Excellent, highly informative. And you're all this for free!! The world needs more people like you; who help others without expecting anything in return.
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
So glad I found your channel the other day. I've been doing light workouts for years and stumbled on Olympic weightlifting videos a couple weeks ago. I tried doing the snatch movement last week with just the bar and found I was unable to squat down or up with the bar over my head, my shoulders couldn't handle the strain. I just tried the movement at 7:15 and found it much easier to do, my problem just seems to be lack of flexibility and mobility. Now I can work on getting lower and lower. Pro tips from an Olympian, thank god for youtube, lol.
Excellent video again👍 Could u please do a similar video in the future about top ab/core work exercises (best carryover to weightlifting and functional strength not asthetics)
Sir I get pain on the bone when I keep the bar in my shoulder. And also can't rotate the elbow fully outwards and so have to take the bar with fingers to stabalize. Anything recommended please. And yes you are a great inspiration

He talks about the rotation on the jerk in some of the other videos on his channel. Basically, doing an overhead movement without the rotation at the end puts the weight on your deltoids. By fixing the scapula back and up, you create a stronger and more stable platform. I think I've noticed most of the Russian influenced lifters using this technique. I don't see it advocated as much in the states which is another reason why we get smoked in weightlifting ;)
Yup. The weight is allowed to rest on the much larger upper back muscles instead of the smaller deltoids. Pulling your scapula up also prevents shoulder impingement as the humerus has more room to move about in the cavity.
@@Anton77796 yes but not in the video, its subtitles that ou have to activate via UA-cam settings which I dont exactly trust. Just say i would prefer if the creator of a video overlays the subtitles in the video.

What do you think about press for weightlifting? and why do you like to rotate your shoulders in the jerk?

@@cosmicalian hey man, are y'all talking about shoulder internal rotation??
hi guys, what does warm body cold mind mean?
Where in the US can one find a resistance rope like the one Aleksey uses all the time? I feel like everywhere I have looked its those colorful bands.
+happygingertime Same here in Europe, have not found the one he uses. But until then, I use Thera-Bands.
+happygingertime You can find them at walmart or target. Or even amazon. Just search for resistance tubing.
+Sandal Thanks for the info.
Sandal, Thanks, It helps to know what it's called I guess.
I believe they're on his site now: torokhtiy.com/collections/accessories/products/rubber-band
