One question. I'm 40 I haven't really worked out since I got out of the military. Is it too late for me?

“Shins will always hurt”
I needed to hear this. I was under the illusion there was a mythical place of no more pain after months of conditioning
I hoped there was. Damn
Right bro I just started training beginning of January and I’ve been thinking I can’t wait till these kicks don’t hurt anymore😂now i know
Even when u successfully check a kick, it still hurts lol.. definitely not as much as if u don’t check it.. but he’s right pain is always there.. u get tougher & just get used to it
I mean hypothetically you could use Botox... But idk if it's a good idea because of the spread by impact although it could work not really sure exactly. Plus pain is good because chances are even if it works you'll try to go too hard and get seriously injured if you don't have any boundaries.
No he’s only half way right u will feel drastically less pain and the first kicks you throw for the most part won’t hurt at all if u didn’t condition less amount of kicks will hit and discontinue u
i wanna condition my shins for some weird ass reason..guess i came to the right place
😂😂
You never know when somebody will challenge you to kick a baseball bat

John Trachsel, yup! No shortcut, just gotta kick bags/pads. I’d add that you can choose the newer Thai pads that still need some breaking in rather than the comfy, soft ones that have already been kicked to death.

Must Read you will know best thing here ,
if you ignore this message then you will think about it , what was written in that whole message .
Before Your Death know your creator and follow the order of your creator
Allah - Arabic Word ] Creator Name
Iswar - Hindi Word. ] in Diff Lang
God - English Word ]
= > You cant make creator but he created you
NOW
= > No One created ALLAH/GOD , actually creator is
beyond from our imagination ,
beyond from our limits ,
beyond from our thinking , ability etc etc
GENERALLY people do
God Vs Science
= > science is to know about things which is made by GOD and Human's science have limits to know things , even humans can't know fully about created things and matter properties , then how can they know about the creator ALLAH looks like ?
we have limits on everything ,
we can only see Signs of GOD in this world
Signs Of Allah/god
1 ) As we know " Energy Can't Be Created Nor Be Destroyed But May Be Transfer From One Body To Another "
who made this energy from where it comes from . This is the ALLAH/CREATOR/GOD who made energy and everything , he made also that thing which can not be see by our eyes , listen by our ear , or we cant even think and imagine about them .
there are so many things which are hidden bcz god know everything and we can't even imagine that things .
2 ) Allah made you from dirty drop of water from your (dad, mom) and this water Turns into bones regular pumping heart eye ear toungue & it takes shape , a perfect shape size it cant differ .
3 ) Allah gives you a identity from that drop of dirty water , example your face is different from whole world people, and give you eyes which sees and give you different fingerprint every finger have different fingerprint from your every finger and every finger have different fingerprint from whole world people fingerprints .
4 ) suppose if GOD not give you nose then when you eat food then you cant take breath , think how the perfection of our body is made by our creator ALLAH .
5 ) Think about creator , how he made you , is it a joke no no , I don't want anything from you and you will not give me anything , try to understand .
6 ) see egg of hen it is dead but allah create and make in it leg ,eye , ear , heart etc and convert it in to a living creature , and that creature know how to eat , speak , drink , walk this is sign of that allah the CREATOR of everything .
7 ) ALLAH/GOD Made ant , how small it is and it have mind to think , small eyes to see who fit eye lens in it , and have more and more sense than humans , can identity easily where is the sweet and meat . ALLAH made more smaller things than ant , spider etc etc these are signs of Allah .
8 ) think about hair cells , your hand hairs have limit of increasing , you eye hairs have limit of increasing , your head hairs have different limits so this shows that they are made up of same cells but controlling not by you and not by that cells but your creator Allah .
9 ) we say speed light is fastest , ( after researching to a limit by scientists ) before research they were thinking about any other , may be Tomorrow any other thing .
now we should think the creator ALLAH who made light and properties of every matter , how much ALLAH the creator is faster and powerful .
plz read , your whole life depend on what you choose bcz ALLAH the creator will ask you about this life after this life . plz check my playlist i added some imp links
10 ) Think Earth is rotating on its axis and at same time it moving around the sun ,
equator rotating speed is 1700 km/hr moving speed toward sun 107000 km/hr circulate in 365 days .
think carefully please
main point is that this process continue from lakhs of years .
who is holding it , who is rotating it with exact speed and exact time and strength toward sun and amazing fact is that there is also a thing which is also a rotating with sun and earth that is moon .
This is the CREATOR's order . Allah is the creator of everything .
some can say that it is centrifugal force , centrifugal force is property of matter , WHO made this property ?
this is the order of creator who hold everything in a perfection , you can name that perfection as centrifugal force but forgot to the creator .
in Quran Allah says that " we made moon for counting days you see that moon get reduces size like old thin stick of date "
is it a coincidence no bro no, try to understand .
don't think this is a message only . take it serious .
= > Do you think that you are controlling YOUR SELF ?
1 ) Your heart is running can you stop it now ? NO
can you live without oxygen ? NO
can you live without food and water ? NO
( bcz you are not controlling your self because it is controls by your creator ALLAH )
2 ) You need to sleep to recover your self ,
if you can control your self then stop this process you cant do it .
THINK ABOUT when people start imagination about CREATOR ALLAH they start to make their own GOD
example ..
= > they make pictures , sculpture etc and pray to that pictures
can you make god ? no
" you cant see God in this world , you can see God after this world if you obey God/ALLAH "
is God a human being ? no
About Some created God By Humans , some fake god require to eat food , some human worship stone and some worship real god but not follow his order .
If God eat food then have call of nature means need toilet to poop and pee . IT IS NOT THE QUALITY OF GOD so remove these fake gods now .
= > WHO ARE MESSENGERS
Allah send messages to their messenger ( Jesus , Mohammad , Adam , Moses , ABRAHAM etc ) so that , they can tell that message to the people , bcz ALLAH/CREATOR wants to check people , who follow his order and who don't .
we can't say these messengers are son of GOD .
for example
In Christianity , They Pray To Jesus as son of God .
= > we cant pray to Messengers like Jesus , Mohammad , Adam , Moses , ABRAHAM etc
but we should pray to the creator ALLAH / GOD in way as the Messenger told us . now last messenger is Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam .
= > Even we cant worship muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam . we can worship only one creator ALLAH .
if we worship muhammad then we will be in Hell .
= > Keep in mind that Muhammad cannot make a single fly . before prophet muhammad ; adam , jesus , noah , moses had came but we cant pray to any prophet .
= > we should follow last messenger Muhammad and should obey him .
( now last book is quran in which ALLAH'S words are written) to guide people .
Jesus is neither a god nor a son of god , he was a messenger of god .
1 ) ACCORDING TO CHRISTIANITY
= > when people tryied to torture JESUS
and want to beat him and kill him even they were thinking to hang on neils etc etc etc
and after that they started to worship him as a god and also as a son of god .
is it a quality of god that any one can beat him and to nail , jail and hang him , torture him .
2) Jesus Eat Food When He Was Hungry
is it a quality of god ? ( Hungry God ) if he eat food then also do toilet for pee and poop
at that time no toilet seat was there so they used to do that in hidden in grass and back of some trees and stones etc
is it a quality of God ? No
= > JESUS WAS A MESSENGER OF ALLAH
before jesus birth , people follow whom ,
before prophet jesus people follow prophet of that time like Adam , Moses , Noah , Abraham etc .
These were the messenger of Allah at their time on earth now last messenger is Muhammad , you should follow muhammad now .
= > if some one make cartoon of any prophet even jesus , moses , noah , adam etc then we muslim will fight to them like in france a case happened ,
COMMANDMENT Of Creator Is .
1 ) Allah / Iswar / God is only one god and prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam allah's Last messenger
2 ) namaz/salah/prayer according to prophet muhammad sallallahu alehi vasallam .
if you ignore these 5 times prayer then you will be sinful ,
if you do your own type prayers then this will be rejected bcz you have to follow messenger not created your own
and obey Allah then you will be in paradise inshallah
" REMEMBER you have to go back to that creator ALLAH who is the master of all "
= > Islam is for everyone not only for Muslim bcz
muslim means submit to one creator
when you were child then you only submitted to your creator you were muslim .
it doesn't not matter who are you and from where you belong and what you followed in past ?
DONT JUDGE MUSLIM to see islam ,
to see islam you should read QURAN and sunnah of prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam .
in islam worship only creator one allah in the way that he tells to his messenger to do
= > YOU should follow ALLAH the creator and it will be true for you
If You Follow It.
if you do not follow then
you reject it , you ignore it and you reject the creator .
Allah says in Quran chapter 2 Ayatul kursi
" Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge-except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.. "
your whole life depend on what you choose bcz ALLAH the creator will ask you about this life after this life .

“No running, No Muay Thai” best quote ever
It's really awesome that he starts the video with a disclosure that you are never going to not feel pain while conditioning. I've been looking for good ways to condition bones and body parts and this is the first person who has started off their video with that kind of honesty. Love the energy that you're giving when you're teaching this, great job and thank you
I used to have a lot of shin splits and i finally understood that it’s actually the muscle on the shin that is sore since people don’t usually train that muscle. So if you have harder muscles on your shins it should protect you more so I highly advise to train that muscle. Never had shin splits ever again
I always would get shin splints when running. I noticed as I was conditioning my shins that it was less pain over time and I actually can run longer distances.
@@volcom05345 I started running recently week ago. Got a lot of shin pain. Can you please help me to understand how did you condition shin pain and how much time it took to run without pain?
Thank you! I’ve been kickboxing for over a year now and recently when I check kicks, or my kicks get checked, they hurt (obviously) but more often than not I felt like my legs were genuinely injured by it - my legs felt like they were snapping in half. Really looking forward to putting your advice to good use
Awesome tips, thank you brother
I absolutely love your transfel make!! If It’s can cryisze it behave the more consistently you lol essentiallykil you shins with in and unbearable deficit: got generally health benefits from n this awesome sport you’ve to think abuot this. Especially longevity. So leave the the sun smashing for maxing of 2 a week and goo all out. You sill notice that you have because very complacent when is comes to the pull away of the kick rather than snap in and snap a away. Sorry to be that bloke bruz but you have put all your heart and soul into!😊
Sorry but this comment was meant for the op. Hape it hel! Love you work!
Do you compete or just train kickboxing?
Started muay thai a few weeks ago. Getting my heavy bag delivered soon. Cant wait to start training my shins. Theres a large lake nearby also. Gonna start run laps around it every morning
Bro
2 years later. Took up boxing, Taekwondo and Tricking classes also. Put on a lot of healthy weight.
I train on a heavy bag, spar bar and reflex ball/double end bag (don’t remember it’s name just what I’ve heard it called) Developed skills I never had before such as defensive boxing manoeuvres and advanced Taekwondo kicks. Currently working to improve my aerobic skills and achieve my 1080 kick. My confidence has improved and also my self esteem. Working out in between training sessions is a great opportunity for working on my mental state, focusing on my goals and maintaining discipline.
Additionally took up learning skills outside of martial arts and fitness such as learning Spanish (popular world wide language - great for career opportunities), Korean (because of Taekwondo) and Thai soon, and progressing towards my programming career.
@@STARKILLER15100 I want to start Muay Thai but what do you think I should do start at home with a punching bag or take Muay Thai classes ?
That was the most helpful advice I've found on shin conditioning in the past 8 years of trying. Everyone else claims they don't feel pain anymore and blah, blah, blah. I've been using ice instead of heat, but I'm definitely going to try heat now. 👍👍
Happy to help! Thanks for tuning in
Probably the best vid I've seen on this. I appreciate the lack of ego and the approach. And hell yea, it hurts!
I appreciate the love!
I’m a beginner and kicking the bag even lightly hurts my shins. Need this video
Awesome tips! Running actually makes a lot of sense, the Thai's do a ton of running. I have never been a professional but with a Dutch kickboxing and Kyokushin background and having endured a lot of hard sparring and gym wars. I feel like I've tried almost everything I could think of, including gravel filled burlap sacks, cement dust filled heavy bags, sand filled glass bottles and even rolling pins. Besides standard heavy bag work, an old bald truck tire, hanging from a chain, is my favorite. One of my toughest training partners was a Kyokushin guy him and I were debating how to defend a body kick set up, my shins were conditioned using the tire, his were not, he foolishly high checked my switch kick to the liver and it split his shin open, through his gi pants, I was only wearing Thai shorts! A little bit of a freak clash injury but it seemed to
be a pretty compelling argument for tire conditioning.
Best no nonsense video on shin conditioning I've seen Sean they always hurt it's the truth!
I really appreciate that 👊🙏
seriously. your legs dont last forever. most people get major injuries more from training than actual combat. train smart, fight with moves that protect you in combat AND training.

Man I love your bag work and shadow boxing tutorials much love from Cali.. "fighting hurts, kicking shit hurts. Get used to it!"
This was really a great instructional-thank you for taking the time. One of my biggest fears in Muay Thai was going shin-to-shin. Apart from the excruciating pain, I was concerned about snapping the shin. At my old gym I had to spar with a gigantic Polish guy who had freak strength and massive bones (no shin Guards). It was a pain clinic, and after a few minutes I was in too much pain to throw any more lowkicks.
It’s reassuring to know that even pros continue to feel the pain. Thought I was just a complete wuss.
Your kicks are freaking scary. Impressed and subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks so much for the love 🙏
Used to train Muay Thai. Best conditioning I ever went through and far as cardio it’s insane training.
Great video brother!
Yea Muay thai is no joke!
7th degree black belt in Taekwondo master here. In addition to all his saying try bakery roller to condition your shin helps a lot. Start with 3sets of inner and outer side shin in both legs. Buy one with bearings inside and start with low pressure, then gradually increase. I hope this helps.
I remember way back when I was training Muay Thai, we'd roll bamboo down our legs....but not at ALL violently like this video. More of a gentle/constant rolling pressure. No idea if that's better or worse, just an anecdote. Video is awesome!
Thanks for the support!
Yeah shins will always hurt, you'll get a little used to it but it will never be pain free.
Nice video man!
Thank you much appreciated!
Thought this was going to be the usual buuuuullllsshhhiiitttt, but couldn't agree more with your points. Good job.
One more tip... When you hurt your shin, ignore it and carry on regardless. Your body will react more if you're a wimp about the pain. I learnt this years ago, and got a lot less shin swelling.
Remember, if your mind don't care, your body doesn't matter!

Right there at 2:39 you could've added the part from The Sandlot. "Forever..."
That would have been Gold.
Thanks mate. I had my first no shin guard K1 fight yesterday and wow, my shins after were in crazy pain. Never have I experienced that. Today is even crazier Haha. My max walking speed is 0.5mph. My calf on 1 side looks hugh though and I've always wanted big calves so looks good haha. Off to Thailand october first as have sponcer so be doing plenty more no shin guard fights. Will use all your advice.
Bro this video is dope, your energy literally is straight up, no bs. Thank you hearing that they will always hurt regardless gives me peace, knowing that badasses feel pain too. Lol
Also some things I have discovered to aid in recovery:
Tib Raises -> pumps blood through your shins and fresh blood = healing
Isometric BW Squat or weighted barbell front squat-> Literally just sit in the Squat position for like 30 seconds with or without weight. It's like taking a sponge and squeezing out all the liquid, then when you stand back up after 30s your pumping fresh blood to your legs and the sponge "reabsorbs". Plus you just get a nice good stretch in all your tendons.
Isometric work increases longevity and strength in our joints.
Excellent video my friend! I learned a lot, and I hope my comment contributes to the discussion on shin recovery. I definitely fall into the school of "that guy who watched too many buakaw UA-cam videos and now kicks the shit out of the bag at a commercial gym because he wants to harden his shins for some reason" 😂😂😂😂😂
Tib raises make a ton of sense in general, for this purpose too
He kicked the "shin" out off that poor tree.. 😂 😂

I love how you address the haters first..get that sh*t out of the way. And now for the lesson. 😂

Ouch! Yes! Consistency is key in my experience. I enjoyed watching this and appreciate your honest response and analysis. I do a modified form of Wing Chun and BaGua that places a lot of emphasis on physical conditioning, (shin and forearm) Enjoy your channel
Up to this moment I'm a martial artist dabbler, I don't have a heavy bag or anything, I want to get one in the future, or even sign up for a martial arts school, but I've conditioned my shin a little bit by kicking my office chair that's made of leather and foam haha
Hi Sean! I was playing with my friend ( sparring) and every time i do the roundhouse middle kick i almost always hit his elbow with my foot! Please correct me on what i am doing wrong!
You're kicking from too far away, you need to move in closer. A good point of reference is, you want the area of the shin about 3 inches below your knee to hit your target. This is the hardest part of your shin, and the most painful for your opponent to be hit with. Now go get em! 💪
@@joshhernandez5069 thank you sir! I do most apreciate you helping me! Sorry for my bad english! Best of luck to you! :D
@@vaseavasile2372 No problem! I had this same problem when I first started. I used to do Taekwondo so I was used to kicking with my foot, it was just a habit I had developed. It felt very unnatural and uncomfortable to kick with my shins only. But after awhile and with lots of practice I got used to it. Now I always use my shins, unless it's a teep or push kick.
It's very dangerous to kick with your feet in Muay Thai, for the same reason you named, you might kick an elbow! I've seen guys break their feet before!

Sway: "Let's interupt him while he is making a video"
Sean: "I'm trying to make a video here Sway!"
This guy is 100 percent genuine although I did find shin conditioning did help and did numb them a little but yeah it definitely still hurts just not as much
Recovery tip from a working ballet dancer and muay thai hobbyist, roll out your calves and perineal muscles. Then you use one tray of ice and a large bucket soak both legs in the ice water for no more than 8 minutes, but you'll recover so fast.
This saves me when I have 8 hour dance days 👀 the ice dip Is great for healing bone, bruises and the swelling. Take it from someone who stand on their toes for a living lol
Thank you sir. Will be training more.
All the best
thanks for this video! trained at Diamond while on Koh Phangan a few weeks ago, now in chaing mai looking for my first fight. it helps to know that its just gonna hurt no matter what. cheers
Awesome man! Two of my favorite places in the world. Have fun in your fight!
@@seanfagan saw you at team quest in Chaing Mai too...the fight scene here is small. I have a fight on the 27th at chiang mai stadium. I'd like to vlog the process if you have any tips.
So..kick the heavy bag?😂
Yes lol
also a blazing opiate addiction helps for the pain just saying lads
Hilarious and informative. Lol
Thanks Ryan 🙏👊
great vid,,truth, truth, truth will set you free, to feel the PAIN on those shins,,, my shins hurt just watching this..ouch.... great advice Mr.Fighter.
As a sport, I much prefer Boxing over Muay Thai, but I'd still give some effort to master at least one kick for my arsenal/repertoire so I can also rely on more than just punching when it'd come to fighting outside of the ring (street fights, bar fights etc.) and the beginning of this video kinda motivates me to build a powerful shin combined with the perfect low roundhouse kick.
You should never get into a bar fight or street fight. You can only lose.
If you 'win': Legal problems (insurance, injury cases, maybe criminal proceedings), problems with your conscience.
But you can also lose. You might randomly meet a judoka who smashes you into hard concrete or BJJ blackbelt who breaks your limbs. You might meet someone with a knife or even a gun. Bad news.
Don't street fight. Don't train for street fights. You can ALWAYS run away and escape, ALWAYS. If you are strong and confident, you will lose no honor in choosing to be the bigger person. Only strike when someone else strikes first
How I can condition my nuts to make other people shins brake on impact ?
Owning a heavy bag is key.
@@freddmi5212 A heavy hag ?
@@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 A heavy sack if you prefer.
What if I just watch other people do it on UA-cam, wont that make me a pro? 😏
You've found out the secret...
that over over over is really FANNYY MANN KEEP ON DOING YOUR MOVIESS !!!
First video I've seen from you ... no bullshit, straight to the point, good tips for the future ... You have my like and admiration, bald sir!
Haha thanks so much!
I have trainned my shins (once) with the wood stick process and the tula normally. Advice number one was brutal. Thx Bro.
Thanks I just went and smashed my heavy bag for the first time in awhile, it feels good actually.
Lol, the no nonsense honest truth. Great video man!
Haha I try to keep it real. Thanks!

My shins hurt just watching you hit that tree. Jesus! I wish my shins were close to be conditioned like that again. It’s been a while since I trained in martial arts but going to build myself back up for it very soon.
Little by little!
Sean, great advice love the dog. You are still a good looking rooster even after 30 fights.
Very nice mate ..
I always conditioning my shin but I have no knowledge of how to do effectively, or at least this confirms the fact that shin will always hurt 😔
Thanx mate
This video was exactly what it needed to be, nothing more, nothing less. Muchos gracias 🙏 new like and subscriber
First video I watch and I'm already a fan of your style of presentation. Sounds like how I would teach students. I subscribed
Legitimate question.... How about if I don't do any of these things, deal with the pain when I kick my opponent?...it's gonna hurt regardless... Most times I would be kicking someone in the shin that's not used to that...I like to shin kick my opponent to block there kicks.. great video by the way
Respect the honesty
Big doggo in the back at the end 😂😂👌🏻😍
ur advice is like safety first no hardcore pain exercise needed...in time u will get that conditioning.....no pain no gain motto died here
