my mom made this pretty much the same way. She let the dumplings thicken the broth so much it was almost sauce like. Served it over rice. My favorite dinner ever!!
I can't believe I actually made dumplings! And a soup made from a whole chicken, vs. a carcass! This was sooo good. I was searching for a chicken noodle soup recipe and honestly I had to make this after watching the video because the hosts were so convincing. What a success this was

If using a serving spoon to scoop and drop the dumpling batter, dip the spoon into the simmering broth first, the scoop and drop. Repeat for each dumpling.

My Mom makes her dumplings with flour, salt, and the chicken broth. Rolls the dough out to 1/4 to 1/2 inch, then cuts into rectangles, then puts in soup. Mmm Good.😊

I specifically clicked on this because of the way the dumplings look. I prefer my dumpling to kinda fall apart in my soups versus just big balls of dough floating around. This looks perfect for my taste in dumplings, ganna try this one out!
This looks absolutely delicious! But there’s just me and my hubby, so making a big batch like this is out of the question. I guess I could make the broth and freeze both the broth and shredded chicken that I don’t use. I’m gonna try it. Thank you!

Very similar to my recipe only I use an Instant Pot. I also got lazy and started using Grands biscuits instead of my mom's Bisquick recipe. After watching this, it's time for that to end. Its good but they never get fluffy unless you let them steam on top and then its still not the same.

Boiled chickens/bone broths are something I've been doing for decades. Yet, her "foam" on the top is a new one on me... never have experienced that and still not as I'm actually following her steps. Never made dumplings before so following the recipe.... again, the foam??
I’m amazed that you have never had or seen foam especially when it always occurs when boiling chicken 🤣which is why many recipes suggest not bringing the broth to a rolling boil more if a simmer

I made this and was so impressed!
I make my dumplings with sour cream and tiny bit of milk or buttermilk even powdered milk will work. Dumplings are very forgiving like biscuits 😊

Quite a few recipes skip the flip. We do it for even cooking, but you can always try it out to see how it goes.

You might want to reduce the recipe a bit. You can crowd the dumplings in, but you still might have some leftover.

No need to flip the dumplings they cook perfect covered for 10 minutes
We do find that flipping helps them cook more evenly, but if you find you do not need to, great!
