this is definitely the best way of getting to the transmission output possible. all the other videos having me disconnect the ball joint from the lower control arm then i spend an hour tryna get it back in. thank u for showing me this lmao.
Is crazy isnt it. Way easier to do it this way, was in the same boat you were.
Glad it helped!
Great video. This is very helpful for my project this afternoon. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the input!
Excellent video! You're a lifesaver, and I appreciate all the tips and all the camera angles. You da man! 🙏🫵😉
Thanks. 👍
Thanks for the video, keep it up 💪🏻
Hey great video, but one thing you forgot to do/mention never ever put in a shaft of any kind and not grease the seal and or the shaft. You can put a grove in the metal or shorten the life of the seal by running it dry like that. Just FYI................................
Great addition. Thanks!!!
Yes I did it the same way like he said,i didn't use any grees, and i still have the leak. I've watched another videos and they recommended that the seal needs to be greased, today i will try with another sealing and grease and I hope it will stop leaking otherwise I don't know where is the problem
I forgot to mention that this time i ordered a genuine Honda sealing and he comes already greased with plenty grease on it, so I think that was my mistake before I didn't use any grees just transmission fluid and I still got leak.i hope this time it will work with grease
Thanks alot man great vid I changed axles and then I noticed my driver side axle started leaking and didn't leak prior to changing. Buddy of mine said I probably damaged the seal and I'm sure I did because I struggled to put the axle in and the pass side went in alot easier and no leak from the pass side.
Glad to help!!
FYI, OEM driver side is 91205-PL3-A01(35X56X8), passenger side is 91206-PHR-003(35X58X8).
Some of the parts diagrams weren't very clear, so I tried scouring forums and groups and all I could find was just a few mentions of the driver side part number and some people having leaking issues, so I'm assuming they used the smaller driver side on the passenger side by accident lol.
Good info
Are those seals for automatic transmission?
2010 civic 5spd, mint, low miles. Low humming noise but not wheel bearings. Could it possibly be the bearing on the drive shaft? I read about tranny bearings but, I’m not getting any issues / sounds/ vibes changing gears. Humming persists if I throw it in neutral when driving.
Hi there,i did it the same way that you said and I still have the leaking problem and I think it's because I didn't use any grees. Today I will try with another sealing genuine from honda and he comes already greased and I hope this will fix the problem otherwise I don't know where the problem my be
What part numbers were your seals? And did you do the passenger side seal as well?
I can find the driver's side seal, but not the passenger side. The part numbers someone else commented here seem to be for manual transmission.
Yes. All that info is right in the video
Would it be the same thing if I just slide the seal on the axle and just install both seal and axle at once?
No, you would just destroy the seal. It needs to be properly pressed into the casing, pre axle install.
Donde puedo conseguir ese repuesto? O autozone lo vende? No logro conseguir el correcto para el lado del driver
Hey I'm doing the same on my 05 accord. Do I not need to put the metal rings from the original seals into the new ones then? Can't find anything about them online or what they're even called.
Im not sure what you are referring to. Most hondas use the same style seal as the civic in this video. But if you tell me if yours is 4 cyl or v6, and if it is auto or manual trans, ill look into it
@@ballsoutperformance Thanks for the quick response. It's the 4 cylinder manual. You can kinda see at 11:19 that there's like a little metal ring inside the lip of the old seal. Nowhere i've checked seems to point it out so im assuming its not important.
Thatll be made into the new seal. So basically you remove the entiew old seal and just replace with the new one.
@@ballsoutperformance Ah okay. Thanks for the help man good tutorial.
No prob. Ill try to help if you get anymore questions
What is the part number for the passenger side..
man these car leaks like crazy , my under car 06 civic is full of oil or transmission leak, i not even know where to start.. my axel seal looks like yours, it's also leaking but i thought it's leaking from the top engine dripping down onto the axle ,
I would clean it really well. Then run it some to try and pinpoint where it is coming from
@@ballsoutperformance
thks man 👍
Does it has two in each side? Thats what I got told any idea
One seal on the drivers side and one seal on the passenger side.
@@ballsoutperformance ok man . Autozone told tha it has 2 for each side . Thanks for reply body
What’s the metal thing that came out with the seal?
The spring from the old seal
He used a #710314 seal for the driver side and a #710630 for the passenger side.
Would it be the other way around for a right hand drive ?
Is ur honda automatic transmission?
Yes
@@ballsoutperformance i got this seal part#2007N ordered from autozone for the same car has urs but i seen u put a different part number i got a 2009 honda civic lx 1.8 automatic trans
I used National brand. Autozone probably carries a different brand and thats why the part # is different. I havent dealt with autozone much so Im not too familiar with their parts.
@@ballsoutperformance thank you 🙏
This guy said grease what does he mean??
Lubricate
Just checked scotty he used Lucas heavy duty grease on the end of axle clip, he says it helps to keep it from falling. Got any insight on a grease to use as that one is discontinued.
Thatvis not driver side
Whst side is it
