This is so awesome with the hip/Americana. It adds to the dilemmas I like to force with the lockdown (i.e. kimura, punch choke, Americana, or sweep to even more submissions). Thanks BMac!

It scares me. I give up the sweep every time. I've seen a few ACLs turned into dust with this. Terrifies me.

Yes definitely. I have seen several injuries from the electric chair, so use with discretion

I regularly get the EC sweep go for the toehold and get choked out
If you fail in your attempt to shelf the leg because your opponent gets strong with their leg. Is there anyway to either reset or fix the sweep or are you able to switch to a different escape?
This was pure magic- I will 100% be drilling this weekend !

A Tenth planet guy once did it to me while rolling, i had no idea what it was, it just felt nasty everywhere my knees my hip, i was like damn am i being submitted right now!!!! Loll.

What do you do when your opponent tries to tap you by standing up?
From the lockdown? If they can stand up I’m definitely not doing it right. It’s impossible to stand up from the lockdown, assuming I have an upper body clinch. Which I always should.
@@brandonmcninja yes. Ive never had that problem either, but some instructors online say that they can get the submissions from standing up. It locks up the legs I guess.

Yeah I see that sometimes. But that’s a demo move. I don’t believe you can do that to someone who has any idea what they are doing with lockdown. Even the slightest idea.
