These videos are so useful!! Thank you so much for making this series :))) is there any chance you could do a video for the "g" sound?? I keep ending up pronouncing it similarly to the welsh "ll" which is definitely not the correct way how to

Ah right, that's not correct 😂 thank you for your suggestion! I'm currently taking a bit of a break from putting my face on camera, because of a health issue, but more (pronunciation) videos coming up soon!

Thanks for your videos!. I wonder if the dutch u sound is exactly the same as the dutch voiceless e sound, that we find in words such as we, de,alle, terug, tafel. And is it the same as the english Schwa /ə/ sound?

    ˈcan'
    German: können [ˈkœnən]
    Dutch: kunnen [ˈkœnən]

Yes, German short ö and Dutch short u have the same speech sound [œ]. What is more,r German long ö and Dutch eu have the same speech sound, namely [øː]. However, some more modern linguistic books say that Dutch short u has the same speech sound as German short ü, namely [ʏ]. So, I feel confuse. Perhaps, there are two kinds of Dutch...so they talk about variation between Netherlandic Dutch and Belgian Dutch. I do not know the difference between the two accents of Dutch in pronouncing this short u as in "put, rus, mus". Whether I should pronounce it as [œ] or [ʏ] for the short Dutch u sound, I still wonder.

According to "die deutsche Bühnenaussprache" by Theodor Siebs, the stage pronunciation of German ü and ö have long tense, short tense and short laxed types.
      The pronunciation of German ü
      [yː] as in "Tür", "typisch"
      [y] as in "Physik"
      [ʏ] as in "rücken"
      The pronunciation of German ö
      [øː] as in "König"
      [ø] as in "möblieren"
      [œ] as in "können"
So, which type of German vowels do you mean?

Waarom kijk je niet in de camera? Als je naast de camera kijkt lijkt het alsof je niet tegen je kijkers praat. Het komt vreemd over.
