed's video but I think Dan's vocals have more colour . Dan did say he was doing Disturbed's version

O DAN VASC, sem comentários! Ele é o artista do UA-cam! Obrigada por suas reações!!!!!!!!!
Спасибо за знакомство с интересным певцом! Лайк!
Иду слушать его творчество.
Glad we could steer you his way!
Dan Vasc first & last (& best).
He's Amazing and can sign everything ❤
Dan does not use other people’s vocals. He layers his voice. Handel’s Messiah or Bohemian Rhapsody is an example.
Dan Vasc and Geoff Castelucci wins my vote for the best version polar opposites in feeling.
This is sooooo beautiful. Amazing talent. Dan wins!!!
(Sorry, Whitney!)
Amazing Grace…Dan wrecked it for me…my ears no longer want to hear it any other way. 🏆
"Vasc Majority" is a winner.
Dan's version is a good version. It does remind me of Disturb's version with subtle changes
my vote; Fan Vasc tic!
It,s all him guys
So I went and listened to Disturbed. Never heard of them but it was ok but I'll give this one to Dan Vasc. Of course I grew up listening to Simon and Garfield. So for me it's a big step to go from S&G to Dan.
It is better than Disturbed in my opinion. Dan is the best! This was meant to be a cover of the Disturbed version.
Your voice has rocked my world. ❤
Dan wins!!!
Check out Dan Vasc singing "Bring Me To Life" Cover [MALE VERSION] - EVANESCENCE. Listen to the female version first, then Dan's. Pretty amazing.
What about "Henk poort - the sound of silence" he is from the netherlands and sing it live
Dan does several songs that sound like the original singer. For a real shocker please react to his cover of Sabatons The Last Stand.
Hey guys if you want a Dan comparison… he has 2 versions of Priscilla’s Song - voice with lute and metal!😊
I would put Dan and Pentatonix both at number one, EXCEPT...the Dan metal is better than all of them.. I love the Dan growl. I love to see it. I love to hear it...about 50 times in a row, then do it again.

Dan nailed Disturb's version.
He does enjoy singing harmony, so maybe he'll end up also doing Simon & Garfunkle's.
Fun battle.
Love Vasc Majority. ❤️
He already did, a few years ago.
@@YaaLFH oh no, somehow I missed it.
Need to do bring me to life alot of growling in that one
Dan sounds eerily like David drainman in his ten thousand fists cover as well

Please listen to his cover of Sabaton's "The Last Stand".
You will be surprised...
I vote Dan
Okay watced this and then went and watched the Disturbed version and I have to say Dan takes first place. Tough to explain why but thats my opinion.
Listen to his journey/steve perry you will go wild
YES JERZYYYYY🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dan is the winner plus he sings Opera Italian I don't think Disturbed can do like you know I'm just saying❤
I like both Disturbs version and Dans equally.
Dan Vasc is better than anyone 😅
Tip, pokerface bij dan vasc Please ‼️‼️
I was surprised you did not do DanTheMan in the original bunch. And though it will not make the top of the list, I still think Adam Chance with the Hound and the Fox deserve a listen!

Disturbed did it first. Dan says that he was covering disturbed's version in the description of the version we reacted too
Thank you. Still think Dan did it best. He puts such feeling into the song, like it comes from his soul
Its beautiful...and his voice is stunning...but he didnt bring anything new to it or different...so while fabulous i would not have put him in the runniNG for thr sounds of silence battle. Geoff and Disturbed are my tied favorite.
Now to complete your survey, you need to do The Hound & The Fox's version with Adam Chance which is more S&G-ish.
check out pour some sugar on me he goes to the beach ! its hilarious !
Ogre thats quite the barr you got going on behind you friend lol
It is! Ogre likes variety!
GUYS ... YOU NEED TO HEAR DAN VASQ SING ... SWEET CHILD O MINE .. I THINK ITS BETTER THAN AXLE ROSE 👍👍
Agreed.✅
You need to listen to amazing grace
