We are two counselors, teachers, stay-at-home parents who enjoy listening to music for the first time.

I've always loved this song since its release back in the day, along with 'Take it on the Run' which I love quite a bit more.

My favorite band. And you two are awesome.
When this song/album came out.. it was HUGE!! Before mass media hype, the internut, MTV etc. It was and still is a great album from beginning to end. And Gary Richrath's Les Paul in this song is so sweet! "Take It On The Run" was his answer to this song's "sappiness" LOL
I loved this group and this song and "Take It On The Run" were both catchy and lasted long after the songs were over. Never could admit to my heavy rock friends that I liked this group but man the ladies always loved REO and taken them to a concert with them made you a special guy!!!This song sounds great even today and man do the memories come back hearing it. Thank you for playing and as always the positive reaction you both had to this!!
I mentioned in another review of this band ..that this was the 2nd band I ever saw live.. This album "hi In Fidelity" Had a bunch of songs that got radio play.. especially this one. I think I was 16 years old when I saw them.. great show... You should check out" in your letter "From this album.. it has a 50s feel.

My favorite REO Speedwagon song is "Riding the Storm Out." The first song on their first album. I couldn't count the times I listened to it.

REO Speedwagon is pronounced by saying the three letters then saying speedwagon. So it's ARE EEE OH Speedwagon. But yeah, those are some messed up lyrics. The girl is cheating on him, but he's so desperate to have and keep her, that he's willing to overlook it. Just please come back and be with me only. It really is a song of desperation, lyrics of desperation.

The only teen "coming of age" movie I've ever seen that ended realistically.
That's true and what was interesting is that towards the end it wasn't what was said but what wasn't said as you could tell by the look on both karen and gary's face that he felt that way about her but she didn't feel that way about him. It was a good remake from the film The Lemon Popsicle back in the 70's.
