It’s great to see how much JD is invested into this build. He spends a lot of time just cleaning and doing all of the boring stuff that most kids would give up on. His Dad has a lot of patience in teaching him how to do an economy build and that hard work pays off.

Just add ellectric steering from late modes GM or Saturn cars hooks up and leaves oriigonal box in place and a very easy to install several videos on You tube I done it so it is easy.

Its done as much as your own talents go, I would drive the wheels off of it! Maybe dynomate the ceiling/headliner. The sun visors would make driving a bit easier. Of course if you stumble onto some power steering, its gonna make it a ton easier in small spaces to steer but "Body by ford" as it your body an a ford doing the building of chest muscles/LOL!! I love the hell out of it and think its gonna work well for your son. Its a while before he gets his learners permit and by then those missing pieces should fall into place!

Good question, where does a '59 Ford go? Something of the period, perhaps a vintage car race or a nifty '50s type thing, one of the cool versions with the rat rods, Bettys, and no lawn chair jerks. Maybe the big Carlisle Ford show? It would be neat to get it a part/extra in a TV show or movie that takes place in the early '60s.

My friend, I think that beast looks epic. Sure - she might be a 10-footer in regard to not seeing any minor blemishes, but that's not the point. Nobody sees it up at nit-picking (or bug-picking) distance when she's cruising.....and truth is, she looks great. That sound too- man! What a lovely bass rumble she has! It's a sound one can get very addicted to just riding along at low revs. If you heard the engine, then turned around and saw a 60+ year old classic come rolling around the corner with her dual headlights on and shining like a new tractor, you are GOING to smile. Doesn't matter if it's Ford, GM, Mopar, AMC or British - you WILL smile.....and regardless of it's badge, that Ford has some great lines, the colour pops and the two-tone really looks great. As you say - you don't have to spend megabucks to get a great looking, great sounding classic car - just spend it in the right areas. The results on this car speak to that. Shout it in fact. Some blue or black carpet off-cuts, a head liner of some description (maybe carpet off-cuts again) and some spit-shining on the interior and she's more or less done completely..... ...unless JD wants to go to the expense of door seals, window seals and the like, but that's not low budget any more (don't ask me how I know!). What I do know, is that I'd be out driving that thing as she is and as often as my wallet could stand filling it with petrol!
I must hand it to you as well - those steelies and caps just finish her off as far as looks go - way better than the Hustlers that were on there and it just gives her that "original cruiser" stance with no effort at all.....and that's a look that not all cars can pull off when they sound as good as that one does. They also have the seal of approval from the eventual driver of the car - and I'd be very proud of JD if he were my son as to his reaction when they went on. Hell, I'd be proud of him for the amount of time and effort he put into the beast with you during the build. That car will be his pride and joy for many years - and a source of much learning, enjoyment, heartache and sense of achievement as he finishes her off in the style he wants. So much so that he might have the idea to nick your cameras etc and start his own channel in a couple of years!
Thinking about a destination, are the colours used on the car indicative of any particular tractor make / model? They look a bit like the old Ford tractor colours, but it's been a while since I saw one, so I am not sure. Maybe a trip to the home of the factory that uses those colours for a photo in with them being assembled....if that's not too corny (haha)? Or maybe take her back to the Ford plant she was assembled in back in '59....and wouldn't it be a turn up if they are one and the same place!. All the best

I really like JD's car. It's come a long way. You two worked hard and you did a great job rejuvenating the 59 Ford.
JD is a smart little dude that works for what he wants.
Love watching you guys work together. 👍🇺🇸✌️

You guys did a outstanding job!!! The Ford looks Awesome !! Its really cool to see you and your son take an old car and make it a solid driver to have fun with and not some trailer queen . You guys did a real buget build unlike these other youtuber who say they do buget builds but yet they spend a ton of money on there so call buget builds the kind of money most of us can't afford. Well anyways great job on the old Ford.

This was a brilliant series of videos. I enjoyed you teaching your son the technical aspects but being honest about when good enough is good enough and there’s no need to spend 1000s in cash and hours to get a really good useable project back on the road. Thanks to you and JD from across the pond.

Not sure if its better looking in the video but even before you polished or sanded you had a nice shine on it. That tractor paint lays very well.

The fruits of your labor do show. Looks great. JD did a great job bringing those wheels and caps back. Hope the 👀 are ok. Great color for that year and style.

It should go drive around all over Jackson County Missouri, including places like Lone Jack, Oak Grove, Grain Valley, Raytown, Lee's Summit, Independence, and finally downtown Kansas City Missouri. Also this car would be great for California as well as Florida.

I really enjoy watching you busting myths about what it takes to have a fun good looking car to drive. If you don't drive them, then what good are they.
