You don't need to do the entire main story anymore Turtle. Once out of the vault, you can go strait to Camp McClintlock to get your military certificate, then go to the Abandoned Waste Dump. You'll find the holotape that starts the quest in one of the Deathclaw Nests.
I like healing factor. I don't have to worry about my health outside of combat. In some events, i start healing between waves which is nice too. Use first aid level 3 and super stims and you don't notice any debuffs to the stims. I've also got born survivor, so I'm basically never thinking about my health.
Random fact; Grenadier increases the radius of the shock of Electrically Charged, without it, it just looks like a little sparkler on the ground, and I THINK Demolotion works on it as well
Demo expert only works on it if it's classified as explosive, which I don't think EC is. Grenadier on the other hand affects anything with a radius, not just explosives.
Would it be possible to make a video testing the upsides and downsides of Empath? There’s a reddit post with testing that claims the mutation is bugged to have ~3x the listed downside when solo/on a solo team, as well as getting the benefit of your own Empath (with the regular downside, not the bugged 3x one) when on a team with other players even if they don’t have Empath. Would be interested to know if that’s true/still current. The post also claims the Speed Demon damage resistance was patched.

I vote for sturdy frame on my build with 7 charisma . I could share grenadier or starched genes as 2 point cards , but everyone has those i could share a rank 2 commando card but i think commando users will have that card so in my build i'm only left between sturdy frame or rank 2 blocker. I think extra carryweight is nicer and sharing rank 1 cards would be a waste.
It's less useful to stop working when you stop moving. However, having it disable when you walk full speed or sprint makes sense. Then you could still move around reasonably fast without breaking stealth.🤔 Maybe not breaking chameleon stealth with 1st shot from silenced weapon would be nice, maybe a 30 sec cooldown before next valid stealth shot? Chameleon needs fixing.✌️ Moving at all and having it disable is not very useful.

It just seemed counterintuitive to suddenly become visible when you stopped moving is all. Usually it's the other way around. Not saying your idea is flawed or anything. Chameleon just needs a bump to make it better regardless. Not useful right now , unless you're AFK or something lol. ✌️
FANTASTIC another great video on one of the key meta defining areas of fallout 76... using a few serums can really change how you can play the game. Infact the bloodied build wouldn't be the same without a few of these serums plus the usual UNYIELDING armour: PRO TIP: put endurance +2 as the 2* legendary effect on all pieces as it *negates the andrelanine serum negative effect of ---- HP . It gives that HP back from the 5x endurance legendary effects. HP is crucial for any bloodied build so this is a no brainer option for your farming/xp/bloodied build.
No you can be an omnivore for 1hr with a carnivore and take herbivore serum next if you want to keep the herbivore perks after an hour backwood magazine for 50% increase benefits
I pretty much have all the mutations from player vendors selling em at 300-600 and the only mutation I regret is empath. Other than that one as it increases damage taken, you may as well get them all and the related perks to get all the upsides with next to no downsides
Marsupial and Speed Demon is a combo I love, there's mobility and speed, with some pretty easy to deal with downsides, like the perk card that ups the bar fill of canned dog food, and I think lead belly?, that lets you just drink water basically anywhere you can find it
I wish more serums were set up like herbivore/carnivore. Like a stealth mutation that is voided by an open combat mutation, or armor/power armor choice etc

I’m herbivore the brain fungus give intelligence and the cranberry relish up to %25 more exp. I gain levels so fast and it’s great to get the repeatable for the season quicker. But I do miss eating meat cause I’ll get some nice scorched beast hearts and brain but have to sell them.
Hey turtle was wondering does the 50 critical damage from eagle eyes work outside of vats? I’m think of making a heavy gunner build and on my flamer is also 50 critical damage would they both work outside of vats?

I'm sure you figured this out on your own a while ago but I'll answer any way incase you or someone scrolling by needs it still. You can keep mutations for every as long as your careful what method you use to clear rads. Basically all but cola grape and brahmin milk are off the table, if you reach a high enough level and get the rank of starched Gene's you can use all methods and keep mutation. Now to your main question, there are 19 mutations and you can have 18 at a time, the 19th is always one of the food mutations. To get more than one mutation you must server hop. After you get a new one you can only get another new one if you join a new server. I used a disposal site to run into a rad pit die to the radiation and get a new mutation, I did that then I'd server hop to do it again to unlock them all.
I personally don't think so if you intend to use VATS a lot. HOWEVER, if you are running around with shredder mingun, then you should be fine :) because you probably won't use VATS anyway. :)
Why take a serum a second time? I see in some XP farming videos that players will take Marsupial serum again even though they already have it. I think I understand that it takes away all negative mutation effects for a time or something, is that correct?
Yes. There are no negative effects for the first hour after taking the serum. Tho, this boils down to a single point of intelligence if you really want it.
The plant dispenser thing. At least that's as close as you get for now. Keep in mind, you can grow plants at your CAMP already and there are 100 ways to get the water there.
The commie collectron can supply blight soup , the plants you can farm can also provide nice bonuses. I'm a carnivore because i need that carryweight but i have an herbivore friend who gets his blight soup from the collectron. I prefer nuka colas for the grenades tho
I don't know of anything that is quite as convenient as the steamer, but as a herbivore player I have made Brain Bombs a little bit easier to make. I have the mothman nest in my camp. I still search for brain fungus (easy enough), and I seem to collect a lot of radiated sugar bombs as I do dailies, etc. Or, I'll do a serious sugar bomb run from time to time. Anyway, maybe if one is into Brain Bombs like I am, the Mothman nest will help a bit. @Klausiancliff89 RE: blight soup via the Commie collectron. I didn't know that! I'm using a stealth Commando build and I wanna start using Mutations now too. Currently I only have 3 Strength for "Traveling Pharmacy". If I were to use Eagle Eyes which gives me -3 Strenght would I be unable to equip any cards for strenght anymore or is that just a stat-effect?
No, it just affects strength Stat. (+5 carry weight per strength) So you will lose 15 carry weight, but since you do not do melee, it will not effect damage.
I have a frustrating question. I have got most of the mutations I have been trying to get. Last night I found someone selling the final 3 I wanted. When I used the first, Herd mentality its not showing as a perm mutation its showing like when well rested or well tuned as only lasting for an hour? So i hopped out of the game and back into a fresh world, tried taking one of the other 2 and got the same issue its showing it as if it will run out in 60 mins for some reason. Any help with this problem someone could give would be really appreciated since I wasted a lot of caps trying to figure it out on my own last night. I guess lucky I had caps to waste but talk about annoying. speed demon shows in my mutations now also but its also got the timer up top like it will go away. so confused on these final ones or if I am doing something wrong

Only Radaways, Rad-Xs, and their derivative meds effect mutations. This does include Radshield and Decon Arches(as they spray you with Radaway). Any other method is safe and will not affect your mutations.
What’s a fair running rate for serums? I have a couple plans and sell mine for 1k which is probably a little high. But they cost like 17k for my char n want to buy more lol.
plans for serums sell for way more than 1k caps. i’ve bought a couple for 15k. serums themselves sell between 250(whales with 1,000+ serums) and 100(players that picked up some extra for 250 and trying to turn a profit). 500 seems to be a fairly common price as of posting this comment though
you will get a mutation free from ever server you log on just from getting radiation and to get rid of rads you nuka cola grape it takes your rads and you keep your mutation that you have , no flux need to all just pay carnivore or herbivore
When will they give us a mutation station as a camp item? Mutations are the most fun gameplay element of fallout 76. And yet the method to manage thel hasn't changed since day one. They need to improve that aspect by giving us a way to remove and add specific mutations. No randomness, it serves no purpose. Also the recipes are overpriced
you can have a shower to remove rads and place your camp near water , i gotten all my mutations like that and when you got the caps buy the serum from players 👍
They're really not over priced, if anything, they're cheap. You're basically paying for a semipermanent stat boost. There's no real point in giving us easier access to mutations or the ability to change them freely. They're not hard to get and replace and they're supposed to be an endgame bonus.
They are not overpriced, there is a nice market behind serums and serums recipes that would get lost if they just gave the recipes for cheaper , the mutation serum recipes themselves are great plans to sell to avoid the 40k limit
@@matthewmorgan9941 I've kind of hit a point where I have enough flux that I don't even bother with starched genes. With Class Freak in, none of the negative side effects are that bad and once in a while I just clean up my mutations getting rid of those extras. Then sell off the extra serums I got from Super Duper. Other than that I use What Rads?, don't use Radaways, and avoid Decon Arches. If I slip up, I can just make the serum, so really not a big deal and I get 2 perk points to use on something else.

You may be right. I have all three and get massive sparks from electrically charged. I just thought that was normal max on both.

Mutated party packs can drop serums and the recipes though I think the recipes are a very low chance.
Never seen the Party Pack drop the plans, just serums, but Scorched Earth also has a very small chance to drop the plans.

60 minutes is the time without side effects, mutation stays after that but side effects appear

This might seem like a dumb inquiry. Grounded does not effect unarmed weapons? For example Power Fist with Heated Coil or Gauntlet with shock pads?
if it has the little lightning bolt next to the damage number it will be reduced as that’s “energy” damage

When will they give us a mutation station as a camp item? Mutations are the most fun gameplay element of fallout 76. And yet the method to manage thel hasn't changed since day one. They need to improve that aspect by giving us a way to remove and add specific mutations. No randomness, it serves no purpose. Also the recipes are overpriced
you can have a shower to remove rads and place your camp near water , i gotten all my mutations like that and when you got the caps buy the serum from players 👍
They're really not over priced, if anything, they're cheap. You're basically paying for a semipermanent stat boost.
There's no real point in giving us easier access to mutations or the ability to change them freely. They're not hard to get and replace and they're supposed to be an endgame bonus.
They are not overpriced, there is a nice market behind serums and serums recipes that would get lost if they just gave the recipes for cheaper , the mutation serum recipes themselves are great plans to sell to avoid the 40k limit
Thats easy takr all mutations you want and put on starched genes never lose or gain another, its very easy to manage
@@matthewmorgan9941 I've kind of hit a point where I have enough flux that I don't even bother with starched genes. With Class Freak in, none of the negative side effects are that bad and once in a while I just clean up my mutations getting rid of those extras. Then sell off the extra serums I got from Super Duper. Other than that I use What Rads?, don't use Radaways, and avoid Decon Arches. If I slip up, I can just make the serum, so really not a big deal and I get 2 perk points to use on something else.
